Hellllllo from the Jersey Shore!
I kicked off vacation with a 6-mile run for my marathon training.
It was rough, even though it was flat, but boy did I feel great afterwards.
We spent the day on the beach despite not so great weather in the morning, but I convinced the family to stick it out and it turned into a beautiful day after all!
Walking to the beach is always an adventure in and of itself and I was proud of this little guy for trucking with his chair on his back… even though he walks as slow as a snail.
I sat and watched the boys play an awesome game of paddle ball.
I don’t want to wish the kids older, but MAN is it fun when you can actually start to play WITH them instead of managing them. Know what I mean?
Although, seeing 2 young cousins so close in age is priceless.
The sun really started to come out but the 9-Year-Old didn’t wait. He was in the water all day! You can see him on his boogie board as we look on.
Of course no beach trip is complete without some hole digging.
That’s my job and in a weird way I really enjoy it. There’s just something relaxing about digging in the sand.
I shared this photo on social media with the caption:
Soaking in the sun and time with the kids despite inner mean girl who’s telling me to cover up.
Not going to lie, feeling a little bulky this year but don’t care (or at least I’m trying not to care). I feel fit as a fiddle and I’m having fun with the family. I mean, what else can I ask for?
