Way back when I mentioned the husband’s love of my homemade spaghetti sauce. I mean he really loves this stuff. Between the months of October and April if it’s the only thing I made it would be the only thing he ate, no complaints. It’s quit hysterical, and flattering, I think. :~)

Anyway, now that the weather broke and it finally feels like fall, I made a huge batch. It was awesome. The smell through the house got me in the mood to bake so I made some Halloween Brownie Bites (I’ll post the recipe tomorrow). I truly LOVE being home on the weekends and cooking. It’s just a great time spent with the toddler, who by the way, appreciated both the sauce and the brownies! Nothing is more satisfying for me then to see the toddler eating good healthy food.

Besides cooking, I hit the gym and had a great workout this morning. The toddler has his tumble bees class Saturday morning at the Y and I’ve been taking advantage of the free child care afterwards.

Other news….

I’ve been working on a new site and I hope to have it ready in the next month or two. Since the “big crash”, I’ve lost the ability to customize WeightWatchen as much as I want to. I also realized there are quite a few recipes up here and I think we need a better way to access them, no? Along with the new site, I will be revamping some of my older food ideas. I think my recipe writing skills are getting better and more detailed since I started. I’m learning! ;~)

Oh! and keep an eye out on my DietDetective blog. My new post about “scale angst” should be up there soon,

That’s my Saturday news. I do plan on making tomorrow a Sensational Sunday! We are traveling to a local corn maize for a day trip. Every year we go, and every year we walk for about 2 hours straight. I love workouts that aren’t workouts!

I’ll be back tomorrow with the brownie pictures and Monday with my daily menus.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

I’ve been working on the site all day. Normally this is something I enjoy doing very much but the more I rebuild the angrier I get at myself for not having a backup. MAN I had such a great system and archive of the last 2 years!! Now I’m spending all my time rebuilding instead of coming up with new recipes and food finds. That’s really what I love to do. I love the whole creative process of it right down to shooting the photographs but now I have to put that all on hold while I redo what I’ve already done. MAN is that frustrating! Did I tell you the day I found out the site crashed I was working on a cookbook proposal? Of course I haven’t been able to spend any time on it since “the crash”. OK, OK, OK I’m done whining.

I’m really trying not to be upset about it anymore. Can you tell?

Let’s see. Updates. I’ve added a bunch of stuff today but have a long way to go. I lost my sweet potato fry recipe. Does anyone have it? Can you email it to me? Which reminds me, I haven’t touched my email in days. I didn’t journal today AND I had a case of the munchies. I should weigh in tomorrow but I’m not even sure if Weight Watchers is open. I’m working on the import problem for the blogs. AACK! Thank GOD I have my summers off. If this happened during the semester, I’m not sure what I would do.

Tomorrow will be better. I’ll snap out of it. I think I need to call it a night.

The rebuilding is getting there. If you missed it I re-released the community today. I just couldn’t help myself. I missed it!

I’m also SLOWLY adding back in some of my content. It is going to take me WEEKS before I even get close to what I had out there. I can’t believe how much stuff I had! I guess when you post 1-3 times a day for 7 months you should back up regularly, huh? LOL ;~) Can you tell I’m getting over it. It still hurts but you have to move on, right? It’s not that different with weigh loss or maintenance. So I went to Vegas, had a good time and got off track but today it was business as usual. To be honest I wasn’t even that hungry. I tried to listen to my body and eat when I got hungry. It sure did feel good to eat my own homemade stuff and some fresh veggies! I had my first tomato from the garden today and boy was it GOOD!

So here is how the day panned out. See you on the boards! ;~) Oh! I should confess I have NEVER been more behind on email. I promise I will reply, it just may take me MUCH longer then normal.

Tomorrow is the big trip! I fly out with my two closest friends in world. I am so ready to relax with the girls. I hope you don’t take this personally but no more posts, updates or rebuilding efforts for the next 5 days. I need a BREAK! ;~) I’ve bee working non-stop on rebuilding. I haven’t even packed yet! It’s my own fault, I’m a bit obsessed but hey, we all need hobby right?

I don’t have a menu tonight. I didn’t do particularly bad or good, I just didn’t journal. Well… I should confess my little Triscuit incident. I grabbed the box while working on the site and mindlessly munched about half the box. At least it wasn’t the Doritos my husband bought yesterday! That would have been DISASTEROUS!

So as you can see I got my updates back up. It was the easiest to do in the short time frame I had. My plan is to rebuild the majority of recipes (at least the popular ones) and repost my journal from the first years (when I lost the weight) and the more popular entries from the past year.

My inbox is overflowing! Over 100 message from the last 2 days. I have read them all but haven’t replied to any. I will catch up when I get back and I promise I will start posting daily menus again on Sunday. I’m sure I will want to after my vacation!

Thanks again for the support. One more thing, someone asked if I would rebuild the blog community. I have to admit I’m a bit hesitant, I’m not sure I’m ready to handle the responsibility of hosting all your hard work again. I will definitely recreate the message boards and I plan to get them up and running by the end of next week. I know some of you have started blogs else where and I think that’s GREAT! It’s all about staying accountable. With the message boards at least you can always put your address into your profile. I can also create a user page that will link to everyone’s blogs no matter where you decide to create them. How does that sound? This way it will be a little less responsibility for me and we can still all stay in touch and support each other.

I’d love to here your feedback and again, I can’t thank you enough.

I still cannot believe it, two years of work down the drain, all your great blogs gone in an instant, the journal documenting my entire weight loss process gone, the message boards gone, my recipes. It’s a bit overwhelming. Ok that’s enough pouting. It happened. It’s over and I’m moving on!!

First thing I want to say is thank you SO much for all the supportive emails! You guys really are the BEST!

On to moving on, first, of course, the day the site goes down I have like a million things to tell you. I made a great new recipe (Portobello cherry stuffed pork) my “fanciest” yet! I will post it as soon as I get my new system down, which leaves me to my agenda… updates.

1.) My first task is to get some of my site rebuilt. I have all of the pictures and recipes on my hard drive and I was able to pull many of my pages from Google cache. Bear with me it will probably be a slow process. If there is a recipe you need, email me and let me know, I’ll move it to the top of my list.

2.) Rebuild the Boards. It will be the fastest thing I can to do to start rebuilding the community. It’s not as labor intensive as the blogs and I should be able to get them up fairly quickly. **biting my nails** I THINK!

3.) The last thing on the list is the blogs. This, by far, has been the hardest for me to swallow. We had over 400 AMAZING blogs! I’m not sure I have it in me to rebuild and have the responsibility of hosting them all for you again. Let’s see how things pan out.

There you have it. My loose rebuild plan. Of course the next three weeks are my busiest personally. First, I’m going to Vegas this week with “the girls”, next week I will be watching my niece (another toddler) and the week after that is our family outing to the beach. Where does the time go?

I did manage to journal today, although I nibbled a bit. I don’t have it in me to count points right now but here’s the morning weigh in and food list.

Morning Weigh In: 141.5

Berry VitaMuffin Cake (recipe will be resposted) and an orange

Fruit cup

2 ears of corn

2 mini corn muffins (recipe will be resposted)

Leftover big pot o’ stuff (recipe will be resposted)

8 oz light yogurt

100 cal pack

Portobello cherry stuffed pork (recipe to come) with a side of sugar snap peas

A handful of Doritos (total mindless splurge)

There you have it. I’m off to figure out the new system and start moving stuff.

I am writing this with tears in my eyes.

What I thought was just some temporary downtime on the server has resulted in permanent database failure. I’m still waiting on the official response from the hosting company but I’ve been told by tech support that all data has been lost. ALL DATA!! I was in shock for about an hour. I cried so hard my husband thought someone died. I never realized how emotionally attached I was to the site and all of you. I think I went through my own accelerated mourning process. First I was in shock then disbelief, “no way, there has to be a back up”, then I felt broken as if all hope was lost. I actually said to my husband “It’s over”. You all trusted me and signed up for the blogs and the boards. All of that is gone! Our community is GONE! I’m actually still nodding my head in disbelief. I’m really not sure what to do right now. When I think about it, all your blogs, and our great support on the message boards, I actually get physically sick.

Now I have hope. I’m coming up with the best and safest way to rebuild. It will be tough but I need to do it!

As soon as I hear anything from the hosting company I will let you know. I don’t even know where to begin apologizing for all of the hard work on your blogs and the support you provided me.

-Roni
