I have the most amazing Sunday EVER! I know I say that a lot but you have to remember I make an effort to set the tone for the week and seize my Sundays. It’s a tradition I started a long time ago.

There’s only one problem… I’m so exhausted after my awesome day I don’t have the energy to tell you about it! So you get the bulleted version. :)

It all started with this "genius" idea I had to make a new breakfast sandwich. :)

Then I went for a run. I could not get over how gorgeous it was outside. Just a stellar day and I felt great the whole run.

Chart taken from Nike+ web site after sync. Click here to see how I did it.

When I got back I started the laundry and got Little Guy ready for our hike. We had an amazing time on the trails. Here’s some pics from Little Guy’s (my old) camera.

He was all excited to take his camera and snapped this one of me when we were getting ready.

Once we got there we explored our options…

… hit the trails and…

… had our first casualty. :)

Little Guy had some fun learning the camera. These are his shots…

We really did have a blast and I enjoyed my alone time with Little Guy in nature. :)

We came home and had lunch. I finished the Deep Dish Crescent Pizza Casserole. Sad to see it go. :(

The husband got home from Gaelic Football, helped me fold laundry and them we went out for…

It was so stinkin’ nice out we just wanted a reason to go back outside. :) We strolled around the outdoor shopping center and enjoyed our ice cream.

One the way home we decided it would be a great day to wash the car. I told you.. SO nice out. We just looked for reasons to be outside!

Then I made dinner (pasta with homemade sauce and a side salad), finished the laundry with the husband, put everything away and paid all the bills (that we could. We are feeling the one less paycheck. yikes.)

Anyway.. I am READY to start this week. I love momentum. :)

This weeks Thursday Thoughts posts is devoted to my dirty kitchen. The other day I tweeted…

"I would rather have a dirty kitchen and a heathy diet the a crappy diet and a clean kitchen."

It was trying to make myself feel better becuase I didn’t feel like cleaning up before bed or should i say before I fell asleep on the couch. ;) I’m sure you know cooking your own meals, mostly from scratch does cause quite a mess. Especially if you are a sloppy cook like me. I swear I can’t stir a pot of sauce with having drippings all over my stove top.

Would it be easier to buy dinner in a box and pop it in the microwave or pick up the phone and get a pizza delivered? Sure. And I do that now and then but overall, day in and day out, I make an effort to cook for my family. That’s why I’m devoting this weeks Thursday Thoughts to eating at home.

Let’s start with a blog post outlining 8 benefits of Eating at Home. The articles highlights saving money as the top reason which I totally agree with. It’s amazing how expensive eating out can be especially when you already bought groceries for the week and are simply too lazy to cook. Which is what usually what happens to me.

In case money savings isn’t motivation enough just think.. do you REALLY know what your eating when someone else is cooking? ewe.

If you take the leap to brave your own kitchen you may want to make sure it’s helping and not hurting your efforts.

And I thought these tips to help stock a kitchen with healthy food while on a budget were wonderful.

Ok, so you decided to eat at home, you’ve set and stocked your kitchen now you what do you cook? How about some help from a magazine I recently found and fell in LOVE with. Have you seen Clean Eating? So awesome! I want to work for these people! Such simple recipes using basic whole foods. Exactly my goal on GreenLiteBites.

Since I’m on the food topic, as always, I’ll share my GreenLiteBites posts this week. First I made a new couscous salad on a whim and totally fell in love. Then I stuffed and baked some peaches, DIVINE! and tonight I ate a leftover Apple Chutney Turkey Burger for dinner. I guess you can say I’ve been having fruit cravings recently. ;)

I’ve also been making progress on the FitBloggin’ planning. Reaching out to speakers, working on the schedule, and making buttons. I’m also happy to announce Jen and Mandy’s feature, Fit4FitBloggin’ which is going to be a ton of fun!

Let’s see… other news…. Hmmmm… Oh! I recorded an "I Breastfeed because video" for the Ameda campaign. Click here to check it out but give it a second, for some reason it takes a bit for my video to load. I breast fed little guy for almost 8 months and I’m planning on doing it again with number 2. :) Maybe I’ll even re-record my long winded breast milk storage video. ;)

ok, I think that’s all I got in my tonight. I’m going to try to record a podcast tomorrow. I would have today BUT little was home from school so I took him to the Visionary Arts Museum instead. SO fun. :)

He had a blast!

We even shared the most AMAZING chocolate cake for a treat. :)

It was a great day.

Today was an AMAZING today! It was exactly what Sensational Sundays are all about. Taking control, feeling productive, preparing for the week, spending time with the family and resting. It’s a lot to jam pack in a single 24 hours but totally worth it to set the tone for the week. And we needed it, especially this week.

Tomorrow my little man starts kindergarten. I know every mom says this but… I really can’t believe it. Every day I’m beyond grateful for him. He has changed and effected my life in so many positive ways. Don’t get me wrong he has his moments, remember this little gem? OMG I re-read that laughing out loud. Boy have we have our issues but overall he is a joy to be around. Remember Funderwear day? Or when I recorded us reading Dr. Seuss? And just today he asked if he could go running with me. He really is my ultimate Motivation Turned Workout Partner.

Anyway, let me stop before I get teary. I’ll be shedding enough when I put him on the bus for the first time tomorrow morning. SO… this morning started with a run. I had 9 miles scheduled as per my marathon training but I decided on 8 mid run and shortened my loop.

Chart taken from Nike+ web site after sync. Click here to see how I did it.

I’m really starting to feel the effects of pregnancy on the running. I’m 7 weeks, still super early but according to BabyCenter.com my uterus has doubled in size and I have 10% more blood volume. I’ve also been extra tired and my morning sickness is increasing daily. Of course all of these things effect running. I’ve been taking more and more walk breaks listening to my body and simply doing what feels natural with no pressure or expectation.

After the run, little guy and I did some more Fun Fusion. This is his new obsession. We took a pic the other day of our creations…

He loves these things and they are so fun!

Anyway… soon it was time to hit the grocery store to stock up for the week. We already got our produce loot from the farm on friday…

Someone asked me on twitter how a family of 3 eats all that. Honestly we already made a dent in it. Between taco night, a huge batch of veggie skillet, my veggie omelets, and packing the vegetables for Little Guys first Kindergarten lunch, half the peppers and 2 of the summer squashes are gone. Plus most of the onions, half the tomatoes, a few of the hot peppers and the cilantro. It’s funny but once you integrate the vegetables into your routine, you use way more then you realize. Plus the beauty of the getting a bunch of veggies weekly sort of forces you to figure out ways to use it. Which I find super fun!

The rest of the day was filled with laundry, clean up and even a nap. Little guys clothes are out for tomorrow. His lunch is packed, backpack’s by the door and I’m ready for my first day of work at home, childless. I have so much to do!

I’m off to watch the rest of Mad Men and then it’s bed for me. Oh! and I’m still keeping my food journal. I think it will be fun throughout the pregnancy to see how my appetite increases…

It’s our last day here in the Outer Banks. It’s been an amazing week! We hit the beach, walked, rented bikes, flew kites, hung out by the pool and ate some wonderful seafood (more on that in a bit.) I even ran 21 miles since Sunday!

This may have been the most active, most fun, most relaxing week ever! I’m thinking the fact that my last day of work was the Friday before we left has something to do with it. ;) Regardless we have a blast and today was the best day ever!

It started with a short bike ride to return the bikes we rented. I didn’t get a picture of us but little guy and I raced around on a tandem bike like this one. We rode about 14 miles total yesterday just cruising around. It was AWESOME!

Once the bikes were returned we put a 6 hour shift in at the beach. The water was PERFECT minus a few jellyfish but we braved it. We played paddle ball, took the boogie board out and built sand castles. Little Guy was having a blast…

He even just chilled and people watched with us for a bit…

While on the beach I was reading My Two-Year-Old Eats Octopus: Raising Children Who Love to Eat Everything. What an amazing book! I’m only a few chapters in but I’m loving the stories and advice. There’s even a chapter on pregnancy and breast feeding. How fitting. ;)

Even though I’m not finished with the book it has been inspiring me. Tonight we went out to dinner and I excitedly ignored the children’s menu ordering Ryan a steamed veggie platter…

He also spilt the husband’s steamed crab legs and shrimps. It was so nice seeing him eat such great food and I was proud that he was willing to try everything. Although.. the ceviche didn’t go over to well but the husband loved it. ;)

After dinner we strolled back home stopping for our last bowl of ice cream. It definitely put me over the feeling full edge but it was worth it. We were having a good time trying each others flavors and just spending quality family time together.

The day has now come to an end. Little guys is in bed and I must help the husband pack. We need to head home and I have a busy week ahead even though I won’t be "going to work." FitBloggin’ planning is in full swing. GreenLiteBites is in desperate need to some new food ideas and I FINALLY will have time to initiate some new challenges on BlogToLose. It’s work but it’s my work and there is something amazingly empowering about being my own boss. Oh! PLUS it’s little guys last week before Kindergarten!! So many fun things going on!

OK… I really need to go. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite pics of the day. We were having fun trying on hats at the gift shop. :)

I hope you have a great week! Enjoy your weekend!

Oh! and I have a few more vacation pics over on RoniNoone.com click here if you are interested.

I told you I’d be inspired to blog this week. I just can’t stay away. It’s an obsession. :) Anyway….

I had to pop in and tell you about the July race for my one running event per month goal this year. Yesterday I met JenInRL on the boardwalk in Atlantic City to run the Christmas in July 5k. It was awesome seeing Jen again after FitBloggin. I didn’t really get a chance to hang out with many during the conference. I was just too frazzled.

Anyway Here we are before the race…

We had a blast running this 5k! Jen did an amazing job for her first. We kept a great run/walk pace for the 3 miles and then I ran ahead so I can snap her crossing the finish line…

I was able to record the run on the Nike+ after picking up a new iPod before heading out for vacation. Did I tell you I fried my last one on sweaty run last weekend? I can’t remember, regardless, here’s our run….

Chart taken from Nike+ web site after sync. Click here to see how I did it.

After the race we walked down the boardwalk and decided on some Ben and Jerry sorbets. An amazing post race treat on quite a hot morning!

We split a small mango and a pomegranate. Both SUPER yummy!

I then returned to the family and had the most amazing beach day ever! It was pristine out. Nothing but blue skies for miles. The water was a fabulous 73 degrees, the waves are incredible and I got to enjoy it all with my fearless little man…

We spent more time in the water then out and I hope to do it all again today! I gotta go get ready… it’s 7AM and he’s already got his suit on. ;)

By the way.. took that video with the new phone. It’s amazing!

Oh! and the 5 year old quote of the day, yesterday was… "Beach! Here I come!" being screamed from the porch of our rental. LOL

Hope you are having a great week! I’ll be back again, I’m sure. :)

I feel a funk coming on and have no desire to "talk" this Sunday evening. However, even in my current irrational state I can recognize just how amazing my weekend really was. Sometimes pausing to reflect and be grateful makes fat thoughts seem utterly ridiculous. I really did have a fabulous weekend. It all started with filling our fridge with good healthy food. Friday we picked up our share from the farm…

In case yo missed it we joined a CSA

And The Husband’s Fathers days gift got delivered…

We nibbled all weekend on this fruit basket. Nothing makes me happier to get good healthy food in my boys.

Saturday started with a trip to the gym. I finally got back to my boot camp class. It felt great!

Then we were off to Little Guy’s T-Ball game. Which has turned into couch pitched ball. He did awesome! Can you see it? The ball I mean…

It was the last game of the season and we had a blast. Look how stinkin’ cute he is. I hope he wants to play again next year.

After baseball we came home, made lunch, took naps (well, I did anyway. ;) and then got ready for soccer. It was the last game of the season for that as well. Unlike baseball, if he never played another game of soccer again, I’ll be happy. I’m just not a fan. Although, he look cute out there as well.

Saturday night ended with dinner out at Outback (loving their new light menu items under 500 cals). I stuck with salmon and veggies but over did it on fries from the Little Guys plate.

Sunday was just as jam packed as Saturday if not more so.

We decided to do an early morning showing of Toy Story 3 instead of braving the crowds later. I was betting a Sunday matinee was just about on everyone’s agenda who has kids. So we headed to the theater at 9AM. It was neat to be there at that time. Parking spots galore, no line for popcorn and we had out pick of seats.

The new Toy Story was a hit with all 3 of us. As I said on Twitter…

Toy Story 3 was TOTALLY AWESOME! I laughed, I cried, I even jumped @ 1 point. Pure movie pleasure. Even little man got up & danced @ the end

After the movie we hit Barnes & Noble’s, picked up a few new books and went out for a Fathers Day lunch at Chili’s. They also have the "lighter" options that make ordering easy. I went with a Sante Fe wrap, dressing on the side and steamed veggies.

By getting the dressing on the side I can decide if it’s even needed. Sometimes they are perfect without. I also save some calories by ripping off any extra wrap that’s not necessary to hold it together. Just look at how much extraneous "bread" there was.

What’s that? 1-2 points? Seriously. I didn’t even miss or want it either.

After lunch we did a little shopping then came home and tended garden.

We grew some pepper plants from seed that needed to be transplanted and are getting buds on the tomato and zucchini!

The rest of the day we played and relaxed. We read our new books, played Frisbee in the back yard, watched golf and ate dinner. Little Guy also practiced his photo taking skills….

Like I said it was a fabulous weekend and I’m not going to let my stupid hormones tell me otherwise. I just put Little Guy to bed, lunches are made, running clothes are on and I’m totally ready to go to straight to bed after The Next Food Network Star. I’ll feel better after a good nights rest and a morning run. I really want to get one in before I go to work.

So there you have it, my weekend and Sensational Sunday. Are you ready for the week?
