Hello from Savannah!
The past two days have been crazy. We piled into a large rental van on Tuesday morning and hit the road.
That’s me, my mom, Jen, and Jen’s daughter Cameron. Pretty much half my FitBloggin’ team.
The drive was nice. The Husband drove most of the way allowing me to relax a bit.
We stopped for lunch at a Joe’s Crab Shack somewhere in Virginia.
Mom never ate at one so we thought it would be fun.
Back on the road and getting a little punchy. This was somewhere in North Carolina.
I’m pretty sure we just got done making fun of Mom’s flip phone.
I mean really.. a FLIP PHONE!
She loves it though.
Anyway, we got in town around 9:30 p.m. after navigating a crazy rainstorm in the dark.
This morning I woke up and ran first thing. I’m 25 days into my #runstreak and there’s no way I’m stopping now. Last year I loved streaking through the conference. I swear it helped me stay sane.
I decided to just run in a square around the hotel.
However I did go out of my way to see the Waving Girl.
I really love running and sight, seeing!
Once I got back to the hotel it was go go go! Lots of stuff to organize and find and plan and decide. It’s stressful but this is by far my favorite part of the conference planning process. I like being on site and making things happen.
Even though it’s a lot of work we also have a lot of fun. This is Bill, our AV guy, and Erin our sponsorship coordinator being goofs and trying on this year’s conference shirt.
Every year I try to get something fun for the conference. Last year it was the socks. I REALLY loved those!
Anyway, after a full day of bag stuffing we had dinner and strolled around Savannah for some more sightseeing.
And we ended the day with some famous Savannah ice cream.
I ordered a small only to find out they had a child size afterwards.
Note to self: ALWAYS ask for kids size at ice cream places. It’s cheaper and fewer calories plus you still get your fix. Really, it’s a win win win!
Alright it’s time to go. I need some sleep and I’m planning a morning run to start the day. I have a feeling it’s going to be a crazy one!
