Almost Sold Myself Short Today

This morning at the gym our workout included rope climbs, something I’ve never been able to do.

I decided I’d give a shot not thinking I’d make it about half way.

Well…

Multiple times!

I couldn’t believe it! I left the gym on cloud nine.

I love making this kind of progress at the gym. Never in my life have I been so strong and capable. It’s an amazing feeling!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Wow. Congrats. I am a tennis freak and I can’t wait to get back going. I will get a like what you did when I can play a doubles match and really compete hard. I don’t have to win, but just be able to move well. I play, but I am over 300 pounds so I have to do it at half pace.

Nice work!!! That is awesome. What is so cool is that now that you are in such great shape you can try new things to test out your new strength and skills whenever they come up. Things like the trampoline and zip lines!

    Hi Roni,
Just discovered your website. I admire your great accomplishment to the lovely shape you are in. I am trying to lose some weight too and have just started to do light journaling to record quickly what my weight is and what does or doesn’t appear to work in the weight loss world. I found out some interesting and unfortunate things about food and supplements in the years of my experimenting with health food. One very valuable thing I must share is that flax seeds will slow down your thyroid. They have a natural toxin (thiocyanate) that blocks iodine absorption into the thyroid gland so you can’t make the hormone thyroxin. Taking extra iodine will not help this problem. If your thyroid slows down far enough you can go into a coma.
I had a very close call with the use of flax seeds about 12 years ago. I felt awful and my labs reflected thyroid issues. The only thing I was doing different was the addition of flax to my diet, so I plugged flax seed toxin in a google bar and it popped up with all the horrible things it did to animals and the Ag Department decades ago said not to give them to your farm animals. Well, they were right and the same toxin has the same effect on people. I gave up the flax and cut back on the cruciferous vegetables and my thyroid is fine. So if your moods and energy seem out of whack at times I strongly advise throwing away your flax seeds and cutting back on broccoli, cabbage, kale, etc. especially if you have thyroid issues. Last year I gave up chocolate and I can say I hardly have a depressed mood ever. I gave it up because of the proven high levels of cadmium, lead, and weird stimulants that bring a person up then down. Giving up chocolate was one of the hardest things I have done in my dietary experiments but well worth it. I don’t feel like a prisoner to it at all now. I can have it on the counter for weeks and never touch it. I can walk passed it in the grocery and not have the craving call. I just had to keep telling myself no till it stuck. I wish I could say I am at ideal weight now, I am not yet but I am working on it. I just need to stay more active and I would be there. I am a retired nurse so I am not on my feet all the time like before, but I still carried extra weight from the bad eating habits like nurses get into. But this is my year to get in shape now that bad eating habits are no longer a problem.
Good luck to you and the family.
    Happy Easter,
