One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

A 10-Mile Sensational Sunday!

10 Comments 2112 views

Today I woke up, got dressed and headed out to meet my friend Jimmy for a 10-mile trail run. I didn’t want to give myself any excuse not to go.

I wasn’t too worried about it, I did run 9 last weekend but I knew if I let the day get away from me it would be hanging over my head and I’d start to dread it.

We killed that trail!

It was beautiful!

And I loved having company on a longer run.

When I got home I convinced The Husband to take the kids go-karting.

We had a BLAST!

Afterwards some snowballs to celebrate our last Sensational Sunday of summer before school starts.

Once we got home it was naps and playtime while I got a little work done.

First I HAD to pull together this video clip from one of The 3-Year-Old’s meltdowns yesterday.

If I didn’t record him I think I would have lost it.

You got to love 3.

I also, finally, got last week’s 15-Minute Whole Wheat Pasta With Peas and Ham posted on GreenLiteBites.

The rest of the day was cleaning and organizing. Yesterday The 9-Year-Old and I came up with a new chore board.

He’s now cooking one day a week, emptying the dishwasher, doing his laundry and invoicing us for additional paid chores on Saturdays. Oh! And he agreed to run 2 days a week with me after school to get ready for his elementary cross county meets!

I love the fresh start the new school year gives us.

Speaking of fresh starts I have begun keeping a new paper journal today to track my food and training.

I was already keeping a journal with my workouts so I could tracks weights and stuff but I wanted to get a bit more detailed. I’m hoping it helps me shed some light on my bottomless-pit periods and my decreases in certain lifts.

OK, it’s about 9:3o and I’m winding this day down. My goal is to be in bed my 10 p.m. all this week. It’s making a HUGE difference. (I’m tracking sleep in my journal too. :)

Hope you had a great weekend! Anything you want to share or celebrate?

Aww, I remember 3. My daughter made it through 2 no problem so I thought we were home free! Wrong! Good for you for sticking to your guns so patiently! He was so sweet at the end. :-)

Yea. I don’t know who came up with terrible 2s ’cause 3 is definitely where the problems are.

You just have to laugh at them. That’s why I pulled out the camera. It was that or I would have lost it.

I know you can’t always reason with children, but in never ceases to amaze me when they are that persistent in pitching a fit over something that is easily within their control. Lol! I feel for you. <3

I KNOW right? I went through the same thing with his brother ones because he wouldn’t say “I’m sorry.” It was like a 25 minute ordeal. Ugh.

Good for you for not giving in. This will probably come back to “help” you at some other time. We watched a 5 y.o. have a meltdown over not putting on his swimsuit (which he had on earlier!) before he could go to the beach. We kept saying, just put on your suit.
