One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

20 Things I Ate Today

9 Comments 2253 views

After my week of boardwalk indulgences, I’ve decided not to focus on calories or quantity as much as quality of my food choices. I’m not keeping a traditional food journal and I didn’t take any photos, but this is pretty much a complete list of everything I consumed today.

  1. water
  2. sweet potato
  3. fresh thyme
  4. coconut milk (a new obsession)
  5. 2 eggs
  6. kale
  7. bacon
  8. spicy slaw — click here for the recipe!
  9. avocado
  10. maple syrup
  11. cocoa powder
  12. cashews
  13. dried apricots
  14. blueberries
  15. banana
  16. zucchini
  17. tomatoes
  18. carrots
  19. sugar snap peas
  20. yogurt cheese

Not bad, right?

Visiting a farm stand on the way home from the beach and having Mom bring up some of her garden harvest has really helped.

It seems when I have healthy food on hand I eat healthy foods. Go figure!

In other news, Carla and I got the best #wycwyc email today — click here for some really fun workplace inspiration! Nothing makes me happier than inspiring people!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

What an inspiring post! I love the Move It Fridays…55 minutes of moving by the end of the day is awesome! Tonight I took my daughter for a walk to put her to sleep and rather than stay on the flat sidewalk, I pushed her down into a sunken grass field and went up and down a couple of times. Felt awesome and was cooler than the sidewalk. #wycwyc!!

I love the idea of Move It Friday! one of my #wycwyc’s is to hula hoop while I brush my teeth. I love to hoop so it makes me brush my teeth longer and it gets me a few extra minutes of hooping in during the day. I might have to add flossing to this routine, too.

Yum, that coleslaw looks and sounds delicious. So I’ve been following you for a number of years now and have been recently inspired by your #wycwyc movement. Yes, it’s a movement. :) And I was wondering if you’d consider supporting and promoting myself and my mom as we take on one of our most favorite journey’s in September. We are walking (with a team of family and friends) in the 3Day Breast Cancer Walk in Philadelphia. Each member of our team needs to raise $2300 to be able to actually walk for the three days. I have already met my goal, but my mom (who has battled breast cancer 3 times) has a long way to go. So, if you and your dedicated readers, could help her reach her goal before September 1st that would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to here page:

    And to our team page:

Yum yum yum! I’m all in for that coconut milk :) My favourite thing right now is eggs. It’s back to basics for me.

    happy mom

I love using coleslaw veges in asian salads. Using Asian sesame sauce instead of the dressing on regular coleslaw tastes so much better and it gives the veges more of a kick!
