When I saw this quote I immediately smiled.
“Anything I’ve ever done that ultimately was worthwhile…initially scared me to death.” — Betty Bender
It perfectly describes my mindset lately. In every aspect of my life (professionally and personally) I’ve been embracing the fear and self-doubt I have and it’s helped me realize something.
That the little nagging voice, the inner-mean girl if you will, only starts to speak up when I am attempting something scary and out of my comfort zone. But it’s that scary thing that ultimately makes me stronger and more confident just by attempting it. I don’t even need to succeed. I just need to get over the fear and try.
That’s why I took the leap with live meetings. That’s why I signed up for the competition. That’s why I’m reaching out more and more. As soon as I start to hear inner mean girl and feel that tinge of fear…
I know it’s something I should do.
I know it’s something I NEED to do.
