The day after getting cut open, having bone removed and replaced by a prosthetic joint, Mom’s doing laps around the hospital. Modern medicine is incredible!

We’re hoping she gets discharged tomorrow, which would be great! It’s always better to sleep in your own bed. Once she’s settled in here I’ll be heading back home. I really miss the boys. We Skyped yesterday. Evan was so stinking cute and Ryan, well, he’s too cool for school. We text now and it blows my mind.

On the drive back from the hospital I pondered what to do for my #FlatOutLove moment of the day. Then it hit me. Music!

I LOVE music! There’s rarely a moment I’m not listening during the day. The kids are used to my blasting of the iPod while cooking dinner. We dance, sing and act life goofballs. Evan has this really cute finger jam he does and Ryan, well, remember this?

It makes me smile every time he sings or gets excited when one of “my” songs come on.

Tonight I spent some time pulling together a playlist for the #FlatOUtLove Challenge. Now, I like all music but I have a soft spot for angry alternative rock. I don’t know why, I just do. Here’s what I came up with.

I made a rule I could only pick one song from each artist/band so I’d get more variety. That also made it more fun for some reason.

This will be blasting in the car on my 3-hour drive back home. And I’ll be all alone so I can totally rock out.

OK, I’ve got to go! Leave your #FlatOutLove updates in the comments! Each one makes me smile! I hope you’re having fun with it!

early this morning for my #flatoutlove minutes, I found a few saved shoe boxes and sat them out to decorate and then fill with my card making supplies such as inks, letter stamps, ect.

I have been injured since August 16 so I have not been able to run and my workouts have been seriously scaled back. I finally had hip surgery on Dec 22 and am now on the long road to recovery! While my 15 year old daughter, who is a softball pitcher for her school and a travel showcase team, was doing some of her conditioning exercises in the living room, and I was laying on the couch watching, she asked my husband to do the exercises with her. I was hurt! She NEVER asks me to work out with her and she REFUSES to work out with me when I ask her! So…I asked her why she never asks me to workout with her…and she said “Because you’re a bada$$, Mom and I can’t keep up with you. Dad is easy!” Setting a good example and having my 15 year old daughter think I am a bada$$….definite #flatoutlove moment! Oh…and I took the compliment…without trying to discount myself…which is a huge deal for me! Another #flatoutlove moment! :)

Great news! Music is exactly where I’m at. Last night I added songs I love to sing to a playlist and it was really fun. I plan to do more tonight. Good luck to your mama!!
