6 miles down…. 20 to go!?!
I did it! This morning was the Baltimore Running Festival and I did my 6 mile relay. It was the longest I ever ran and I loved every minute of it!
Don’t get me wrong, about 4 miles into it I was playing mind games with myself and I started to question if I could do it. But then I’d see a family on the side of the road cheering on their mom or a couple on their stoop watching the race and I’d smile. It didn’t matter that the signs weren’t for me I was there, running, part of it, part of the event and that felt AMAZING. Addictive even.

Remember how confident and cocky I was when I posted the weekend quote. Yea, well, I sure enjoyed myself this weekend. I enjoyed the stuffed shells, fresh Italian Bread, Chocolate Cheesecake, meatballs, pizza a-n-d ice cream. Mixed in with all the indiscretions was a lot of healthy stuff too, whole wheat pancakes, papaya smoothie, salmon, a ton of veggies and more then my fair share of water.

iTunes and My First 5 Mile Run!
First the run, only for the pure fact that I’m ecstatic about it and I just ran (no pun intended) out of time last night to tell you all!

WOW! I mean, I signed up for the relay knowing that I’d have to run 6 miles but I never really thought of actually running it and now that I accomplished 5, I KNOW I can do 6. I’m getting much more confident! [Read more →]
