Get over it. It’s time to stop the guilt trips and cut yourself some slack.

1. You’ll get back to running soon, healing your leg is more important.

2. Stop using food for comfort. When has it ever made you feel better?

Answer: Never. Actually it always makes you feel worse.

3. Just keep doing what you’re doing. Take it day-by-day and for the LOVE of God do not buy this…

    Oh my! I can’t believe you posted this picture! Just tonight I saw it on the news and actually yelled at my tv, “Really?!!! Like I need to know about this?!!” I just had to laugh. It is nice to know that I am not alone in needing to draw on some serious strength to not buy some B&Js! Really though, it is your #2 comment about not using food for comfort that was so spot on. I am so guilty of that! You are 100% right. In the end, it always makes me feel worse. If I just remember that, it will make resisting the ice cream easier.

    It is pretty to look at, though. Thank goodness they come in small tubs. And probably aren’t available in Canada yet.
    I wanted to eat junk all night too, but am finally getting into that mindset too and realizing that I don’t really want it. What I do want is to get more sleep.

    Perhaps there’s some stretches for your injury that would be beneficial, and also provide an outlet. Get well soon!

    The very last line of your post made me laugh! I pictured me on the couch with the tub and a spoon and thought, truer words were never spoken…

    What you are doing for your niece is the nicest thing ever. You are making a time that could be scary for her into an adventure with her cousins. And I’m sure your mom appreciates being able to focus on her hubby right now!

    Definitely cut yourself some slack. Better to lay off now and heal than keep running and end up being out of commission for a longer time.
    Had my colonoscopy yesterday (see what you have to look forward to?) and was told not to exercise and rest. I had to give myself a stern talking to so I didn’t walk up the clubhouse and get on the treadmill.
    Our bodies need rest too.

    Ok that is what you told me about 4 months ago when I was having trouble after surgery–it is now 4 months later and I have gained 20 pds–so I sould of listened to you!!
    I am trying now to turn it around but I let my bad habits take over–I am hoping that Lent will help–it usually does.
    Glad you are taking it easier.
    Hope your body heals soon.
