First let me confess. I ate out last night. *hangs head is shame* I couldn’t, no that’s not right, I didn’t, resist the husband’s request to go out. Once it was mentioned to the child there was no going back. I succumbed to the family pressure. *sigh*

However! After the little guy went to bed I completed week 2 day 2 of my crazy challenge and let me tell you it’s kicking my arse! I was sweaty and sore after all the push ups, sit ups and squats! I’m glad I’m doing this as my workouts, including running, are taking a hit with all that’s been going on.

Ok, let’s move on to the links!

First, another one of my articles was published on the You.Propelled community. This one I cleverly called The Real Secret to Weight Loss, I reveal (surprise surprise) what I think the real secret to weight loss is. Don’t forget while you’re there to enter a daily proclamation for your change to win not only $5000 but weekly $100 dollar drawings as well. I’m proud to be working with Propel® as a sponsor of the You.Propelled program.

Next let’s talk about food, shall we? :) I love this list on Cooking Light about 10 foods that sound healthy but aren’t. It’s amazing how many things are misconstrued. The one that bugs me the most is the "wheat" bread. Just because it’s brown does not make it healthy. I see this all the time with my friends that buy wheat bread that’s not 100% whole wheat bread. I’m on a mission to get everyone to read labels!

Also in the FOOD department (can you tell what I’ve had on the brain lately) there are two recipes in the blogoshere that caught my attention (or well brought to my attention. Honestly I can’t remember.) First is Pizza Stuffed Peppers. It has pizza in the title, ’nuff said. The second is Quinoa Chili that looks so darn tasty! Just in time for comfort food season!

Some food ideas I worked on this week, Salmon Cakes and Sweet and Sour Peppers. These were the result of my effort to cook more while still being in the temporary housing situation. I proved to myself it is possible to cook good food anywhere but I’ve been so bogged down with the new house, moving, and being in a temporary state that I really wasn’t in the right mind set these last few weeks. I really think I’m more excited to feel stable then moving into the house itself. I just want a permenant living situation with dressers for clothes. That’s all. That’s not too much to ask for is it? LOL ;~P

I also started a series on SkinnyMinnyMedia about CSS. I’ve been working with so much CSS at work I was inspired to finally start the series I had considered months ago. If you blog and want to learn a little more about coding please stop by and let me know any specific questions you may have.

Finally, I’ll leave you with a video I found on YouTube. I believe it was posted by a home-based business which I find shady BUT the video is very motivational. It really made me even think more about the things people told me. :)

Writers block, I have it. I’ve been sitting in front of the computer for the last hour while watching American Idol and I have written nothing. I have no desire to be witty (am I normally? – I do try lol) I have no idea how to start. So when this happens I do.. well… this. What I’m doing right now. I write about not being able to write. Cures is every time! :)

Let me start by saying… "Holy Crap.. Maybe I WAS RIGHT!" So many times I share my opinion, my perspective but I generally don’t have much to back it up except my own personal experience and theories. For example, recently Marie asked if I thought a calorie was a calorie and my reply was Yes and No. Yes, I believe if you only eat x-number of calories you will lose weight regardless of where the calories are coming from. HOWEVER, it’s not realistic and almost impossible. If you only ate 1200 calories of pizza once a day you would probably lose weight but can you eat just once a day? And if so for how long? So when push comes to shove as long as you reduce your calories and burn more then you bring in, you will lose weight. The key is to find a way to do that happily and healthily (is that a word) where you can maintain it long term while learning good habits along the way. Check out these two articles that discuss this study. Cutting calories key to weight loss: study and Study Zeroes In on Calories, Not Diet, for Loss.

Ok, that was my one deep thought this week. :) My next has to do with the husband. Now you guys know I talk about him a lot. I make fun of his eating habits on GreenLiteBites. I even use him as an example in posts because he’s "naturally thin". It’s all in good fun. He’s can take it and gets chuckles out of most things I write. Anyway, I get on his case all the time about his diet and unhealthy habits and boy, does he get on a nerve when I want to make something different for dinner. However our relationship is very functional. More then function, it’s great! Which is more then I can say for this couple. You guys will have chime in, but I just didn’t get that whole article except for the point that men tend to have it easier on the weight loss front. Other then that I was confused by the whole "war."

Anyway…. Good news for anyone who wants to try VitaTops! They are having another special just for my readers called BYOB. Buy a 24 and get 6 free when you use the code WRN33109. Don’t want to buy that many? You can still use the RonisWeigh code for 10% off anything you order!

Oh! and even more reason to get some SLEEP! Not only does it help you achieve balance it also helps on the weight loss front! -Thanks Liz!

Alright so you may have noticed I did a bit of rearranging here on Roni’s Weigh. I decided to go with an ad network called RGM. They are the same folks behind DivineCaroline, a really cool women’s online mag. So I’ll be contributing a few posts there as well. This week I shared some of my older posts, Zucchini and Spaghetti Squash Lasagna and House Plants and Dieters: More in Common Than you Think?

On GreenLiteBites this week I went a little dessert happy posting Instant Vanilla Pudding Cups with Banana and Sprinkles and Chocolate Cookie Crisps. Dinner yesterday was Meatball Mac which was this weeks video post.

RoniNoone.com saw three posts this week. First My Video Hosting History with Lessons Learned, then a laugh with Jon Stewart about Twitter and today, Part 1 of my series HTML That All Bloggers Should Know.

In the works… 2 product reviews with 2 giveaways, a book review I promised 2 Thursday Thoughts ago, and a trip down memory lane (those on facebook may know what I’m talking about.) ;~)

One more thing…. I have to share my 5 mile run today. I was surprised how easy it was (WOW did I just say that??? OMG I DID!) Training is going well! Check out my schedule/journal for the last 2 months! I’m in total uncharted fitness territory! Here’s the run…

So the husband told me I should be writing Thursday Thoughts on Wednesday as no one reads them until Friday cause I post too late.

My response, "But I have the thoughts on Thursday so I write them on Thursday. Who cares when they get read anyway?"

"Then you should just call them Thoughts."

"But I have the Thoughts on Thursday. Plus I like the way it sounds."

"Whatever. It’s your blog."

EXACTLY! So here are this weeks Thursday Thoughts on Friday, again. :)

I can’t remember if I told you guys how I actually collect the links for my "thoughts" post. I email them to myself all week and then on Thursday (*cough* – as in THURSDAYs thoughts) I look through the email, review the links and pluck the ones that I want to share. It works for me. The problem is I don’t generally take any notes so sometimes I can’t remember how I found the link or if someone sent it to me. That’s the case for this one. I have this great link to an article called How to Stop Making Excuses and Start Making Changes but I have no idea how found it. Regardless it’s a great post. Being somewhat of an excuse maker myself I appreciated the advice.

As for excuses. I stopped making them with my running training this week and I’m feeling great on the workout front! Speaking of, have you guys seen the Physical Activity Pyramid? I never did but I think it’s pretty cool!

Ok, no more excuses? check… More Activity? check…. What’s left? Ohhh yea! FOOD! How could I forget? This week I found the 10 Best Foods for your Heart according to Health.com. I love that little pictorial slideshow format, don’t you? Anyway… I was psyched as I don’t only eat all these foods but they are pretty much staples in my diet. Just recently learning to appreciate the avocado. :)

Have you guys heard of the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer? Honestly, I didn’t until Elaine brought it to my attention and started the Breast Cancer 3Day Walkers with Robyn. To support my fellow BlogToLose’rs, I designed some shirts for them to wear on the walk. I’m also selling them to help raise money for the cause! Check out my post about them on BlogToLose and please spread the word if you feel so inclined! :)

This week on RoniNoone.com I reached my 2 post a week goal! Writing 3 Twitter Tips for Twitter #newbies and Getting Readers/Increasing Traffic. I have to admit I’m having fun writing for SMM. It’s fun!

As for GreenLiteBites I made up Taco-ish Soup with Couscous and Avocado, sweetened some pancakes with Pom Berry Sauce and experimented with Apple Bran Muffins. I also posted this weeks video, Taco Night! :)

Let’s see, other news? Ummmm not much! Do you believe it? I did record an Ask Roni today and should get it posted tomorrow. Other then that I have a product and book review in the works. Oh! and new, fun playlist on the way!

Right now I’m off to relax with the husband. I’m missing CSI!

Not sure what’s up with me this week. I’ve been very unmotivated. I’ll muster up some energy to go and run only to quit early. I’ll keep a good food journal all day just to ditch it at dinner and pig out on evening snacks. I’m entering the "I’ll just start tomorrow" stage. Bleh. That’s how I feel.

I know it’s a phase. I’ve been making an effort to go to bed a little earlier this week, hoping that will help. I’m a bit stressed with tax season, having a house on the market, keeping my blogs going, and just being a wife/parent. *sigh* such is life, I’ll get over it. I always do. In the meantime I have a few "thoughts" to share. :)

A friend shot me this link in an instant message a few days ago with the message "You have to see this." I had no idea what to expect. Then when I saw the… the… heart attacks on a plate? (no idea how to describe it) in a strange way it made me feel a little better. Like a wake up call that even though I’m feeling a bit down now I’ll never be who I once was. And yes I was once someone who would totally go for stuff like the Double Bacon Hamburger Fatty Melt and the Brick Of Cheese. I mean pizza in a vending machine… Come ON! Thank GOD my dorm floor wasn’t equipped with that or the 60lbs I gained in college would have easily been 120.

Looking for other (ok, ok, better) motivation, especially on the running front, I found Robins Story. I feel as if I hit a roadblock in my training. I can’t seem to get passed the 4 mile mark. So after reading about Robin I headed over to MapMyRun to find some new routes. I’m hoping it helps get motivated to run again.

Speaking of what motivates me John, from John is Fit just posted some bloggers favorite fitness gadgets. Take a guess what mine is (although it hasn’t worked that well for me this week.)

Need a giggle? Are are you a Trader Joe’s fan? Check out the unofficial commercial. I totally think Trader Joe’s should air it. :) Thanks everyone who sent it to me!

I had a slow week on GreenLiteBites. Today I posted Bread-End Crumb Chicken Nuggets, this weeks video and I finally got around to sharing my Old Fashioned Blueberry Oatmeal idea.

RoniNoone.com also saw a slow week (although I have SO many ideas and tutorials to get out of my head!) I did just post the winners of the blog header contest and a few things I picked up at the Blissdom Conference last weekend.

As for other things… I”m chipping away at my new to do list. Yes I started one after reading all the fabulous advice given on the Question of the Week.

RIght now I going to post this and then go to bed. I’m really trying to make an effort to get more sleep. I really think all the late nights working are catching up with me.

So on that note.. Good Night! :)

With all my real estate worries in my head I’m surprised I actually have other thoughts to share. But I did jot a few things down this week…

Let me step back on my soap box about Diet Soda. Remember a couple of weeks ago I said it was my personal mission to spread the joys of water drinking. That means ditching the diet soda for some of you. I know, I know, you can’t give it up. But listen, I’m not asking you to. I’m just trying to get you to replace a few cans with some good old fashion water. Just one maybe two a day? You can handle that right? Ok, I’ll make a deal with ya. Next time you’re sipping your fav diet soft drink just read this. Just read it. That’s all I ask. It’s step one of my reduce your Diet Soda mission. :~)

Speaking of missions, another one of mine is spreading self-love. Sounds corny, I know but I truly believe my food disfunction and weight problems all stemmed from a poor body image. It wasn’t until I was able to accept myself that I could move past the "diet mentality". This is what I talk about in my 3 Steps to A Healthier YOU series. I see posts like this from a seventeen year old and shudder. We worry SO much the number on the scale and how others will accept us that we start that unhealthy realtionship with food. We just need to eat consciously, stacy active and live life! And we need to set goals that are internally driven not influence by what we thing others think. You know what I mean, right? I love this article by Debbie Mandel talking about New Years Resolutions this year. Debbie has a site and I found this video about "turning on your inner light." Again… sounds cheesy but she gives some great advice. She mentions body confidence towards the end.

On the funnier side of the body image things, These cartoons cracked me up!

I also found myself cracking up at MommyMcButterpants post this week about sharing food. Am I showing my age by saying I miss Friends? :~P

With all the running I’ve been doing in preparation for my marathon aspirations Elaine’s post was appreciated. I will cross that finish line. I WILL!

This week’s guest post is up in DietsInReview. I talk about the 3 reasons why I think Weight Watchers worked for me.

I also pitched 3 ideas for the BlogHer Conference in July. My geekish like ideas are What is CSS and how do I use it with WordPress? and Dissecting a WP Theme and Customizing Self-Hosted WordPress. I also thought it would be fun to do a session on Blogging to Lose where we could have a discussion about blogging to achieve healthy goals. If you are interested in attending any of these session click on the "I would attend this session" on top the page. This will let the BlogHer people know there is interest so I can offer them.

On GreenLiteBites this week I actually posted 2 videos (only because I was late last week). First I made a quick creamy dressing with avocado and then the toddler and I made burgers in the oven. I also made a whole grain banana bread in a bundt pan. It’s my new favorite. :)

Other quick news bites….

Every morning I have a mini heart attack about the possible move. Our house will official be on the market tomorrow morning.

This weekend I’m heading out with a friend of mind to relax. We are going have a few drinks and go dancing. I need it. I just need a day where I think of NOTHING but having a good time. I can NOT WAIT!

Training is going well. I can’t believe I’m doing all this running! I thought I liked it before now I KNOW i do. I don’t even mind going out in the cold anymore. Click here to see my training updates.

Things in the works… 2 food reviews, a food scale contest and, ummmm, oh yea, a book review for new moms. :)

ok, I now need to go and touch up the paint on my walls. I can’t believe how many scuffs there are!

Nothing major, just rearranged a bit and added an orientation for any new readers (or old ones who may have been missing something.) Cleaning up and re-reading my own posts was just what I needed to get out of the funk I’m in. So I decided to pluck my favorite posts from 2008.
Geesh! How’d I get backlogged again? I almost missed Thursday Thoughts! I also have 2 videos I want to post and tomorrow I’m off for a weekend getaway. It’s the husbands birthday! Actually I have a few getaways planned in the coming month, I’ll fill you in on those later.

I didn’t collect too much this week but I have a few links to share…

First. In honor of my marathon goals I present Nova’s Marathon Challenge. Can a group of sedentary non-athletes be transformed in nine months into a team that can complete the Boston Marathon? Click here to watch the documentary online. Thanks Jennifer and RooBabs, I love it!

Now… Are you a charity case? :) Wait, that’s now what I mean. lol Are you someone who’d rather give then receive. Someone who likes to volunteer their time to serve the greater good. Then maybe pledging pounds for charity will motivate you. The Biggest loser is having a pound for pound challenge that benefits Feeding America. For every pound you lose, they will donate 10¢!

OK, so who likes Jessica Alba? I’m a fan. Dark Angel… Sin City… Loved her! What I don’t like is the media messing with her image. Taking a beautiful women and turning her into a plastic mannequin while creating an impossible image for young girls to look up to. Skinny vs Curvy has a before and after side by side that’s just, in my opinion appalling. Please show the young girls in your life so they don’t think these images are actually real.

Now for a giggle and this one is for all my fellow Weight Watcher friends out there. A close friend of mine turned me onto Little Britain, a sketch comedy show on the BBC. They have a regular skit called Fat Fighters staring Marjorie Dawes, a rude and crude weight loss support group leader. I find it hysterical but I’m warnin’ ya, it’s a little, umm how do I say, sketch comedy like. So if you aren’t into that kind of stuff and are easily offended, don’t hit play. :)

Other then those few things, my buddy Tanya over on iateapie.net asked my favorite food products of 2008. Click here to check it out. Poke around her site a bit, she’s got a lot of great products up their.

Another slow week on GreenLiteBites. Click here to check out the toddler and I making my whole grain chocolate cookie idea (yummy I might add) for this weeks video. I’m hoping to post one more cookie idea next week as I’ll be baking for Christmas. I also made a quick pumpkin smoothie and answered a question about my recipes.

As for me? Well I FINALLY recorded a couple of Ask Roni’s so keep an eye out for those. I still have 2 book reviews to post and now I have like 3 product reviews piling up. Oh! and another giveaway. Seriously, I can’t keep up! I think I need to hire an intern! ;~P

Of course the holiday season isn’t helping AND the husband’s birthday mixed in just makes it worse. That sounds bad doesn’t it? Actually I’m welcoming our little weekend getaway, we’ve both been so busy it’ll be nice to spend some time alone together. :)

I REALLY didn’t think I’d have time to write this week’s Thursday Thoughts but being that I missed last weekend due to the holiday (which went off without a hitch, by the way) I had to squish in a quick post before putting the Christmas lights out with the family.

Because I haven’t had much time, I haven’t done much blog reading, or any reading for that matter so my thoughts are going to be pretty egocentric (not that half of them aren’t normally anyways :)

SO here goes…

As if I didn’t have enough things to attend to I started to blog on my friend, the designer’s site. I will NO WHERE NEAR post as frequently as I do here but I’m going contribute a few articles a month. Mostly because there are somethings I want to blog about that don’t necessarily fit the weight loss arena or the food arena (yes I have other interests! lol). I guess you can say his blog will be my outlet for other topics, like design, maybe techie stuff. Although I was thinking of creating a new blog (YES I’m crazy) for my geek side. I feel like I have a lot to share and I’d love to help people with their blogs in the process. Mind you, this is just a thought! Nothing in the works quite yet! In the mean time, you can check out my first post about why I blog on dzobel.com by clicking here.

Not only have I been writing for another site but I was also interviewed for another blog. Workout Mommy (who is super cool, I got to meet her in Chicago) asked if I’d answer a few questions for her "One Fit Mommy" series and I happily said yes. You can check out my interview by clicking here.

I also got tons of work done recently. If you remember, Michele asked for a reader map. Well, I found one I fell in LOVE with and got it set up over on BlogToLose. So if you have a chance click here and add yourself. I’d LOVE to see where everyone’s from!!

As for GreenLiteBites, of course I did something fun with my turkey leftovers, making a Curried Turkey salad with Apple and Pear. Yesterday I posted the video of the week, where I make dinner from beginning to end in 20 minutes while listening to the grinch. :~) Oh! and I made a new breading for tilapia, not that the husband even really noticed. ;~)

Other then that I did Weigh-in yesterday for the first time in almost 2 months. TWO MONTHS! I couldn’t believe it. I don’t know where the time goes. Anyway for all my worries and "fat feelings", wondering if I’m reall getting it, even through the holiday, I was only up .4lbs. In a maintainer’s book, that’s nothin’ Every weigh has me more and more confident, this one especially. I really thought I was going to be over my Weight Watchers goal and I’ve been really scared of the scale. Trusting yourself is a HUGE part of the journey and I’m getting there, slowly. Click here to check out my updated weight progress page.

Other then that, if you didn’t notice I updated my twitter food journal tool. Click here to check it out. I’ve been using it the last few days and it’s been making journaling really fun (for this geek at least!) If you are interested in following my food journal account click here to check out RonisFood. If you’ve been considering keeping a food journal yourself, you should check out this article on the benefits. It talks about intuitive eating which I know some of you follow.

Things I’m working on… I have a ton of video footage I haven’t even begun to edit from my min-documentry (a day in the life). I’m going to get working on that before recording any new Ask Roni’s. I also have a post I’m working on and quite a full inbox to attend to. Oh! and of course the scale contest. If you haven’t entered click here to check it out. I may have a fun announcement about that in the next few days. Oh! Oh! I have books coming out of my ears too! So expect some book reviews these next few weeks.

Ok, I’m out. There no way the husband is going to get these lights up himself. Plus the toddler and I have a pile of leaves in the front yard that are just begging for us to jump into. :~)

Have a great night!

It feels like forever since doing a Thursday Thoughts post. I’m going to hop right into the random goodness! ;~)

First, you guys are going to TOTALLY think I’m making this up but believe me, I’m not that clever. A few weeks ago as a joke Charlie sent me this link about age and memory after I made a comment that I can’t seem to remember anything anymore. Well… wait for it… wait for it… I FORGOT to include it in my last Thursday Thoughts post. LOL Is that ironic or what? Wait… did I use ironic right? Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Whatever, I think it’s funny. LOL

Now for a giggle. A few weeks ago (can you tell I’m still trying to catch up) I asked everyone on twitter if they had any advice for me regarding "the cat" digging in my plants. I received a bunch of great advice and actually haven’t had a problem since (although she did kill my aloe plant. :~( Anyway, along with the great advice I received this link that cracks me up every time I watch it. What is so funny about throwing a cat of it’s guard?? It just cracks me up!

What do you see when you look at Halle Berry? I’ll admit it, in my younger days I wish I looked like Halle. I wish I had her body, her physique, her confidence in a swimsuit. Little did I know she also struggles with body image. Revealing recently that her body image role model is Kate Winslet! WHO (is someone else I also admire) struggled with body image issues herself! Saying recently "…once a fat kid, always a fat kid." Let’s think about this people, really. Even the women we see as being the most gorgeous, thinnest, confident women in the world struggle with body image. We as "normal" folk either hate or want to look like the actresses and models we see in magazines and on TV. While the actresses and models are struggling themselves. If anything this should be eye opening. Love who YOU are. Don’t compare, don’t be jealous, don’t envy. It’s not worth it. Life is way to short.

So let’s focus on health for a minute, instead of losing weight. Most of us are infatuated with being thinner that we forget that it has to be about getting healthier. One way I focus on healthy is by trying new and fun produce. Last year I did a pomegranate produce pick. It was the first time I tried the interesting fruit and now I’m hooked. As well, I should be, it good for me! If you are scared to try this intimating produce, check out the video the toddler and I did showing just how easy it is to clean it. We recorded this before I was made aware of the POM Fresh Fun contest! Darn it! I entered anyway but if I knew before hand I would have at least showered for the video! LOL

Since I already made the transition to GreenLiteBite links, I have to add I barely did anything on the food front this week. Besides my healthy lite Thanksgiving Stuffing recipe and this weeks video where the toddler and I make dinner, nothing else post worthy has been going on in my kitchen. Well, that’s not entirely true, I’m almost done finalizing a new oatmeal recipe for a Quaker contest they extended to us bloggers AND tonight I’ll be experimenting with red rice for a friend (does anyone have a good red rice recipe they want to share as I research?!? I never made it before.)

While I’m talking about GreenLiteBites I should also mention I added a new product to the store. A few people mentioned that the aprons where a little dry just having a logo on them so I designed a new kids apron using our friend the Mr. Broccoli. I also added a dark shirt with the famous broccoli on it. Yesterday I met with the designer and I have 3 more ideas in the works! I can’t wait to share them with you when they are done. Let’s just say the next few will be in honor of the toddler!

Let’s see… other then that, I think I can honestly say, nothing else is really going on (unless I’m forgetting something, which is probably the case.) My plan is to spend the next week or 2 organizing myself, my house and getting ready for Thanksgiving. I may have 13 people over for dinner! YIKES! It’ll be the first time I’m hosting a Turkey Day at my house! Monday I will be launching a new giveaway. I’ve made no significant progress on my cookbook since losing my last version (NOT thinking about it) and right now, my stomach is growling. I think it’s time to hit the kitchen for an early lunch. Which reminds me, I have two product reviews in the works as well! Ok, so maybe my “nothing else really going on” statement was a bit premature. :~)

Have an awesome Thursday!
