What Do You Mean I’m 37?

5 Comments 1552 views

I KNOW I’m 37!

But don’t I look younger?

Act younger?

Aren’t all the healthy foods I eat and the crazy CrossFit workouts helping?

Doesn’t running keep you young?

At least a little?

Apparently not! According to my Vitality Age, I’m right where I’m supposed to be, 37.

IntroPost1

I recently had an opportunity to engage with the HumanaVitality program, providing it feedback and sharing my experience with its system. I was excited for the opportunity to get feedback on my current lifestyle while having it make recommendations to figuratively help me turn back the clock.

I’m not exaggerating; I was really disappointed my Vitality Age wasn’t younger. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy it’s not higher!  Many people are surprised by their Vitality Age, finding their lifestyle ages them even more than the clock does.

When I took the test I can see why. Sometimes we only think of our diet, weight, or physical activity as factors that contribute to our overall health.

But what about mental health and depression?

The test got me thinking about ways I could live just a little bit healthier, and that’s the point!

I am also able to earn what are called Vitality Bucks in the program, which I can redeem for things like movie tickets, music downloads, Fitbits (YAY!!) and Amazon gift cards.

My goal over the next few months is to use the program, follow its advice and see if I can lower my Vitality Age. I’d love to eek out a 29 but that may be a pipe dream.

I’ll keep you posted.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

No way are you 37! I always describe you as “this 20-something gal with two adorable little boys.” I honestly do!

Atleast your vitality age is doing just fine. It just shows that you are really healthy. Good Job. I love your blog.

Curious – what type of things did the questionnaire reveal that you could do become more healthy?

Most of my things are related to seeing my doc and getting check ups which I need to do to get more accurate bloodwork for the system too.
