What 21,000 Steps Looks Like in New Orleans

6 Comments 1969 views

pedOur first full day in New Orleans was AWESOME!! We are truly having a blast. The city has such an awesome vibe, the food is amazing, it’s warm and friendly and being here during the French Quarter Fest allows us to hear lots of great music.

I started the day with a run to a local CrossFit gym. It may seem crazy but it works out as The Husband likes to sleep in and I don’t. So I get up early, see a bit of the city alone, meet some locals and get a workout in.

It’s honestly one of my favorite things to do when traveling.

This was me after a fun, intense partner workout. I was paired up with a younger guy and I think I impressed him. We kept pace with the other guy-guy team and he seemed shocked. It was cracking me up.

I’m not going to lie. I like being the old lady at the gym holding my own with the young bucks. I made it back to the hotel and The Husband and I hit the town. DSC_0382

After strolling through the Quarter we settled in at The Swamp, a bar on Bourbon Street.

We met lots of people, drank and The Husband got to watch the Masters. We really couldn’t have had a better time.

Then we were all about dinner with friends who took us to Frenchman Street for more drinks and some awesome music.

I would love to tell you more but I’ve got to go. We have another full day ahead of us!

  • 10:30 a.m. FitAide on the walk back from the gym.
  • 1:30 p.m. 2 beignets!

  • 2:30 p.m. French Quarter Fest street food — alligator sausage kabobs and a few bites of The Husband’s crab cake.

  • 6 p.m. Dinner at Cochon with The Dubyas! I had a sausage appetizer, an awesome salad and rabbit and dumplings — something I’ve never heard of and figured I’d never get a chance to try again. It. Was. Amazing!!

  • Throughout the day: A few beers, and a crazy drink at The Swamp.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

UGH! You had me until you ate rabbit!! Having just lost our sweet bunny (Biscuit) I can’t image ever in a million years eating one of these sweet creatures.
