Armstrong Pull-Up Program – Week 1

I did it! One full week on the Armstrong Pull-Up Program.

Armstrong Pull-Up Program - Week 1

I used bands for assistance and no day took longer than 15 minutes even with the built in rest periods.

Most days I did my push-ups in the morning and then before leaving work I’d do the assisted pull-ups. My goal is 9 more weeks. I can’t wait to see if I progress.

This weekend I’m also going to start running again. I have to just bite the bullet already. It’s a habit I simply got away from and even though I miss it I’m not actually doing it. I need a little activation energy!

The last couple of days I’ve been a bit sluggish. My food choices haven’t been stellar. I haven’t been pushing myself much at the gym even though I kept up the pull-up program.

I have, however, been LOVING my guitar practice time.

Today I snuck in about 10 minutes of practice before work (#wycwyc!) and I was inspired to write this on IG…

“I can’t run!”
….
“I’m not a writer.”
….
“Me? An “Athlete?” Ha!”
….
“The music gene skipped over me for sure!”
….
I have said all those things yet I’ve run 2 marathons, published a book, compete in CrossFit comps regularly and am now learning the guitar and absolutely LOVING IT!!

P.S. I’ve accomplished all of these things after the age of 30. I could be mad at myself for not figuring out I was the only one holding myself back sooner. Or I can celebrate how far I’ve come and keep pushing myself out of that scary comfort zone place I used to hide in.

I choose the latter.

So even though I’m fighting a little bit of a slump I’m feeling really content right now in a different way. It’s hard to explain.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

If you really miss/like running…then you would do it…

      You’re right. That’s why I just ran.
