<p>Ok, so just a FEW words&#8230; <span id="more-3653"></span>these shots were taken this morning before I left for work. The waffles were pulled from the freezer, I made them with  <a href="http://greenlitebites.com/2008/06/23/quick-whole-grain-banana-pancakes/">homemade Banana Pancake batter</a> a few days ago. The melon is our <a href="http://greenlitebites.com/2009/06/22/produce-picks-ulgi-fruit-santa-claus-melon/">Santa Clause melon from this weeks video</a> and I threw in a <a href="http://greenlitebites.com/2009/03/31/makin-hard-boiled-eggs/">hard boiled egg (made like this)</a> for protein. See&#8230; breakfast can be healthy AND fast EVEN though the house is a mess and half of your belongings are boxed up and in the living room. Let&#8217;s just hope I can only keep this up! I don&#8217;t want to turn to the dark side and hit the Dunkin&#8217; Donuts drive through like the husband. His breakfast of choice&#8230; 3 chocolate frosted donuts&#8230; ugh! how come he&#8217;s not 300 lbs?!?  ;~P </p>

Not being a fan of pre-made breakfast sandwiches (ok, I&#8217;m weirded out by fast food egg, or any precooked egg for that matter, sue me) I told her I would have to decline but I&#8217;d be willing to pass on the offer to my readers. Did you ever think you&#8217;d read those words on my blog? :~) I was picking up donuts for the husband, don&#8217;t get me started, and I was hungry. UGH! Talk about temptation! Thankfully I was there after a run and honestly had no desire for a donut. But I was hungry, and that&#8217;s when I remembered DD Smart Menu. <span id="more-983"></span></p>
<p><img src="http://ronisweigh.com/resources/foodfinds/ddmenu.jpg" alt="Egg White Veggie Flatbread Sandwich" width="290" height="156" class="left" />I&#8217;ve been meaning to try an Egg White Veggie Flatbread Sandwich for weeks. Now, before I give you my review you have to understand my stance on fast food breakfasts. I hate them. I&#8217;m not kidding, there is something that grosses me out about fast food eggs. Plus they always pair it with cheese and I&#8217;m just not a fan of cheese and egg together. Yes, yes, I know, I&#8217;m crazy. </p>
<p>So where am I going with this? Oh yeah. Well, it was GOOD! I mean it. Cheese and all, I really liked this breakfast option. The egg white was firm, cooked through. The flatbread had a nice texture and flavor and I even didn&#8217;t mind the cheese slice! It wasn&#8217;t overbearing. </p>
<p>My biggest complain isn&#8217;t about the food but the fact that you can&#8217;t custom the order. I originally asked for no cheese but the sandwiches are pre-made so you don&#8217;t have a choice. Other then that and not being all nice and neat like the picture, it was a winner in my book. I can&#8217;t wait to try the Turkey Sausage one! </p>
<p>Here are my top picks from the menu. Be warned, don&#8217;t assume low points just because something&#8217;s on <a href="https://www.dunkindonuts.com/aboutus/BreakfastChoices/dd_smart_menu.aspx">the DD Smart menu</a>. The Reduced Fat Blueberry Muffin is still 8 points. Yikes! Makes me wonder about the &ldquo;regular&rdquo;! I don&#8217;t know about you but an 8 point muffin isn&#8217;t worth it. I&#8217;d rather have the egg sandwich and a tea with some fruit. </p>
<p>Oh! and don&#8217;t ask me why the veggie has more fat then the sausage, it makes NO sense to me! </p>

He is the reason I changed my lifestyle and perspective on health and life. He is my ultimate motivation and inspiration. And I am proud of not only the breakfast I have made for him but for the fact that we ate it together. </p>
<p><a href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/09/070901073612.htm">Studies show numerous benefits</a> when it comes to eating meals together but most people focus on dinner. I say let&#8217;s combine the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day with family time and make breakfast a non-negotiable commitment to a healthier lifestyle. </p>
<p>This morning we each ate a <a href="http://greenlitebites.com/2007/11/29/mommy-and-me-omelets/">1 egg omelet</a>. I paired mine with a whole wheat English muffin while the toddler enjoyed <a href="http://greenlitebites.com/2008/06/23/quick-whole-grain-banana-pancakes/">a leftover whole grain waffle (made from this pancake recipe)</a> toasted right out of the freezer topped with low sugar jelly.  We are out of produce as I haven&#8217;t hit the grocery store yet so our normal addition of fresh fruit was supplemented with a little watered downed 100% juice and I had some nice green tea. </p>
<p>Really I don&#8217;t think I could have started my day any better! </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s amazing what a little distraction does for me. I had my first day at a client site for a new project I have. It&#8217;s a long term deal and (you&#8217;re going to think I&#8217;m crazy) but I&#8217;m looking forward to the 2-3 days in an office. I never really realized how much &ldquo;work&rdquo; suits me. Not teaching but project work. I like solving problems and being creative and that&#8217;s what I&#8217;m allowed to do on web projects (and boy this one is a doozy!) </p>
<p><span id="more-517"></span></p>
<p>So the toddler had a day at camp and I had a day in the office. I started my morning with a filling breakfast (Grapenuts and berries), brought a few snacks (pineapple and Kashi bar) and hit a salad bar for lunch (added some protein with tuna and chick peas).  Dinner, well, I was just NOT in the mood. Me, not in the mood to cook. SEE it happens! ;~) So we got Chinese and I enjoyed my steamed chicken with veggies, and split a spring roll order with the toddler. For dessert some fruit and a little bit of ice cream, again, split with the toddler. Then I took my own advice and the family went out for a post dinner walk. I couldn&#8217;t go too far, I&#8217;m still quite sore and VERY swollen but it felt good to get moving. </p>
<p>After the toddler went to bed, <a href="http://ronisweigh.com/2008/06/ask-roni-q-video-v02.html">I recorded a (not very) quick video answering some questions</a>. It&#8217;s long, it&#8217;s sappy and it&#8217;s shaky but I&#8217;ll post it anyway. You can decide not to watch it.  ;~P</p>
<p>All in all, though, a great day! I just cannot wait to get real active again! Never in my life, NEVER, would Imagine in my wildest dream that I would MISS the gym as much as I do. I mean really, I&#8217;m craving a workout. </p>
<p>OH! and I drank 128oz of water! It didn&#8217;t help much with the swelling though. :~(</p>
