One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

So… What WILL you do this Weekend?

At the end of this crazy life journey we’re on no one is going to care what we looked like. All we’ll have is what we did and who we touched and that’s so so so much more meaningful than how we looked.

Today I had someone quote that back to me in an email and I was like… Wait… Did I said that? Really?

I respond to so many people in the moment I sometimes don’t even realize what I’m saying. That sounds bad, I know, but I hope you know what I mean.

Anyway, I’m using my own quote as inspiration for this post and a question of the week.

I really do believe the key to healthy weight loss and maintenance is to engage in activities you love. It’s like the first step to of breaking out of the mental rut yo-yo dieting can put you in.

So I’m truly asking what WILL you do this weekend? What fun activities can you engage in? Who can you reach out to?

Me? The next 2 days are jam PACKED with AWESOMENESS!

First, tonight, games with the kids by the fire place. It’s just too cold to do anything else. This is, of course, AFTER Taco night, only one of my favorite dinners at home. :)

Tomorrow morning, a date at the gym with friends. I’m hoping to stay a little later and work with the mobility coach because The Husband FINALLY doesn’t have a tennis match.

Tomorrow night we’re going out to dinner as a family for Valentine’s Day and meeting friends at a local Japanese Steak House.

Sunday I’m trying to plan an early run date with a friend. Afterwards Ryan has a FitClub meeting I volunteer at and after that I’m going to see 50 Shades of Grey (I know, I know, cheesy) with a large group of women. It should be interesting that’s for sure!

Somehow I’ll sprinkle in some cleaning and meal planning, I guess. I am finally learning how to not work on weekends and for the most part I leave my inbox alone until Monday Morning.

Ok, your turn… plans?  Don’t have any? Make some! Do something fun this weekend!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

My last weekend was a bit of a whirlwind and I struggle without time to relax, so currently I don’t have anything planned for this weekend. I’ve recently bought a Fitbit and have been trying to increase my daily steps, but weekends so far have been very low because I’m not doing my routine walks into/out of work and during lunchtime. I was hoping to go for a bike ride as the weather was supposed to be nicer, but even thought it is cooler than it has been lately it still feels quite warm and the sun is still biting. Perhaps this evening. Oh, and my partner is cooking me dinner for Valentine’s Day :) Not really a special dish in itself but as I cook 95%+ of our meals it’s a nice treat.

I think no plans are sometimes the best plans! Hope you got your bike ride in and… I that’s awesome about dinner. The Husband will cook for me once a year and it’s always an event. lol

We are having a family Valentine’s tonight with Game Night and homemade pizzas. Thinking it is going to be amazing. Tomorrow will be church, lunch, and then I do have to get some work done. And hoping to get back to my workout, too! What does everyone else do when you are sick? Taking a whole week off makes me feel like I’m starting all over again.

Not going to lie. The house falls apart. lol I hate finding my groove after a sick week too. Hang in there!

The long weekend is being spent at our lake house. got here last night and had dinner with a friend. We had to make an emergency vet visit to get pain meds for our elderly bunny who is not doing well :(
Then off to the gym for a good workout then in to Great Barrington for lunch and grocery shopping since V’day dinner will be in tonight.
Church tomorrow and hope it is nice enough for an outside walk and home sometime on Monday with a workout and figuring out what to eat on Meatless Monday.
    Life is good!

No plans. Saturday we hit Aldi & I found vegan veggie burgers. Only 90 calories & half the price of any other brand. We went to Target & found some good deals too. Today is easy Sunday.

I wish I had something more productive to answer to this one, but we’ve been hit with a major snowstorm this weekend, and the temps have been ‘real feel’ of about -14 with really strong winds. Every previously thought sealed place in the house seems to be felt right now, and it’s just unpleasant… it’s hard to stay motivated to exercise or do much of anything else when I feel trapped in my own home by the weather… suggestions?

      February 16, 2015

Ugh.. I feel you. I can’t even imagine what’s it’s like to be up further in the NE right now. SO much snow! If I was snowed in and hibernating I think I’d focus in on some organization projects like cleaning out my closet or drawers. That always motivates me. It’s not the same as a workout but sometimes giving you body a rest and focusing on things like that it’s a boost to your morale.

Hi Roni, We went to NYC for the weekend with our three girls!! Had a blast but wow was it cold! Anyway i have a question for you. We live in Pittsburgh and we just got our first Aldi near us. What are your favorite products from Aldi? I did find a good deal on Organic apples, but i was wondering what you like to buy when you shop there. Thanks!!
