Today was an AMAZING today! It was exactly what Sensational Sundays are all about. Taking control, feeling productive, preparing for the week, spending time with the family and resting. It’s a lot to jam pack in a single 24 hours but totally worth it to set the tone for the week. And we needed it, especially this week.

I feel a funk coming on and have no desire to "talk" this Sunday evening. However, even in my current irrational state I can recognize just how amazing my weekend really was. Sometimes pausing to reflect and be grateful makes fat thoughts seem utterly ridiculous. I really did have a fabulous weekend. It all started with filling our fridge with good healthy food. I want, I need, to go to bed early tonight. Trying to get back to a routine after returning from vacation is proving difficult. Like it or not Monday morning is coming and I really want to start my week with a run before work. I have a 7 mile event on Sunday (I updated my running goals page with June’s event info) that sort of snuck up on me! Regardless it will be fun.

I had the most most most AMAZING weekend. Friday the husband and I packed up and headed to Pennsylvania for my dear friends wedding. I’ve been wanting to write about this particular friend for a long time but haven’t had the guts. It’s hard to post about people you love when you blog as transparently as I do.

In a nutshell this friend is one my heroes. She is beautiful inside and out. Confident. Fun. Loving. Compassionate. Utterly amazing. When she walks into a room, believe me, you notice. I admire her so much and she inspires me more then she realizes.

I’m going to simply leave you with a few pictures from her big day and cut tonight’s post short. It was the perfect wedding weekend and let me tell you, I ate my way through it. Today started a little slow. I was a bit unmotivated to hit the pavement for my 5 mile training run. Sometimes getting on my shoes is the hardest part but as many runners will tell you.. you never regret a run that you have done; only the one’s you haven’t. So I complained on twitter and then got my butt up off the couch and got ready.

The first 2 miles were great and then it got hard. Real hard. I was crampy, tired and my legs felt SO heavy. BUT it was BEAUTIFUL out. I’m so glad I got out there to enjoy it. [Read more →]
