Stepping Out of My Own Way

7 Comments 1579 views

Recently I had to go through a lot of old photos and videos, and boy has it got me feeling old! Not only did the boys look so young, I looked so much younger than I do now and I only went back a couple of years.

Not that it matters. It was just something I noticed.

Anyway, so far this week has been treating me pretty well. I feel good besides an allergy attack here or there. I’ve been eating well, getting to my 6 am workouts (which are again routine for me and I love it!), the gym is running fairly smoothly, the kids have been good (mostly), and I’ve been carving out a few minutes to practice guitar almost every day again!

Today was my 30-minute lesson and I came home able to do this!

Anybody know what song it is?

The fact that I can play a melody that’s actually recognizable is almost incomprehensible to me. I watched my dad and my brother both play guitar growing up and not once did I look at it and think, “I could do that!”

On the contrary, I just assumed I couldn’t.

I’m not sure why, and the older I get I realize I thought that way about so, SO, many things. Many of those things I do now!

I always knew I was my own worst enemy.

I think the best part of getting older is gaining the ability to recognize that and then step out of your way.

The worst part?

Wrinkles.

For sure.

So far anyway.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I can relate. There are so many things that I’ve just always thought “weren’t for me” or that I couldn’t do. Turns out, I was wrong! I’m determined not to miss out on any more opportunities.

Every Rose Has Its Thorn! You did great! I got it right away. And the best part is when you say it makes you happy. Isn’t that what it’s all about! You go Roni!!!!!!!
