It all started Friday with a lunch in Frederick at an AMAZING Thai restaurant. Jen and I took the short road trip to visit an old friend.
We got lost, almost ran out of gas, hit a crap-ton of traffic and chatted up a storm. It was a great afternoon even with all the mishaps.
I rushed home and spent the rest of the evening with my boys. We went out to dinner, ran a few errands and watched a movie. Well, The husband and I watched a movie. Speaking of, if you like quirky, indie films and vampires you may want to check out What We Do in the Shadows. Hysterical!
Saturday was go-go-go. I hit the gym first thing before heading on the road to NJ for my niece’s birthday party.
(This is The Husband’s parents with all their grandchildren — I love pics like this!)
She turned 5 and it blows my mind considering Evan is only 9 months behind her. They are all getting so big!
After an afternoon with family, we got home just in time for me to meet another old friend for dinner. We tried a new-to-us Indian restaurant and it was outstanding!
I don’t even know what I ordered but it was GOOD!
This morning the kids and I were up bright and early to meet some friends for a hike.
By 8 am we were swimming in a watering hole. Well, swimming may be a stretch. It was FREEZING! But all three of us braved it.
We ended up hiking about 2 and a half miles and no one needed to be carried! That’s a first!
The rest of the day was a blur. We came home and ate breakfast — a big batch of scrambled eggs and some leftover steak — and then we cleaned and organized, taking the first step to get ready for the school year.
I have a system where I save all papers throughout the school year. Then before the following year we go through and pull out stuff for each kid’s memory box. Ryan already reminisces looking through old tests and art work every time we do it.
Lunch was a mish-mash of leftovers, mostly from restaurants. We’ve been eating out so much… TOO much. I’m trying to wrangle us in but all our travels and a busy summer schedule isn’t helping.
After lunch we headed out to the mall. Ryan needed new shoes desperately. His foot is now as big as mine!
I took advantage of the buy 1 get 1 50% deal and picked up those cute walking shoes for me too!
We also hit the grocery store on the way home and I remembered our bags — YAY!
We are now stocked and ready to NOT EAT OUT all week. :)
For dinner I grilled some burgers and made my favorite salad of all time.
That’s it. That’s all. I’ve GOT to go. I’m exhausted. It’s an early night for me for sure!
