So many people ask me how to start. What did I do in the beginning to flip the switch? To stay motivated. To keep going. How did (do) I do it?

This simple quote defines the first step of positive change. This is ground zero for confidence, for growth, for goal achievement.

This concept is what I tried so hard to capture in this post and sums up this post almost perfectly.

It is the starting line.

Food Journal

  • 7:15 a.m. Post-workout Recover Shake (1 scoop)
  • 10 a.m. Date and Peanut bar from Aldi — super good and TONS cheaper than Lara.
  • 12:15 p.m. Black Bean and Beet burger over greens with feta and a squirt of Italian dressing <– this is SO GOOD! I also had a few bites of The Husband’s leftover fried rice.
  • 4 p.m. Chocolate mint avocado pudding. It came out SO good! I posted it on GreenLiteBites’ Facebook wall
  • 6:45 p.m. Grilled chicken sandwich from McD’s on our run between the gym and Ryan’s after-school music session.
  • 10 p.m. Quinoa chips and salsa. My stomach was growling!

  • 6 a.m. row and foam rolling for warm up

  • 5:30 p.m. 1-mile run and practiced some lifts at the gym for this weekend’s competition.

    Roni-I love this!

    I have been struggling with my weight on and off for years. I thought by this point in my life I would have been able to master it but the struggle continues. I just returned from a trip to visit my family. My sisters’ homes are filled with pictures. I’m in many of them and instead of remembering the good times associated with them, my thoughts constantly turned to how much I hated the way I looked.

    This quote comes at an ideal time. The only way i can get to the shape I want to be (and I’ve been there three times for a few years each time as an adult) is to love myself and treat myself with love.

    I read your blog often. I comment every once in a while. Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration.
