S is for Scooby

I can’t stress enough how happy it makes me that my kids love Scooby Doo. Not the latest they-ruined-Velma-Scooby but the original series and the movies.

I swear, I think we own the whole Scooby catalog on DVD.

S is for Soup

Since I was up so early with the kids I decided to have a little fun and make some soup. I used roasted sweet potatoes, coconut milk, chicken broth, quinoa and spices.

It came out DELICIOUS! I will post the details on GreenLiteBites asap!

UPDATE: Just posted! Click here to see how I made my Roasted Sweet Potato and Quinoa Soup.

S is for Supporting the Local Weightlifting Community

After breakfast I took the to boys to the Baltimore Open. I wanted them to see the under-17 division. These kids are amazing!

Ryan was mesmerized.

At one point he even started taking pictures.

Evan was a little too young….

but I wanted both kids to see other kids competing. I think it’s important for them to know they, too, can work at something they love and it can be rewarding in a challenging way.

S is for Skee Ball

After the open we went to Chuck E. Cheese’s for lunch and played our favorite game.

We also got pizza for lunch and even though I was super tempted to keep eating it, I said #wycwyc and got a go-to container.

S is for Suds

On our way home we stopped to wash the car. It was actually kind of nice out so we vacuumed and then pulled into the automated wash. I let the kids sit in the back of the wagon and they thought it was just the coolest thing.

S is for Shopping

We made it home in time for naps. The Husband and I worked on the weekly meal planning…

and we went grocery shopping as a family. It was nice.

S is for Squirrel Nut Zippers

After dinner we danced and goofed off to one of our favorite songs, The Ghost of Stephan Foster by the Squirrel Nut Zippers.

The run around the ottoman is a long standing family tradition. We’ve been doing it since Ryan was crawling and I even have a video of him and I doing this when he was Evan’s age.

It was an amazing Saturday! Tomorrow I have plans to have lunch with a friend, stop by the open again to see the female division and then hang out with The Boys while The Husband plays tennis.

It’s shaping up to be an awesome weekend and here I thought we had nothing to do.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

My kids love Scooby too (and HeMan and SheRa!) and they don’t seem to care whether it’s old retro Scooby or the new revamped ones. I definitely prefer the old ones, especially the theme songs! But I noticed a change in Daphne in the new ones… or at least this one “camping” episode/movie we watched. She was all boobs and butt, really sexed up, and i actually felt kind of embarassed to be watching it with my sons. I’ll take the old gang any day. :)

I know! She’s all into Shaggy too. It’s weird.

Love seeing you enjoying your kids company & join in without a second thought. I can not wait to see that recipe. It looks scrumptious.

That is such a cute pic of you in the car! And this is funny but the other day when you posted a pic of you and hubby walking to your date I thought you looked like Velma from Scooby Doo but didn’t comment on it. Anyway, I like Velma either way but the link you posted to that FB group is a little scary to me….
