Sensational Scenes From My Weekend

3 Comments 1130 views

The holiday season is in full swing and I’m trying to navigate it all. I don’t have a traditional Sensational Sunday post but I thought I’d share a few photos from the weekend.

It all started Friday when my in-laws came to babysit so we could attend The Husband’s annual Holiday Party.

I look forward to this event every year. We dress up, dance, and because we stay overnight in New Jersey, have no kids to wake up with the next day!

This year I found an awesome dress at a local department store for 19.99. I fell in love with its color and neckline.

So flattering.

We really had an amazing time and I was so proud of The Husband (well, really both of us) for dancing the night away.

Although I thought the blip on my Fitbit would have been a bit more impressive.

We drove home Saturday afternoon and hung out with the family. It was nice. I ended up making a big dinner for everyone and since my in-laws were still in town, The Husband and I got a little Christmas shopping in kid-less. It was nice.

This morning I snuck to the gym to practice some lifts (less than four weeks until my second CrossFit competition) and then rushed the kids to my friend’s Breakfast with Santa Party.

We had a blast.

I tried to take a selfie with the 2-year-old but made the mistake of saying, “look up!”

Which then corrected to, “No, I mean look at the camera.”

lol He cracks me up!

He was a little timid around Santa but did great overall.

I’m not a real Santa fan or pusher. The Husband calls me a scrooge but I just don’t get into all the fuss. I don’t do the mall Santa thing, I don’t hide elves, and if it was up to me, the whole gift giving thing would be much more modest.

For me the holiday is all about spending time with family. Don’t get me wrong, we have our traditions, but they are pretty low key.

Anyway, after the party we ate lunch and then honestly, I took a nap. I was EXHAUSTED!

When I woke up we set up the camera and took a few photos for the Christmas cards this year.

Someone ALWAYS needs to be reminded to smile normally.

Our family shot came out great.

Everyone was looking!

I love watching my family change over the years.

Blows my mind how time is flying.

After the family photo shoot I pulled together some leftovers for dinner and we settled in to watch the Survivor finale.

That was it. Overall, the weekend felt pretty low key. I’ve been scrambling to get Christmas cards and photo books done for presents and I finally got ahead of it.

My food journal has been a bit of a disaster since Friday but I’m committing to it tomorrow.

OK, must go. I’m up too late yet again. This sleep thing always bites me in the butt.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I can’t believe how big the boys are!! It seems like it was yesterday that you only had “the toddler”! And now he is a handsome big boy!! Hope you have an incredible holiday season :)

That dress looks great on you! What a bargain! Also, dancing is such a fun way to get exercise while also bonding with your hubby! Have a great holiday!

I bet the Hubster was proud to have you as his date at the party! Fun to see how your kids have changed over the past few years, but you parents haven’t. Where do you have the fountain of youth hidden away??
