“Life is like a taxi. The meter just keeps ticking whether you are getting somewhere or just standing still.” — Author Unknown

When I was younger I used to say things like,

When I lose weight, I’ll …

or

When I’m a size 6, life will….

All through my teens and 20s, that was my attitude. Back then I didn’t realize how much time I was wasting waiting for things to be perfect.

Time, whether we like it or not, is constantly ticking away.

We can wait to see a certain number on the scale or fit our a$$ in some size we think we should be, OR we can live the life we want to live now while doing what we can to reach the personal goals we set for ourselves.

I chose the latter.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Thanks for this post Roni, really going to try and take on board that second-to-last paragraph. I really like the way you put things so simply, it just makes sense!

    Hear, hear!

Sadly, for me it’s easier said than done.

I hope you don’t take this wrong, but I laughed when I saw the numbers on the taxi photo. Isn’t 149 one of your “happy” numbers?

I am working hard on not letting ‘numbers’ affect me. I think I am winning too! I believe this is all a process of learning how to live healthy and gain self confidence!

Believing in ones self is not easy when we’ve not done it before. Self confidence is a fickle mistress! I think you are really a terrific role model for your kids as well as your fans! You go girl! :D

This quote couldn’t have come at a better time. I was just talking to someone recently about how I am constantly in a state of limbo because I can’t start my life until I lose the weight. I need to separate losing my life from doing the things I want to do. I am a work in progress on that front.

This is the mode that I am in right now…and have been for quite some time. This post is bitter sweet to me…part of me is upset because I do this, and part of me is sad because I still haven’t reached my goals yet. AND there is also a part of me that is wanting to break free of this idea of being perfect and just live my life. You’ve got me thinking, Roni! :)
