That’s pretty much all I did this weekend.
Friday night was the Husband’s annual holiday party and we had a BLAST!
We drank and danced and drank and danced.
Oh! and they had one of those fun photo booths!
Saturday morning we headed home and after getting The 3-Year-Old to nap I joined him. I slept all afternoon and it was glorious!
We ended up ordering a pizza for dinner and having a picnic in the living room while watching Christmas movies.
This morning I woke up with the kids, made pancakes and then headed to a friend’s annual Christmas party.
One kid hates Santa.
The other talks his ear off.
They are opposites in so many ways yet share a love of trampolines.
After the party we went out to lunch at a local place I’ve been wanting to try for some time. We were the only ones there so I snapped a few photos.
They may look cute but we were having a bit of a rough morning. The 3-Year-Old is definitely in that defiant-I’m-going-to-see-how-far-I-can-push-mommy-before-she-snaps stage and, well, I snapped. A few times.
We were supposed to go to another party in the afternoon but I just didn’t have it in me.
Instead, The 3-Year-Old went to bed, The 9-Year-Old mined for gems…
…and I set myself up for an afternoon of baking experiments.
I made 3 different cookie ideas. The first was a date-based, Larabar style…
The second was an almond sugar cookie and the third was a flourless chocolate chip cookie. My best so far!
Then I went right into dinner. Spatchcock chicken, baked potatoes and peas.
Right now I have the bones on the stove to make chicken soup tomorrow.
Great weekend overall but I’m exhausted! And I ate too many cookies. And I miss my food journal.
Now I’m off to watch another episode of Orange is the New Black. It’s our new Sunday show since Walking Dead is over and there’s nothing else we are currently watching.
Hope you had a good weekend!
