I just got done cleaning out a dresser drawer — just one. It was just what I needed to bump up my motivation and it took all but 5 minutes. I purged anything that no longer served me whether it was too small, too big, or not worn for over a year. I even cleared out my running event shirts — well, the ones I never wear anyway. Why do I need to hold onto stuff I don’t wear?
What’s the point?
It just doesn’t make any sense.
My plan is to do the same in the kitchen, too. My pantry and cabinets are a a disaster and I’ve come to the conclusion that the only way I’m going to ever tackle them is if I do it one drawer/cabinet at a time.
So that’s the plan: one drawer/cabinet a day until it’s done.
You guys may need to keep me honest about this one. It may take more motivation than staying on a diet! Speaking of, I’ve been reading so much about this FODMAP stuff. It’s fascinating. I’m on day 2 of no dairy and I’ve been really conscious of grains.
Today I did a little food prep. I made the BEST chicken cutlets lightly breaded in almond flour mixed with smoked paprika, sweet paprika, thyme, cardamom and salt then pan fried in coconut oil.
Totally yum. I ate one for lunch and then another at dinner atop some spaghetti squash with a little sauce.
I also experimented with some large collard green leaves and wrapped some leftover pulled pork in them, smothered them in some tomato sauce and roasted them. I didn’t take a picture as things like that tend to taste better than they look — you know what I mean?
On the workout front I killed it this morning! My gym is starting a new challenge every few weeks and this time around it’s a 1000k row for time. I took a stab at it this morning and beat my own time by like 15 seconds!
I’ve never been able to do it under 4 minutes and today it was, well, I wouldn’t say effortless but very doable! Right now I have the fastest female time at the gym but I doubt it will hold.
Anyway, that was my Saturday. I’m writing this while watching the OITNB finale and it’s taking me forever because I keep getting sucked in. I should go. lol
