I don’t even know where to start. The past four days have been a blur.
Friday was my last day in Ohio. Cowboy (and my mom) had to take their service dog test and they passed with flying colors!
Everyone was ecstatic.
Judy kept saying, “Cowboy’s my service dog. He’s my service dog.” It was so cute. And when they are tethered it’s adorable.
After the test I headed on the road for my 8-hour drive home alone. Ugh. Just thinking about it sucks and it’s already behind me!
I made it home around 9:30 p.m. and the kids were waiting up. I couldn’t wait to see them!
The next morning I made them waffle (recipe and story here)…
and took them to the gym with me. We had breakfast with some friends and then hit the grocery store to stock up. I wanted to let The Husband sleep in. He was flying solo for almost two weeks with the kids.
The rest of the day we just hung out, cleaned up and relaxed. I think I may have even snuck a nap in before the Notre Dame game.
Sunday was clean-up day. The kids helped a little before they realized the pulled out couches make great forts for Nerf gun fights.
The faces I got when I told them it was time to put them back.
But we were in a hurry! We had a lunch date at an Indian buffet and movie date to see Shaun the Sheep. I got to spend the day with the kids and catch up with friends. It was fabulous!
Afterwards with met up with The Husband and some friends for a family game of kickball.
Of course the 4-year-old would rather climb the fence or play on the playground.
But we still had a blast!
After about two hours a small group of us grabbed some dinner and enjoyed a snowball. It may be September but it feel like August out there. It’s been super hot in these parts lately!
Yesterday we were a bit more lazy. I did hit the gym to workout with my friends in the morning but then we pretty much lounged around all day until late afternoon when we decided play a round of mini-golf before dinner.
Then I put the kids to work cleaning their rooms and we all went to bed.
Was that 4 days? I think it was. As I said, a bit of a blur but awesome. I spent minimal time online and just hung out with the people I love. What’s the saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder? Well, when I got home all I wanted to do was hang out with my boys so that’s what I did.
Now with school underway and all my travel behind me, I’m ready to find my routine.
