What I Ate Wednesday for Breakfast is Weird

12 Comments 1850 views

Have I mentioned how I’m just not into breakfast foods anymore? I don’t know why. I used to come home from the gym and make eggs all the time or I’d whip up some oatmeal. Now none of that appeals to me and I can’t figure out why.

I mean, I guess my diet is always evolving but this shift seems odd becuase I’m not driving it. Usually my diet changes happen slowly, over time, because I want them to change, this one just sort of happened.

Anyway, that’s just my warning before I share my strange breakfast with you.

5:15 a.m.

The last Banana Oat Cup on the way to the gym, I mean… work!  — still cracks me up to say that.

7:45 a.m.

This plate of leftover whole wheat pasta with bison meatballs.

Bison was on sale over the weekend at my local grocery store so I picked up a few pounds. No one even noticed the difference in my meatballs.

My homemade sauce, pasta and those meatballs may have been the best breakfast ever. I wasn’t hungry for hours!

1 p.m.

Out for sushi — sashimi lunch special

The Husband convinced me to go out since he wouldn’t be around the next couple of days for lunch. We’ve been doing really good on the eating out thing lately for dinners but lunch still gets us about twice a week.

6:30 p.m.

Dinner was tuna steaks, fried rice mixed with quinoa (the family doesn’t even notice) and roasted broccoli with coconut oil.

The 10-year-old didn’t help as much as I wanted him to. We had some homework issues. grrrr.

8:45 p.m.

Stomach a little growly. I decided on some vanilla Greek yogurt topped with cocoa nibs, sunflower seeds and Hemp Hearts. It’s my current yogurt obsession.

That’s it from me. I’m off to watch Modern Family.

I’m really not that much into breakfast food at breakfast time, but I love it for dinner. Incidentally, I had a small square of cold leftover baked spaghetti with one meatball the other morning for breakfast. It was so good. :D

    The tuna steak look awesome!

My favorite breakfast growing up was a turkey sandwich! Don’t feel strange about this; a lot of other cultures eat more savory foods in the morning. Spaghetti with red sauce is on just about every breakfast buffet in Australia.

I’ve done some pretty odd things for breakfast and lunch, especially with the CSA veggies. Some of my lunch stir fries are totally weird, but most turn out to be delicious. Enjoy!

funny, i was just saying that the eggs n bacon routine is getting old. I may make a breakfast lasagna or casserole and have it for breakfasts. So glad to hear you are working at your box…good luck.

Bison is good meat. Its low in fat and its free range. Coconut oil too is very good. Has lots of health benefits. It helps to burn fat. The MCT found in coconut is a good fat burner. Do you know that 15-30 MCT per day can help you lose 120 calories everyday? Amazing

Oooo…I love meal photos. The meals look so yummy… I want all of it!!! And I’ve always thought “breakfast food” is whatever you want it to be. I’d be curious what other countries consider “breakfast” food.

I would prefer to get a breakfast that’s high in Resistant Starch. Resistant Starch signals the body to use fat for energy, and it can be found in foods like oats and bananas.
