A Sensational Sunday With a Supreme Giveaway!

I have a confession:

Every Sunday I love taking photos throughout the day and then every Sunday night I’m like… Gah! Now I have to post them! And frankly, all I want to do is veg on the couch. Since my laptop died I’ve done ZERO work in front of the TV. But then I look at the photos and I realize how awesome it will be to look back at random days of my life.

What am I saying? I already love to do that!

Anyway, there are, like, a billion things floating through my head I want to get out. Thankfully I can let the pictures do most of the talking.

This is how my day started.

A 3-year-old and Peppa Pig. I mean, it doesn’t get much better than that!

Once I got downstairs I checked on my overnight oats experiment.

These two came down all smiles and giggles.

The boys split a bacon omelet but someone needed a little incentive to finish.

I am NOT against the bargain. The egg was finished. The cookie was enjoyed. Win-win. The way I see it, he’s getting used to lots of flavors and textures, which will lead to a diverse eater later — at least that’s my hypothesis. So far it seemed to work with his older brother.

I ate my overnight oats but my stomach was still rumbling so I made a quick snack before my run attempt.

I got ready for my run and realized I had the perfect shirt to match my new sneaks!

That was The Husband’s one attempt at a shot. He’s just not into the picture taking. lol

I decided to splurge on a new pair of sneaks considering all the foot problems I’ve been having.

I went with Brooks Women’s Ravenna 5‘s and I love them!

Unfortunately, I didn’t love my run. I’m not sure if it’s my foot or my neck or my head but I just couldn’t find my groove. My plan was to attempt 5 miles so I could report back to the podiatrist and physical therapist. Well, my foot didn’t hurt the same way but I still have pain down the side of my left ankle.  I walked most of it.

I came home very disappointed. My training was going so well up until 2 darn weeks ago! I was loving the long runs and really felt like I was making progress.

I just keep reminding myself that it’s not the end of the world. I’m doing what I can when I can. I’d rather walk and avoid injury than not attempt it at all.

Next weekend is the Baltimore Half. I’m still not sure what I’m going to do yet. I have to see how the week pans out.

I came home to these two monkeys running around.

Simple Chicken and Oat Stew With Northern Beans. I used my frozen homemade broth, which is why it looks funky.

With dinner on, a family game of hide and seek!

We are upgrading to the new quantum boxes and our fear of it being a big ordeal was realized.

I checked in on dinner and discovered I put in WAY too much broth.

I forgot I froze 2 cups per bag and ended up using 8 cups instead of 4 for my recipe.

Everyone got a good laugh and then I said, “Well, it looks like soup tonight!”  I added a bit more oats and another chicken breast just to help it spread a bit.

During the box upgrades we moved the entertainment center and found this…

I totally forgot someone sent it to me last year. I never even opened it! To be honest, I was on some list for workout DVDs and I just don’t do them. They aren’t my thing so I have a box full of them all unopened. I should start a giveaway a week or something.

Ahh, the joys of parenthood: dealing with whiny kids who never want to do anything.

After chores we played a family game of Candy Land.

Dinner came out pretty good considering my misstep.

Everyone actually ate it!

After dinner I made lunch for the 3-Year-Old: Sunflower Seed Butter on Whole Wheat, Pomegranates, Carrots and a fruit leather.

I  haven’t updated my School Lunch Section in a while mostly because Little Bean’s new school doesn’t send home his leftovers.

During dinner I roasted a butternut squash plus the bulb of another so I could use it during the week.

I saved the other half of the second squash so I can make butternut squash fries. :)

The squash came out and the seeds went in!

I just rubbed a little coconut oil on them, sprinkled with salt and roasted at 225 until dried and crunchy. These are a favorite of the 9-Year-Old. He can’t wait until we do our pumpkins!

Before bed we cleaned up and played a little game of vacuum chase. I set the timer on the camera and shot a few random pictures. This was the best one.

That’s it! My complete Sensational Sunday. I’m about to pop some popcorn and watch the season premiere of Walking Dead. I can’t wait!

    I would love the DVD workout, I work out to DVD’s and by using the Wii workout games a lot since my Plantar Fasciitis started acting up. I’m afraid to go too far from the house and not be able to make it back. Love your blog, keep up the good work, you’re such an inspiration.

    I don’t need the Dvd but I did want to say I completed the Supreme 90 day workout. these are FANTASTIC workouts and not as long as some of the other systems!! So whoever gets it will hopefully love it as much as I did. I still pop some of the workouts in sometimes.
