I’m not going to lie. I’m looking forward to being snowed in for a couple of days. I just hope the power stays on and the kids don’t drive me crazy.
Anyway, I thought I’d take a moment before bed to answer a couple questions from the old inbox.
I have been reading your blog since you started it and am constantly inspired by everything you have done and continue to do to become healthy and strong!
My question to you is, do you have a way to link to the food journals you kept when you first started out? I think that this would be really helpful to me and to others – I have found some food journals in your posts, but can’t seem to find a direct link to them. Seeing what you ate on a daily basis while losing your weight would help with ideas and strategies that hopefully I could use! I am following the old plan – even older than flex – I think it was called winning points and it worked for me after my son was born, back in 1999 and I am trying it once again! I want to lose about 25 pounds, and keep it off this time!

I love this questions because it’s easy! Yes, I do! I have a category for posts that contain food journals. I can’t say it’s 100% accurate as I’m sure I missed a few but if you page through you can go back quite a few years of posts in which I shared my food journals. I used to do it a lot more in the past.

I have been following you for a while now and you are so inspirational and thank you for all that you do! I am currently trying to work out and lose weight (and I am down 15 pounds so far!) and I still have about 50 more lbs to lose. I have to say that I love how you put yourself first and make working out a priority, I’m just wondering how supportive your husband is? I work 8 hours a day and I have 2 boys (4 year old and 2 year old). The only time I work out is at lunch time since it is really my only free time. I would love to work out Saturday and Sunday mornings or in the evenings but I just feel guilty leaving the boys with my husband all the time- how do you get over that and just do it? He is supportive of me working out but I also think he is used to me taking over with the boys! Thanks for your time! :)
I love your question for a completely different reason than Larissa’s. I love it because it’s me! I struggled so much with this same exact thing. I’m sorry to answer your question with a link but I wrote about this 3 years and I think it’s the best response I can give, even today – click here to read it.
I will say, I feel you in the guilt department for sure but keep in mind 2 things: 1.) When mom’s happy everyone’s happy (I only partially mean that as a joke) and 2.) You have to set the example for your kids. They see everything you do and when they see you taking care of yourself they will learn to take care of themselves. I truly believe that.
