Progression Pics

This is my original Progresson photo page. My initial introduction was…

I can’t believe I’m doing this, but here is a pictorial journal of my weight loss. Starting with my before picture I plan on adding about 1 picture a month until I reach my goal weight.

It’s been over 6 years since I said that I love the fact that I can look back at these photos now. If you embarking on your own weight loss journey I highly recommend taking photographs, measurements or weigh-ins. Something that allows you to see your progress and celebrate how far you’ve come.

The notes below the photos are my original words when posting the photos.

Before Picture Taken 06/17/05

Before picture

This might be the least flattering picture I have of myself. In defense, it was 2 days after the toddler was born, but god, does it make a great before picture! I am approx 225 pounds in this.

1 Month Taken on 07/23/05

1 month

This was taken at the shore. 4 days before I weighed in at 191.4.

7 Weeks Taken on 08/18/05

 7 weeks

This as taken the day after I weigh-in at 183.2. I’ll have you know those are the first pair of jeans I’ve worn non maternity since about February!

13 Weeks Taken on 09/22/05

13 weeks

33.6 pounds gone! Taken the day after my weigh in at 173.2 pounds. Those shorts were un-wearable 8 weeks ago!

17 Weeks OP Taken 10/21/05

17 weeks

I took this 2 days after I weighed in at 168.4. These jeans are a size 12 I found in my closet, have no idea when I got them, but there are baggy!! 10’s are a little too tight still, but maybe in a next few weeks I’ll be there.

23 Weeks OP Taken 11/30/05

23 weeks

This was taken the day I weighed in at 158.6. 10lbs since my last picture and those are size 10 jeans baby!

27 Weeks OP Taken 12/30/05

27 weeks

This is 2 days after I weighed in with a 1.8 lbs gain after Christmas at 152.4. As you can see I really shouldn’t be wearing those jeans. I finally agree, bigger clothes do not make you look better. Those are size 12’s! I look thinner in the 10’s above and I was 4 lbs heavier!

32 Weeks Taken 02/04/06

32 weeks

This was taken 2 days after I weighed in at
146.4. I am actually below goal! You will not believe what size those jeans are, I hardly believe it myself! 8’s!! And they fit perfectly! Much better then the 12’s above.

36 Weeks Taken 03/03/06

image of Roni on 03/03/06Another Image of Roni on 03/03/06

The day after I reached my goal of making lifetime member at weight Watchers and weighing in at 142.2lbs! I bought this dress in honor of making goal a few weeks ago. It’s a size 8 and I plan on wearing it to a wedding this fall. Of course the picture I liked the best didn’t come out great (the one on the right) so I tried to brighten it up a bit.

Those who know me know I NEVER wear anything with my arms exposed! This is a first! Man I wished I was that skinny on my wedding day! ;) ;)

42 Weeks Taken 04/16/06

42 week on Plan

I’ll say it again, only because I can’t believe it! Those are size 6! There a little snug but who cares?!? I love them! This was taken a few days after I weighed in at 138.

56 Weeks Taken 07/18/06

56 weeks on plan

This is me on vacation this year. A few people requested some maintenance photos. This is my 56th week on plan, 20 weeks after making lifetime. I’m about 136 pounds in this photo and it’s 5 weeks after my tummy tuck.

64 Weeks Taken 09/13/06

Roni 64 weeks OP

I wasn’t planning on updating this section for awhile but someone shot this picture of me and it reminded me of the pictures I’d take for web site. This was taken 64 weeks after starting weight Watchers. I was about 138 lbs. This will be the last picture I post for awhile, at least until my 2 year weight Watchers anniversary.

116 Weeks Taken 09/25/07

Roni 64 weeks OP

WOW It’s been a YEAR since posting. I guess since I reached my weight loss goal it wasn’t as important for me to post progress pictures. But, as requested, here you go! I snapped this before going to work today. The morning scale reading was 142 and those are size 6 dress pants. It’s also been about 2 months since I started working out and circuit craning. I think I’m starting to see results. Especially in my arms!

150 Weeks Taken 06/15/08

Roni 64 weeks OP

That’s me, first thing in the morning! I snapped it right after posting my latest tummy tuck photos. I have to admit, I have no idea what I weigh in this picture. It’s been about 2 weeks since weighing in officially. I’d guess about 145. I can tell you those are an Old Navy size 4 shorts and a large tank. (I’m NOT normally a size 4 – more of a 6). My weight is up from my lowest but I’ve built a lot of muscle over the past 10 months and I’m totally happy with my size – Still strange to say that!

No IDEA how many weeks – Taken July 4, 2013

Screen Shot 2013-07-09 at 12.39.26 PM

Has it really been FIVE YEARS since I updated this page? That Instagram snap reminded me of these old body shots I used to take.  If you’ve been keeping up on the blog you know I had another baby, I’m now a CrossFit addict, still running, and am overall rocking maintenance. My body is changing in interesting ways and I’m committed to simply letting it be the result of my lifestyle. I stopped weighing in, again, and I now focus on eating pretty intuitively while falling back on food journaling if I need a shot of accountability. Oh and I cut off all my hair again too. :)

    Roni,
Thank you for your site… I just had a baby–she’s nearly six months–;) I am on a simi WW program…doing it myself at home w/the help of your site and others.
I was about the same start weight five days ago. I’ve already lost five pounds. Yeah!! Thanks!
    You look fit & healthy.
    Mrs. Allen

  • Emily

You look amazing; I’m having a hard time with maintenance right now- it has been a struggle for the last few months. As of May I was LT for 2 years though and the highest I’ve been above goal was still only 7 lbs…once! I just feel unmotivated, stuck in a rut. Thanks for continuing to inspire us to stay on track. I’m sure with the help of you’re site “this too shall pass.”

  • Anonymous

I just wish I could get started. I read your website and I feel inspired, but I can’t translate it to reality. Any advice? I know once I start I will feel great, but I just can’t do it.

  • Roni

Anonymous – It’s ALL bout that first day! Take it choice by choice.

Give yourself that first day, you are worth it! then the next is easier and the next after that even EASIER!

  • Anonymous

Your newest photo is FABULOLUS!! I’ve been LT for 10 months, and we all know, you can’t ever really let your guard down…. Your story has been very inspirational to me and many, many others, I’m sure!! Can you even relate to the woman you were before the weight loss? I feel like it’s a constant rediscovery.

  • Roni

Barely and YES it is a Constant rediscovery!

  • Fashion Consultant

    Roni,
You look great I think it’s time for some sexy lingerie shots you would tell people that you can go from sweat suits to sexy and you should be proud to show off. You should also paint those cute feet with shiny red nail polish get some sheer hose and open toe strappy high heeled sandals would look positively ravishing and you would get a lot of nice attention from the guys or most importantly from your man remember it’s great to look and feel sexy you have that responsibility and you are there now

  • Alexis Nicole

Thank you so much for this site, you’re awesome for doing this!! I’ll be back often…

  • Anonymous

I start WW tomorrow. I feel inspired with your site. It has a little bit of everthing. But the biggest part is you are passing it on that then changes your status to a blessing. Thanks!

  • Yin Teing

Love your site! It’s an inspiration and I’ll tell my friends bout your site- some of them could use some real motivation. Merry Xmas!

    Roni –
THANK YOU for sharing your amazing journey. I am on my own journey… and continue to inspired by you – and others like you. Though I have only lost 16 pounds (in 4 months) I feel SO much better and know I have ACTUALLY changed my habits! Your site is awesome – inspiring and USEFUL! We always need new recipes!
    You go girl!!!

Awesome. Thanks for posting such an inspiring set of posts. I figure if you can do it, so can we. I found some pretty cool exercise DVD’s here http://www.schtupatmonkee.com/335677.html and are pretty cheap. I like to exercise at home first (in privacy), and get in shape first, then go out and show off! Anyway, Congrats and a big pat on the back!

One of the best parts of this progression of pictures is watching how your FACE changed! Good heavens, that’s so neat! You looked happy and wonderful at all stages of your progress, which I think is a wonderful statement about how positive you must be … but those final photos just seem to show you with an even bigger happy glow! Congrats and thank you so much for making these pics available for inspiration. :)

Gosh your story is amazing! My question is, How did you get your husband to go along and eat these things?? Mine feels like his throat is being cut…

    Thanks!

    Kelli

  • Roni

    Kelli – It’s simple!
He eats what I cook or he doesn’t. It’s his choice. LOL

  • Ready Maid

Well, add my HURRAY to everybody else who is oohing and ahing over your fabulous makeover. I’m particularly fascinated because your beginning weight and goal weight are almost identical to mine. Even though you are much younger, I am SO motivated by your photos. Thanks for your transparency. You GO, girl!

    Hi Roni,

It’s amazing what you can find online when your searching for great recipes for spagheti squash. Your website is inspiring!! I started my journey 2yrs ago and have gotten rid of 90lbs. Starting size 16 now size 3. Using the same principles as weight watchers but at home. The daily journal is a big help. Now I am saving for a tummy tuck. No matter how much everyone says your thin, I look down and still see that extra skin that no amount of aerobics, yoga and daily walking has removed. So far my struggle is maintaining,(I realize that you can always put it back on) because dropping weight is easier. How do you maintain? I weigh every morning but like most everyone I will bounce up and down. Thanks for the recipes and I plan on growing lots of those squash’s this summer. It’s incredible how much younger you look by just loosing the weight-now I can see through your pictures what I’ve been hearing. Thanks for your website and I hope that others will stumble on this site and realize that it’s a lifestyle change that starts one meal, snack at a time. God Bless YOU!!

    How inspiring! You look wonderful!

I’m a mommy of 5 and I’m about to start the diet! If I can just lose 35 pounds, I’ll be SO thrilled!

    Congrats on doing so fabulous!

You are amazing. I wanted, I think, too long to start weight watchers after having my daughter. I was at 210 also when I had my daughter and I am currently at 185, my daughter will be 2 in august, so there hasnt been much progress. I am finally really motivated and joined WW in late january and seeing how well you have done is really inspiring. Thank you for posting everything. I had a question about your tummy tuck, but if it is personal I understand, do you have to wait till you are done having kids? and What was your experience like? if you dont mind sharing. Thank you again, you look beautiful.

  • Roni

    Thank you guys so much!

Anon – As for the TT and kids, I just added it to my FAQ’s

I found your page because I was looking on the internet for Whole Wheat Orzo! Your site popped up on the list and here I am a month later. What a great site! Your progress and your recipes inspire me. I just knew there had to be a tastier way to lose weight and get healthy than the way I’ve been doing things. I’ve lost 30 pounds since October, but I’ve lost my drive recently. The meal plan I have is boring and I live in a world filled with thin people, so it’s been tough. I will be using some fo your recipes tonight at dinner and getting back in the swing of things! I’ve been a 3-4 times a week regular at the gym since October, and truly enjoy that part of my journey, it’s just the food part I struggle with! If you have any advice or tips to help me get back on track and stay there, send them my way…Thanks for being here!!

i’d like to see pics from before the pregnancy too. it’s really common for women to put on weight during pregnancy, and to lose a lot while breastfeeding. I’m curious if you breast fed, for how long, and how much you cut your caloric intake during this time. Breastfeeding demands a lot of calories….so i think it’s something worth including in the discussion. You do look very healthy, and I’m happy for you.

  • Roni

    Thanks everyone!
Last anonymous, check out my comparison photos, there are alot college pics there, 6 years before baby.

Breastfeeding did play a hand, but I changed my eating habits DRASTICALLY. It could have been just as easy for me to hold on to the weight and/or gain it back post breastfeeding. I did it for the 15 years before having a child.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Anonymous

You look amazing! Your video log shows also how you’ve really maintained it. That’s my biggest fear, that I’ll reach the end and rebound. It’s so inspirational to see someone who did it and looks terrifically healthy now and yet I *know* used to be just like me.

May I ask, I feel kind of embarrassed about it so it’s okay if you don’t answer, you mentioned your tummy tuck in the blog, did you end up doing the breast lift too? If so, you haven’t mentioned how that worked out. Was there a lot of pain and scaring? How long did it take to recover? Did it make a difference in how you felt (like how your back musclees felt) as well as how your clothes fit?

  • Roni

    Thanks everyone!!

Anon- should me an Ask Roni question and I’ll answer you via email about the breast lift.

  • Afton

You are so inspiring. I weighed 220 about 9 months ago, the started doing herbalife.. I am now down to 185, and am stuck. I ate several vanilla wafers today knowing that I would like to wear a bathing suit sometime this summer, and will, I was almost ready to call it quits. I just happened to be surfing the net, and came upon your website. If so many people have been able to do this, so can I. My will to wear a size 7 again is greater than the will I had to bake a batch of brownies. I’ll keep you posted. The rest of my journey begins now! PS-You look faboulous!

    Hi Roni -
I found your site on weight watchers … so I came to look around.
You are so inspiring! You look absolutely great! Thank you for the information on the tummy tuck…
I don’t have too much to lose – I figure another 12 pounds will do it, but my goodness it is slow going.
But I will perservere – It helps me a lot to see someone who has been so successful at this.
    Congratulations to you.

The first thing I noticed about your progression pictures is how much YOUNGER you look thinner. I have had 2 children in the last 2 years and have gained a significant amount of weight. I am the heaviest I have ever been and joined weight Watchers at the beginning of January 07. I weighed in @ 217.5 my first week and I have already lost 15 pounds. My goal for this week is to lose enough so that I can be in the 1’s again. I turn 30 in June and my goal is to lose 50 pounds by then. That is not all I want to lose though. I would like to be at my goal weight by the end of the year. I have a long road ahead of me, but seeing sites like yours are a true inspiration. Keep up the fantastic work! You look FABULOUS dahling! :o)

I am laughing at your size 8 vs. 12 pictures! I just last night bough my first pair of 8’s. I’ve been wearing 12s for the past 30 pounds! :) Our stats looks so similar.

    Congrats on your success.

    Roni,

I just stumbled upon this page when I was searching for some WW information. You are an inspiration! I started WW in January and have seen results, but they are slow. I have lost about 15 pounds now and am officially below the weight I was before I got pregnant (my son is now 5 months old)! Hooray! I still have about 45 pounds to go to get to my goal weight. You are an inspiration though that it will work for anyone if you just stick with it. I hope I can get in to size 8s..its been so long!

Thanks for all of the pictures and congrats on your success you look wonderful!

Thank you showing your progression. Since having my first child, quitting smoking, then having my 2nd,3rd, and 4th child, I have been struggling with losing the same 30 pounds. Seeing your story made me cry and it inspires me to stay on track even through the stress of everyday life. Thank you!

GREAT idea with the before, during, and after pictures. I never thought of doing that before, but I can definitely see how it would be helpful to see how far you’ve come. I usually avoid cameras at all costs :) Oh yeah, you’ve also inspired me to not take my 8’s and 10’s to the Goodwill quite yet! They might be out of style by the time I get to wear them, but oh well!

    Roni,

I just started looking through your site and have been close to tears a few times. I bought scales 3 weeks ago and weighed 190lbs. I started dieting immediately and realized within a few day that if I didn’t do something else, I would start cheating myself within another week or so and never get anywhere. I joined WW at 186lbs and am hooked – yesterday I was 181lbs. At 5′7″ I haven’t set my goal weight yet and was thinking 145 and size 12 – before kids I was 140 and size 10. I have time to reconsider this, and may very well set higher standards for myself as you have done – those extra 4 dress sizes are amazing – I don’t think I’ve been in size 8 since jr. high. I will book-mark your site and thank you for having it.

    Roni,

I am so touched by your story. You look so fantastic. I am the same height, maybe a little taller but not much. I am 200lbs. I have stopped getting on the scale and often I cry. I found your story on my msn home page and here I am. As I write this I am crying because I so often wonder if I am ever going to be able to lose any weight. I lost 32 lbs a few years ago but then just let it all go. I am miserable and I look at you and your story makes me want it even more. You are truly an inspiration to me. Keep up all your hard work! I hope to find the same success you have. I have never really beleived that WW worked but I have to say that I am having second thoughts about it.

    Thank you,

    Jennifer

Fantastic job!! I am so proud of you!!! It is so difficult o lose wieght and stick to it. People dont realize that its more than just not eating the wrong foods and eating the right ones.
How much were you losing per month? looks like 10 lbs… and what kind of activity, working outs did you do? Your arms look great! not flabby or anything! I have noticed that with wieght watchers memebers. The leaders are not flabby! Even my leader who lost 228pounds!!!

Hi Roni! Your blogspot sure inspired me. I have two kids already and I never got back to my pre-pregnancy weight (105 lbs) since then. My 2nd baby is now 5 months old and im seriously planning to get back to my normal weigh. I need to lose a total of 40 lbs and I’ve been in the route of dieting and taking slimming pills. I lose a pound every now and then only to gain it later. Planned diets are good but it must be coupled with discipline and the proper attitude towards weight lost. Easier said than done actually but after visitng your site, you are very inspiring. Thanks again.

Very cool how you documented your weight lose through photos. I think I’ll try that! I joined weight watchers 5 weeks ago and have lost approximately 13 lbs. I say approximately because I weigh again in a couple of days. Your site is very motivational. Thank you.

  • Jenifer

I found your site through dietsinreview.com and you have really inspired me to stick with my WW. I did great at it for 6 months, but then got back into old habits. Bookmarked your site for inspiration when I need it. Thanks!

  • Amber

Hi Roni! I’ve been reading your blog for a couple weeks now and you’re really getting me motivated. I always used to struggle with my weight, with it being about 160 at my highest. Then I had three kids! I lost all the weight and more after the birth of my first son, but then I had my second and third sons only 14 mos apart. After my third son (he’s 8 mos now) I can’t believe the scale has been reading 225 for months now! Since reading your blog and finally deciding the “I just had a baby excuse” can’t work when he’s a year old…I have now decided to try to lose this weight. I’ve lost 7 pounds so far and have a long way to go.

I have a question for you…since you had a tummy tuck and I think I’ll need one of those in the future too. Hopefully this isn’t too personal, but do you plan on having more kids, and if you do, what happens to the tummy? I want a tummy tuck and boob job (implants), but also might want another child in the future (I’m 31 now…so maybe in 2-5 years). I don’t know if I want to wait until I’m done having kids…it seems like a long time to wait.

Thanks so much for your page. Hope you’re having a great vacation!

    Hi Roni,
I stumbled upon your website while I was looking for weight watchers advice. I was thinking of starting WW. I am someone who eats really healthy food (not processed, organic, cooks most of my meals) but has stopped exercising and now found myself at the top of my weight cycle.
I am not “obese” but continue to gain and lose 20-25 lbs over 10 years.
I have NEVER been at a stable weight for more than 1 yr in my 20s or 30s. My issue is that I “decide” one day that it is “time”. I eat really healthy (not really dieting but portion control and ALOT of exercise). I basically become obsessed. If i don’t workout and eat right, I actually get depressed. This perfectionist comes out in me. If I can’t be perfect at losing weight, I just don’t do it. So in turn, the mental energy that it takes to maintain this ideal weight proves too much and I stop exercising and eat too many calories and here I am again 20-25 lbs heavier.

Oddly enough, I always say that I am happier heavier than when I am in my best shape. I.e. it occupies most of my mental time when I am at my ideal weight/BMI. But unfortunately, when I am heavier, I am not really happier either. Basically, I am seeking to get to a point where I can live my life, enjoy dinners out, time with friends and family AND exercise without become obsessive. I am at my top weight of 153 and need to be at 125-30 to be healthy (I have a history of diabetes in my family and this is the weight my primary care doctor wants me to be at…)
When you lost the weight, how did you make a lifestyle change without losing your lifestyle and preserve mental time for things other than exercise and weight. Basically, I want to get to a “feel good inside my body” weight without becoming obsessed and anxious.

    Thanks for your time!
    Gray

    Hi Gray!

I have to say this… it took a LONG time for me. And sometimes I still “regress”.
I’m not sure what the answer is except moderation. You seem to be on two ends of the spectrum, which is very common. You say…

“My issue is that I “decide” one day that it is “time”. ”

That says to me there is still an on/off switch for you. I think we need to change our mentality from that to “every decision we make is its own”. Leave the all or nothing concept behind. Know what I mean?

I hope that helps a little.

Heya there :) I am proud of you, by god you where really a beutifull woman as you can see now that youve lost your overweight :)

I lost over 65 pounds whilest growing 10cm’s 2 years ago… Im a guy :) I know how hard it can be :) Did you have any problems with loose skin?

  • Vanessa

The progressive pics of your tummy tuck are great. I’ve recently lost 25 lbs and just got a tummy tuck one week ago. I must confess I feel like Frankenstein. I’m actually 5 ls heavier than when I went in to surgery. The logical side of my brain knows it’s from swelling, but the irrational girl side says OMG! and wants to go pig out on Doritos or jog 2 miles I can’t decide which. I go back to work tomorrow and am looking forward to getting back on my healthy eating routine. I do not do well with staying at home all day (way too much temptation). Thanks again for the pics!

WOW!!!! You look great…just seeing your photos makes me want to really give WW my all. I am 26 and had my first child a year ago. It seems like just yesterday I was celebrating my 21st birthday in my size 8 jeans and now 5 years and 1 beautiful baby later I am barely squeezing into a size 18. This is the biggest I have ever been and probably the saddest I have ever felt about my body. Having been an athlete starting as a young child all the way through college I never had an issue with weight or the size of my clothes, but looking back there was no need for me to worry since I was healthy, fit and in great shape. I hope to be able to achieve my goal as you did yours and maybe one day I will look back at my pictures and be in aww of where I was and where I am. You are an inspiration!

Thank you so much for your page. I started out last week exactly where you were when you started. My ultimate goal is to lose the 70 pounds. Here’s to a long, but well-needed journey.

  • http://gettingintoskinnyjeans.blogspot.com/ Lucy

Wow, what an inspiration journey! Can you offer any advice to someone with a long way to go? I’ve just started blogging and I have about 60 lbs to lose, I’d love to reach goal by November ’09. You definitely make it seem possible!

  • http://debbyweighsin.wordpress.com debby

Dear Roni, I just watched your video and decided to check out your progress pics (even though I thought I’d probably seen them before) and I just wanted to tell you how helpful they were to me. The ones that impressed me the most were the ones of you at 168# and 158#. Those are the weights I struggle between (obviously now at 168) and its kind of that body dysmorphic disorder, i.e. I think I really looked better at 158, and then I will think no, it really wasn’t that better, you just thought you looked better, and then I will say, well think of 10 boxes of butter–that would be a lot…blah, blah, blah. I’m just trying to say, your pics show me that there is a ton of difference in how you look between those two weights. Thank you!

  • Mia

You are such an inspiration…This is my 3rd time on WW…the first time i lost 68.8 lbs then I fell off the wagon…second time I did it for a few weeks and again fell off..now i’m more commited than ever before…..Love your sites…..Mia

  • http://www.blogtolose.com/profiles/blogs/bad-day-turned-sucessful Heather Mann

These pics are absolutely amazing! I have a question though…you lost 34 lbs in your first month? The info from the first picture to the second shows that you went from 225 lbs. on 6/17/05 to 191 lbs. on 7/23/05. That’s a lot of weight in one month…those are the results I would like to see. What were you doing? What should I be doing that I’m obviously not?

    Heather

  • http://ronisweigh.com roni

Heather – the first month can hardly be considered a bench mark. I had 2 6lb losses in the first 3 weeks. My body was coming off the pregnancy. I was losing water weight while my body was adjusting to less salt, whole foods etc. You may not be doing anything wrong, you really can’t compare as our bodies may be completely different.

Sorry, not sure if that was much help.

What a beautiful progression! Thank you for posting these. I just started the Weight Watchers program and I’m hoping for similar results.

  • Kelly

It did me good to look at these! I have been with WW for 28 weeks and have lost 34 pounds. I am 12 pounds from goal and have been fighting with myself for weeks- just hovering within 1-2 pounds of the same weight since the first week of March. I keep “rebelling” by eating off plan or skipping workouts. I don’t know why I sabotage myself repeatedly after doing so well for so long.
I read the posts from last week about “Funkville” and looked at these pictures today and I began to see what is going on with my journey isn’t unique. We all have little bumps in the road and stalls to get thru!
Just knowing that makes it all seem more manageable.
Thanks again Roni- and all who post! I really appreciate the community.

  • Karyn

    Congratulations!l

I met my wife of 20 years, who is 157 cm (5’3″), when she weighed only 114 pounds. I would call that almost anorectic.

She got a daughter 7 years ago and twin girls 3 years ago. After that , she reduced her weight from 200 pounds (at pregnancy) down to a mere, and stable, 130 pounds.

She did this by doing *hard work* at the dinner table and by exercising. I am *very* proud of her. But I guess that part of the solution was that I loved her all the way. I loved her when she as 114 pounds, when she was 200 pounds, and now that she is 130 pounds.

Of course she is the most beautiful woman in the world.

  • Alison

Came across this when looking up info on tummy tucks. What a great site!!!! I was always a healthy, size 6 (at my biggest 8) until I had my two children. I currently weigh a LOT more than I ever dreamed that I would. I work out regularly, but eat way too many calories during the day. I guess my metabolism has slowed down. (I am 39). I would like to get a tummy tuck, but not until I lose the 25 pounds or so that dog me.

This is really interesting. And inspiring. Sounds like WW works for a lot of people out there. Obviously, my system isn’t working!!! thanks for sharing.

As if that wasn’t enough, the last pic is how you look first thing in the morning?! Oh my word…your husband is one seriously lucky guy. (It’s still hard to believe that very first pic is really you.)

Congratulations! I wish you much continued success; may your every dream come true.

    Hi,
I found your site by searching about swelling. I just had a Tummy Tuck Nov. 17th I am so proud of my results but was wondering if I’d get that flat tummy look from the front and side view. Then I saw your photos and read what you had written and the pics were me:) It has given me hope to see how you were and where you are now. Thanks for sharing. You look beautiful..
    Sincerely,
    Tina

Found your blog through Woman’s Day. I have been released from 110 lbs, and STILL counting since 2007. When I saw your pictures I thought to myself, you look completely different. I feel the same way when I look at previous pictures of myself. I no longer look the same way, but on the inside I’ve changed too, I think that is the greatest transformation…

    blessings to you and yours.

GIRLS! LIVE WITH HOW GOD MADE YOU. DO THE BEST YOU CAN TO KEEP YOURSELF IN SHAPE; i.e. EXCERCISE, EATING PROPERLY. AVOID SURGERY AT ALL COSTS.

WHY IS EVERYONE SO VAIN? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHEN YOU GET REALLY OLD? AGE GRACEFULLY!

  • http://ronisweigh.com roni

AJ – I’m not sure why are you screaming at us “GIRLS” when in fact I am a WOMEN who IS trying the best she can.

As for aging, I, for one, am enjoying the aging process. When I get old I’ll be doing what I’m doing right now. Enjoying life, finding balance, and having no regrets.

I appreciate your comment but preach somewhere else please.

To Roni–Congratulations on achieving a healthy weight, maintaining it, and managing to develop a healthy body image in the process, and thank you for sharing all aspects of your journey with so many people, so we can see that having a setback is not an excuse to quit. :)

To Roni’s readers–I enjoy this site because it is an inspiration to me…it tells me that I can set a goal and reach it because Roni did, and if she did it (as an ordinary woman), so can I. I will never see the bad in that, and I hope that those who enjoy this website the same way that I do will continue to read, learn, and grow.

what an absolute inspiration! I’ve been following GLB for a while now, and just stopped over here. I always noticed the WW points, but never actually realized what a journey you had. Read the blog, viewed the pictures. Truly amazing and inspiring. I just started WW 1.5 weeks ago and have already lost 7 lbs as of my last weigh in. I know the loss is higher now but I won’t know the number until Wednesday. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I’m in control again and it is a wonderful feeling. I took a before picture and I plan on periodically taking progression pictures as well. Maybe one of these days I will be able to suck it up and post them in a blog. I’m getting there. I just need more time.

Wow, awesome results. I’ve been trying to loose weight since my son was born in Dec. 2007. Since then I’ve lost a little, but have also had another child in Mar 2010. I was able to loose everything I gained with my second pregnancy, but am still still struggling to loose the weight I gained from my first pregnancy. (oh, and I had c-sections with both) When I weighed myself about a month ago I was 263 lbs. For my height I’m only supposed to weigh around 135 lbs. I would be happy with 150lbs, but it is a struggle for me to loose weight. I can’t afford to spend too much for a weight loss program, but love the results you got. If you don’t mind my asking how much did your weight watchers program cost? I don’t want to loose the weight for anyone else, I want to loose it so I can be comfortable with me again. I used to be very self-confident when I weighed 140lbs and wore a size 11 (I have wide hips) I would love to be that size again. What is your secret?

  • http://ronisweigh.com roni

WW is about 10-12 a week. I don’t follow it anymore though, they have since changed the program. These posts may shed some light on “my secrets”… http://ronisweigh.com/2008/10/3-steps-to-a-healthier-you-a-series.html

Ditto you are an inspiration. I found you while watching my neighbor’s dog for an hour and reading First magazine. I came home and immediately looked you up.

I think I’m the oldest of your fans at 61. I’ve done WW and it is a good program. This time I decided to do it on my own. I didn’t want a weekly weigh in to mess with my mind if the number wasn’t what I expected. I’ve lost two sizes and feels so good. And now that I found you on GLB, how great is that to help me on my continued journey to be healthy in body and spirit.

You are doing a fabulous job!!! I really enjoy the information and recipes you are putting out there and suggested to my daughters to look you up! PS you make it simple for seniors!

  • erinp

Hi, Roni: Just wanted to say you are such an inspiration! This is my second week watching what I eat and making sure I get AT LEAST 20 mins of exercise a day (usually I bike for about 45 mins – hour). I’ve bookmarked your page so I can visit it when things are slow or when I need a little pick-me-up! Thanks for creating this…and for supplying the chart! I look forward to weighing in and charting my progress (week 1 – 4 pounds! and that’s AFTER having my favorite foods in moderation!). Ciao bella!

Wow amazing. I just wanted to say that you are inspiring. I am currently on weight watchers and I am in my 3rd week. I am already down 7.2 pounds but I have about 73 more to go. I just started my blog today… I can’t wait where my journey takes me because yours looks fantastic!

Not sure if you even check this anymore since the last post was 11 months ago… but I have to tell you that I love your blog our stories are very similar (thoug I have not had any surgeries – would love a belly tuck) I am a mother of 3 (youngest just turned year 8/31) however, I agree on so much – its not about the scale after a while. I weigh 8lbs more now than I did 5 months ago yet I am a whole size down.. I dont always check in with the scale (used to be daily just to keep a visual check) but if I feel I am slacking I start journaling! Anyway I just wanted to tell you I loved taking a glance into your journey and it inspires me to look back into mine

You did really well over the years to get to this point. It’s the norm for people to give up exercise when the results don’t come strong and fast. Our bodies don’t work like that.Everything takes time, just as it takes time for our bodies to get out of shape,it takes even more time to get in shape based on our determination and motivation to aquire the desired results.

  • http://hippotohot.blogspot.com Shana

Wow…what an amazing transformation! I agree that people should definitely take pictures during weight loss. I think some people are scared of pictures, but it can be such an empowering tool once we’re well ahead on our journey. Congratulations on maintaining!!
