My least favorite part of winter?

Constant holiday temptation.

I went to a party tonight and it was, of course, loaded with holiday treats. I went with a small bag of chips and one cookie.

It was a #wycwyc moment for me for sure. Those darn cookies were calling my name!

I decided to keep myself accountable for the next few weeks by keeping my food journal again. It may sound weird but I’m looking at it like as a Christmas present to myself.

I’m on MyFitnessPal if you want to follow along.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I love that idea of logging food being a Christmas gift to yourself. I too have started logging again and plan to do it through the holiday to keep myself accountable.

quiet reader. but I do appreciate you opening up your mfp to us. I’m not nosy but curious to what you eat as we battle the same daily “demons”. I am impressed you can have treats and eat proper and still stay within your intake goals. I realize you try to avoid that but at the same time, I can see how it can work into a food plan a few times a week (especially during the holidays). I tend to save up for the big kahuna dessert at the end of the day….I don’t fully trust myself to incorporate sweets throughout day (yet).

Hmmm let’s see. My favorite part of winter? The first snow and then my second favorite is the END of winter. I track every day and like the thought that it is a gift to myself.

Taking care of yourself and being aware of what you’re eating/doing IS a GREAT gift to yourself! :)

Loving #wycwyc and it’s definitely helping with holiday temptations! Another tip that’s helped me (from #fitnessista, who helped me find your blog through her post on Fitbloggin) is not to waste calories on pre-packaged snacks that you can have any time, but to spend it wisely on something special – in other words, Nana’s homemade pie that she only makes once per year is way more worth it than a bag of M&Ms you can get anytime. As a previous strict calorie-counter, this was difficult for me because pre-packaged things are way easier to track and already portion-controlled, but once I got past that, it really helped my mindset….why blow 200 calories on a bag of pre-packaged and processed stuff that I can get any old day and just want in the moment when I can try something homemade for a special occasion? :) Anyway, jus thought I’d share!

I love this and SO true. We do tend to grab for easy tracking snacks instead of things that are worth it!
