Excited to Turn the Page

Today has been an absolute blur. Both kids were home from school, I had the last round of edits to finish for the book, a boat load of errands to run and I had to make it to the polls to vote.

I started my whirlwind bright and early at the gym as I always do. This week is a test out week — meaning we try to lift the most amount of weight for one repetition (aka Personal Records — PRs.)

So far I’m 2 for 2! I increased my shoulder press weight by 2 pounds and my back squat by 10, which is HUGE for me — click here to see my current PRs) I’ve been struggling with back squats for sometime, making no progress for almost a year. We are testing 2 more lifts  on Thursday and Friday and I have high hopes. I’ve been feeling really, really strong lately.

Interestingly enough I’ve been running less the last few weeks, too. I’m not a trainer and don’t pretend to be one, but I can’t help but think there’s definitely a correlation there.

Now that my neck and back are feeling better I’ve also started working on my pull-ups again.  I posted this update in March…

And I really haven’t made any more progress. If anything I may be a little weaker.

I have a door frame bar set up and for a while I would do a hold when I passed it. However, I’ve gotten callous to it. I don’t even notice it anymore. So I made myself a little sign.

I’ve done 3 pull-ups and 3 holds today already!

Back from the gym I made the kids and I some eggs before dragging them around town. We hit the polls…

…the bank, FedEx, Aldi, Staples, and my physical therapy appointment. Then we met The Husband for lunch where I was reminded of #wycwyc by my fortune cookie…

As soon as I got home Little Bean went to nap, the groceries went away (mostly) and I called Carla for our last round of #wycwyc edits. This whole book thing is draaaaaggggging. I’m so not used to being at the mercy of others on these types of things. It’s been a learning experience for sure! We spent about 3 hours tweaking the copy edit and responding to comments from the publisher.

I got off the phone, walked into the kitchen and….

ugh!

It was clean-up and dinner making time. The Husband has tennis on Tuesdays, too, so I basically flew solo all day. He left, I straightened up, gave Little Bean an early bath so I wouldn’t have to do it later, and made dinner — burgers and a side of fresh veggies for the kids and I’m totally obsessed with this salad!

After dinner a bit more work, I got an update from the designer I hired to help with my site redesigns. They are almost done! Plus we are negotiating with our first interested FitBloggin‘ sponsor!

I have a feeling the next few months — heck, through June of next year — is going to be super, duper crazy. In a way I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. Carla posted this on Facebook the other day and it exactly captures how I approach life anymore…

I’m excited to turn the page. I think that’s another reason why I like busy.

So, I’m off to stretch a bit and watch an episode of Fargo before bed. The Husband and I are catching up with Netflix and loving it! If you are fan of the movie I highly recommend it.

Hope you had a great Tuesday. Did everyone rock the vote?

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I voted, but my state went against me at every turn.

I really need to work my upper body more. I have terribly weak shoulders. Why does it always seem easier to work on lower body?

I’m the opposite! I find upper body so much easier!

This article is basically about the whole “all or nothing” mentality. It’s actually a real, scientific thing, and we have to retrain our brains to not think like that. You are TOTALLY on to something with WYCWYC!!!
