One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

It’s Sensational Sunday Time!

Someone was just not happy I didn’t want to stay in bed all morning watching Max & Ruby.

I dragged him and his brother downstairs for breakfast, and even though I offered to cook they both chose cereal.

Usually they go for waffles or pancakes so I can’t complain about the occasional cereal request.

Me? I went with a sweet potato hash.

I have so many sweet potatoes from the farm I have to eat them before they go bad. I thought adding them to breakfast was a good idea.

While photographing my breakfast (I may share it on GreenLiteBites so I needed to take a few different shots) Someone was asking if I’d play Legos.

I, of course, said yes but only if he’s make a funny face.

The boys and I built a bridge wonderland around the Duplo Thomas Train.

Of course they got distracted by the big blue ball while I finished our Lego creation.

Since they were playing so nicely I started dinner in the crock pot.

Country style ribs and I threw in some wrapped potatoes to cook along side so I wouldn’t have to worry about them later.

Basketball break while doing the laundry.

Before too long I lost the boys.

One to Cut the Rope…

And the other to Roblox and Cartoon Network.

Since they were distracted I decided to have some fun in the kitchen with some frozen butternut squash puree.

I made an awesome soup with a few ingredients I had on and and paired it with a salad.

The boys helped me clean out the fridge of leftovers but until I shut off the TV they wouldn’t acknowledge my existence.

The Husband came home a little later from tennis practice and made himself lunch finishing even more leftovers.

With the 2-year-old napping and the 8-year-old folding his laundry, I decided it was time for my Sunday Run.

But first a quick bite of banana.

When I got back the 2-year-old finally got his way.

He got to watch Max & Ruby in “the big bed.” Translation: My bed.

I got to fold laundry.

Afterwards I pulled out the most amazing dinner from the crock pot and paired it with some frozen peas.

Notice the fork marks. I was so excited I almost forgot to snap a picture!

Dinner with the boys was fabulous.

And everyone kind-of ate again. The 2-year-old needed a little convincing.

After dinner we dance-cleaned, took baths and settled in.

It was a great Sensational Sunday. The house is clean. Food is prepped. Tea is made. I’m ready to tackle the week and I KILLED it today.

It’s time for me to go to bed. I’m REALLY trying to get at least 7 hours a night.

Hope you had a great weekend!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Hi Roni! So I am about to sound like a crazy person due to my “type A” personality I am sure…but I discovered your blog literally almost a year ago. Because I am the type of person who has to start a book on the first page, I went alllllll the way back to your very first post and have been reading along bit by bit until this morning I have actually caught up with you in real time! So I suppose now that I am reading present day it’s time to “de-lurk” and pay you a well deserved compliment- YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION! I have loved reading every single post and am so grateful to your straight-forward, tell-it-like-it-is honesty with yourself. Few people can be so transparent (especially when putting it out there for the world to see!) and it is so good to read a blog written by a real, live, honest-to-goodness person who has ups and downs and is pushing through it all. Thank you for taking the time to share your life with all of us and you have gained a life-long reader in me! You are such a beautiful person, both inside and out and you deserve to be reminded of that every day, as I believe we all do. :)

My mind is seriously BLOWN. I can’t believe you went ALL the way back!

Thank you so much for your awesome comment and kind words. I really needed it today too.

Sorry Roni – I know you’ve covered this before, but what device are you using for the activity/sleep tracker. I am trying to decide on one and there are so many that I am not sure where to start… but I like all the stats you are getting. Thanks in advance.

I’ll second that…or third that? I love my one!!

      January 20, 2014

I thought you went yo the force. Have you gone back to the one?

      January 21, 2014

I did but I didn’t like it so I traded it for my Mom’s One. It was just too big on my wrist. I prefer the clip.

This may sound weird but your Sensational Sunday posts are my FAVORITE! The highlight of my Monday at work is getting to read them! Its soooo nice to see someone live an active, healthy, happy life! :)

Thank you for this comment because honestly, I’ve been thinking of stopping them. They rarely get comments anymore and I just assumed people were bored by them.

Noooooooo!!! I love them – it makes you a “real person” and not just a fitness health blogger! :) I found your blog a year or two ago, and did read it from start to current when I found it… I love your journey and your story! It’s very real, and I hope to be living with the same balance you do some day!

I enjoy the Sunday posts. Don’t stop unless it’s a hassle to do them. This post I kept staring at the blue slinky in a bowl, lunch and dinner?! And why does it look like you’re cooking in a plastic bag?

      January 21, 2014

LMAO I put the slinky in the nut bowl when I wiped the table and there it stays. As for the bag, I’ve had the same box of crock pot liners for over a year, I finally put one to use.
