I don’t usually get worked up about celebrity deaths but Robin Williams is hitting me hard tonight.

He played some of my favorite characters of all time.

Even the creepy, unfunny ones.

I feel like I grew up with him.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

saddened by his loss. I worked at ABC when he starred in Mork and Mindy and loved the show and loved that he drove Broadcast Standards (aka the censors) crazy with all his ad libs. The world is a sadder place without him :(

I hope Robin Williams is at peace and I am so sad at his passing! What saddens me the most is that, as talented as he was and as beloved by so many people, in his mind he had nothing left to live for. As a fellow sufferer with severe depression, I wish there were better treatment options and greater public awareness of what it feels like inside your head with this horrible disease. If you have a broken arm or the flu, your friends and family can see it and they know how to help, but depression is silent and solitary, and not everyone is aware of how to spot the symptoms or, more importantly, what to do that is helpful.

This has hit me really hard too – I was in tears several times last night… And I have never cried about a celebrity’s death before. I hope he has found peace at last, though I desperately wish he had been able to get help instead.

Me too! I can’t stop thinking about him. My name is Mindy and when people can’t understand me I always say “like Mork and Mindy”. I feel so sad for his family and for him to have been in such a dark place. Thanks for the post.

It’s funny how it’s true. In a long-distance kind of way: we ain’t never had a friend like him.
