Las Vegas Marathon: Mission Accomplished!!

12 Comments 2273 views

I promise a complete and full recap of the marathon ASAP, but right now I’m in fly-by mode as I soak up my last day in Vegas with The Husband. So here are just a few shots and thoughts.

First, me in the room getting ready. I decided to put my number on the my leg so I could take my long sleeves off if I got too hot.

Good decision, as the shirt came off around mile 2. :)

Me at the start with my friend Jimmy who agreed to sacrifice his marathon time and stay with me the whole time. I look terrified, and it was totally NOT planned. lmao.

While waiting I took this panoramic of the start line. (if you click it should open!)

I only took 2 shots during the race as I didn’t want to slow myself down. This one before entering Fremont St — my FAVORITE part of the run!

And this one of my time at mile marker 14 as I was in uncharted milage based on my training.

Jimmy and I at the finish!!

Me relaxing in my room afterwards.

Final results!

Roni's Marathon Results

I didn’t reach my goal of 5 hours (honestly shocked as I didn’t walk at all!) but that’s OK, I did it and I felt great almost the entire time! I didn’t hit a wall until mile 22 then it took everything I had just to keep a trot.  More on this later, but I moved my corral up as I knew the time limit would be an issue. If I didn’t do that I probably wouldn’t have made the time limits.

Anyway, more later I promise. The Husband is waiting for me. Sorry!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I love your blog and have found it so inspirational from cooking to exercising to Sensational Sundays as I work toward my own weight loss and fitness goals as well as creating a more organized life. A girl after my own heart, I would’ve gone for the “full” too!!! You did awesome & I hope you had a good time. You were lucky to have a friend with you the whole time, I know those miles once you leave the strip are LONG!!!
I have my full trail marathon coming up this Saturday & I’m NERVOUS!!! Though my husband says I’m always nervous & stressed before a full. It always seems like every little ache & pain decides to show up before your race!!! I’m hoping all goes well!!!
    Again, CONGRATS!!

Congratulations! While I was one of those who thought that dialing it down to the half was a good idea, I am NOT judging the choice you made. You know your own body better than anyone else. Good job!!!

I told you to cut to half. But I am glad you listened to your own body. Congrats on finishing:)
