A Productive, Lazy, Sensational Sunday

I’ve been in pajamas since, ohhhh I don’t know, 2-ish? I’m in the post-vacation blah mode but I #wycwyc’d my way to a productive Sensational Sunday!

First, I didn’t even give myself an option this morning. I woke up and hit a local trail for my 8-mile training run.

It was a great run but I got my toe stuck in a root and took a spill.

I think I may have broken it.

Grrrr.

It’s feeling a little better. My trip to the gym tomorrow morning should be interesting.

On a positive note I met a really nice box turtle on the trail.

He was so cute! I also saw a few frogs, some really cool dragonflies and ran into more spider webs than I would have liked but it was still a good time.

On the way home I had some Mamma Chia, which I LOVE!

They gave samples at FitBloggin‘ this year and I still have a few left.

After my run I took the kids to a friend’s birthday party at a local pool.

Here are my boys with the birthday boy.

You’d think they were sick of the water after a week at the beach but nope. They had a blast!

I skipped the cake but they both seemed to like it.

Once we got home it was laundry, laundry, laundry. I also cooked up a storm making some sweet potato hash, spicy cole slaw and a fun kale salad with blueberries. All my photos are locked on my other camera. I’ll share them on GreenLiteBites throughout the week.

Before dinner it was haircut time.

Someone is going with Grandma and Grandpa to Mexico tomorrow! He’s only having one of the best summers EVER!

And he’s pretty smitten about it.

lol

So even though it’s been mostly a pajama day I still got my run in, most of the laundry done and lots of food prep for the week.

I’m headed to bed. I have to wake up at 3:30 to get these people to the airport tomorrow morning. Then it’s gym and writing for me. We’re almost done with the book!!

‘night! Hope you had a great weekend!

Be careful running out there, it looks so isolated! There are so many freaks around. I read too many stories online :( Take you a can of pepper spay :)

I always feel like the people who give these warnings have never actually been in the woods. ;) Freaks don’t lace up their running shoes and trek into the woods or up mountains in search of victims, except maybe in a horror movie.
Run on, Roni! What a beautiful trail!

Strange that you would criticize advice to be careful?

Let’s not make this a “thing.” lol I am careful and I appreciate Rene’s concern but I also agree with Bella, I feel safe out there. That doesn’t mean I’m not careful but I know the areas I’m going to pretty well.

The creeps are in town on the streets. I have never ever run into anyone on a trail that wasn’t hiking/running/helpful! And I have been running trails for over 40 yrs. by myself most of the time…

I’ve been contemplating those fruit pouches for weeks now… the ones aimed at babies, the plain applesauce, the fun fruit/veggie combos… I saw these Mama Chia ones at Target yesterday so maybe I will give them a shot! They seem so convenient!
