I KNOW I’m 37!
But don’t I look younger?
Aren’t all the healthy foods I eat and the crazy CrossFit workouts helping?
Doesn’t running keep you young?
At least a little?
Apparently not! According to my Vitality Age, I’m right where I’m supposed to be, 37.
I recently had an opportunity to engage with the HumanaVitality program, providing it feedback and sharing my experience with its system. I was excited for the opportunity to get feedback on my current lifestyle while having it make recommendations to figuratively help me turn back the clock.
I’m not exaggerating; I was really disappointed my Vitality Age wasn’t younger. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy it’s not higher! Many people are surprised by their Vitality Age, finding their lifestyle ages them even more than the clock does.
When I took the test I can see why. Sometimes we only think of our diet, weight, or physical activity as factors that contribute to our overall health.
These questions I expected:
But what about mental health and depression?
The test got me thinking about ways I could live just a little bit healthier, and that’s the point!
I am also able to earn what are called Vitality Bucks in the program, which I can redeem for things like movie tickets, music downloads, Fitbits (YAY!!) and Amazon gift cards.
My goal over the next few months is to use the program, follow its advice and see if I can lower my Vitality Age. I’d love to eek out a 29 but that may be a pipe dream.
I’ll keep you posted.
