Photos From a Snowy Sensational Sunday

We survived the Blizzard of 2016!

Now that it’s all said and done we have about 2 and a half feet out there. It’s a bit crazy. The Husband and I shoveled and shoveled and shoveled!

Our neighbor helped at the end with his snowblower and we were ecstatic to get a break.

The kids? They didn’t need a break. They were loving it!

We haven’t left the house in the last 2 days. We pretty much eat, shovel, eat again, and then lounge around all day.

I can’t lie. It’s been pretty fantastic!

Tomorrow I’ll be headed to the gym to man some open hours. The kids are off and probably will be for at least 2 more days. The roads are mess and I’m sure lots of side roads haven’t even been plowed yet.

I have been cooking lots and staying pretty much committed to Whole30 but I for sure ate more than I have been being stuck in the house so long. This morning I had fun with breakfast and made butternut squash cakes.

They were fantastic — click here for the recipe.

I’m signing off early again tonight to watch X-Files. The Husband and I couldn’t be more excited. We’ve been having college flashbacks all day just in anticipation.

You make me miss my kids being little and playing in the snow so much!! Thank you for always sharing everything and being so real. I’m going to have to try those Butternut Squash cakes. They look delish.

    Hi Roni,
I don’t have instagram but wanted to say that the photo you posted of your nutritious snack for your kids looks DELICIOUS! I want that plate, it looks perfect. I find it’s all about prep-work. I’m still trying to figure out how to prep healthy meals AND snacks to last the week.

We had close to 11 inches by the time it was all done here in Middle TN and that is a huge amount for us! Life as we know it ceased. Lol
