Note: If you don’t know what cruise I’m talking about, click here.
Where do I begin? Today started on the beach. The beach!
That was the sunrise shot I took after running to the end of the inlet. At least I think it’s an inlet. (I have more photos but they are stuck on my phone and I can’t access them at the moment. :(
Anyway, our hotel was literally ON the beach. There was no way I was going to miss an opportunity to run first thing in the morning. No way!
After my run and Mom’s walk, we packed up and met our cruising group. We were more than ecstatic to start the day.
After some logistics we arrived at the port.
We boarded and headed straight to our cabin. It’s awesome!
As a first time cruiser I’m sure I’m being spoiled.
We settled a bit and then set off to explore!
I dragged Mom up the stairs with me most of the day.
My goal is to NOT use the elevators. Not once.
I’ll keep you posted.
My first meal was amazing. We hit the buffet and I enacted my cruise eating strategy.
Pile on the salad greens and other vegetables that look good, pair with yummy protein and add on some brothy soup.
With full bellies we walked and explored.
(I’d share more photos but the Internet connection isn’t the greatest.)
A toast as we embark!
I loved sailing past the beach I ran on in the morning.
Those were the rocks I climbed to get the sunrise photo!
We headed back out to see more of the ship and came across our boarding photo, which came out AWESOME!
Before we knew it we had a cocktail hour date and dinner with the American Heart Association and Princess Cruise crew.
The meal started with, what I’ll call, a fancy caprese salad.
I only ate half the cheese. It was SO good but there was so much and I knew I had more courses on the way.
Next up was a porcini pasta dish.
Oh my WORD was it good. I really have no words.
The main course: A grilled veal chop.
Again, no words.
Dessert: A white chocolate mousse with limoncello cream.
You guessed it, amazing! BUT I only hate half.
I was proud of myself for walking away from dinner satisfied but not stuffed.
The night ended with lots of chit-chatting and mingling. Mom made a new friend.
That’s Ary Nunez, celebrity trainer, fitness expert and Nike-sponsored athlete, and she’s is AWESOME!
I’m going to do my best to keep a food journal all week. I’m sure I’ll miss a few tastes here and there but overall it will be accurate. I think it will be a fun challenge!

|Beef jerky||Snack I brought – In the cabin my stomach started growling.|
|3 chocolate-covered strawberries and a glass of champagne||It was a welcome-aboard gift along with the champagne when we embarked.|

I hope to share some fun photos throughout the day on Instagram if you want to follow along!
Full disclosure: Princess Cruises and the American Heart Association have covered my expenses for this trip. All opinions are my own.
