One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

LIES, Opinions and 3 Thoughts.

It happened again. My photos are being used to peddle some weight-loss product. Actually this time I think it’s just being used to game the system and get more Facebook followers.

Screen Shot 2013-08-05 at 4.40.28 PM

I don’t want to give them any more attention by linking to them because that’s what they really want anyway. I’ve reported them to Facebook and I’m hoping they take the post down soon.

As if having my photo used without my permission wasn’t enough I have to read the comments like…

First pic is the best

Still has no fashion sense

She looked better at day 15

She looks anorexic

Far too skinny on day 30. Should have stopped at day 15.

She looked the healthiest on day 1 just my opinion

Yet again I’m reminded, everyone has an opinion. Remember my Peanut Gallery post? I was told I was too skinny by one schmuck and another one was telling me I was gaining too much.

*sigh*

I’m just not in the mood for this crap. I have to get 3 things off my chest…

1. I HATE WEIGHT LOSS SCAMS! Especially ones that have to steal photos to sell their $hit products, but really, all of them. If someone is selling you something that promises quick weight loss IT IS A SCAM. PLEASE, for the love of GOD, stop giving these companies your money.

2. I’m so tired of everyone having an opinion on everyone else’s weight. Myself included. I’m guilty. Why do we care so much about how small or big another person’s body is? WHAT is the fascination?

3. In case you are wondering those photos (Day 1 and Day 30) were exactly a year apart. EXACTLY. If you want to lose weight it can be done but you are going to have to do the work. It’s hard and it requires changing your thought process, your eating habits and your lifestyle. I’m STILL figuring it out day-by-day after 8 years. Don’t fall for the gimmicks, they just keep you in the cycle.

OK, I’m done.

Feeling better.

Update: It’s been taken down!!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I am sorry people are taking you photos and using them to sell BS products. It is a shame. I agree I hate the comments people think they can make about someone else’s body. I think being told I was too skinny made me madder then fat comments did. It is my body and as long as I am losing weight in a healthy manner keep your mouth shut. I think people have forgotten to filter what comes out of their mouth. They think because it is on the internet they can say whatever comes across their mind. Sad.

Oh hugs! That sucks that they stole your pics. Please don’t let it stopyou from being you – you inspire so many people! We have this group at work who are all really health conscious and we occasionally share things we see on the web with each other. Well one day a close co-worker sent us all a link to one of your great posts and I was so proud to say, hey! I know her!

I can’t believe someone stole your pics like that! But, I also clicked over to your post from when this happened before. I really think you should’ve sued HCG for what they did. that is just not right in any way shape or form. I hope they get those pics off stat!

And btw, I think you look amazing! Not that it matters what I think. ;) And your fashion sense is great! Forget those losers!

The best part is not only do you look amazing and work your ass off for your results with no gimmicks or diet aides but I love how confident it has made you (your hubby noticed too) and I have become more confident with myself which also has helped in my career. Thanks for being such an inspiration. Keep BEING YOU!

Hugs! Flattery is the best compliment…except in this case. Well, the people that matter-the people whose opinion matters to you- they know all the hard work and dedication it took for you to reinvent your life! Congrats on turning a sour situation into a good blog post! We love The Real Roni!!!

How insulting for them to negate all the sweat and tears that you shed, in order to scam people. So glad it was taken down!

I really don’t understand why people do stuff like that, it’s just sad!

As stinky as this is, it caused me to check your photo tab for the progression pics. Your site used to have the tagline of “one mom’s journey from fat to skinny to healthy” – how true! It’s cool to see how you’ve transformed over the years, & especially since you’ve started working out. The pics from 2006 to now are a great reminder that it’s certainly not only about the number on the scale. Great visual that a few extra pounds of muscle are so worthwhile, and if it does that much for how you look, just think about what it must be doing for your health!!

Ok my first diet was when I was 4 yrs old and it was a liquid diet–guess what it didn’t work. My mom took me to all kinds of crazy doctors and people to lose weight and that ended in high school when I went to a new doctor who gave me 38 pills a day (later found out on the news they were uppers and downers–he lost his licence.) I did find WW and that always worked for me but I was never able to give it the work that made it last.
People there is no MIRACLES out there for weight loss–or I would of found it in the past 57 yrs. Roni you are in a good place for losing weight and maintaining and you help us know it is possible for our lives–mind over matter. I know people hate going to WW meetings but it has helped me keep off 125 pds for 3 yrs–that is a long time for me–I am having a hard time getting the next 25 pds to stay off but if I keep trying I will make it!
Once again Roni THANKS for sharing

First off I want to say “THANK YOU RONI” for being such an inspiration and an honest to goodness role model for so many. I have been following you for many years now on my “health” quest which happens to include wanting to lose some weight, but the end factor is my health being at its best .
Although I have not always been successful I have always realized that there is no quick fix and those individuals out there trying to sell it and utilizing your good deeds is a true testament to how low they will go and how un-honest they are. It is greed that drives them, as they know they need to use a real persons “truthful” success to try and advertise their own “junk”.
Thank you for standing your ground Roni and showing others that it is not right for others to prosper on your honest success and that buying into those quick fixes only leaves many penniless but also dealing with emotions of the up and down rollercoaster in many weight loss journeys.
Roni you are an inspiration to many of us in more ways than one, and I appreciate all that you do by sharing your life and hard work, with your photos, recipes, your blogs, your comments…It is your honesty that hits home with me and it is that quality that inspires me more each and every day!

This is really sad! And more so than that – FRUSTRATING! And people are saying ugly things about you because they are jealous that you did that “in thirty days.” If they knew the real journey you had taken, I’m sure they wouldn’t be so critical. My parents are convinced that they should buy this pill and thermal belly wrap they keep seeing advertised on TV. Seriously, I’ve heard them go on and on and on about it. The ad even says, “Lose weight while you sit on the couch and eat cookies!!!” Really. HAS AMERICA GOTTEN THAT STUPID/DESPERATE/GULLIBLE??? I’m overweight/obese/whatever it’s classified as at my weight (lol), and I would LOVE to lose weight while eating cookies. The problem is, THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN. Okay, I guess you fueled my fire! LOL I hope they get this junk taken care of. I wonder if you could get on there and threaten to prosecute them for using them? Maybe if you scare them up a little, they will retreat. Also, maybe you should comment and tell people the REAL story. Then maybe they’ll visit your blog and NOT buy that crazy product. Argh.

I read this post the day you posted it, and then today I see the pictures on my facebook page as one of those stupid sponsored suggested sites . I re-read your post and it says they took it down. I am sorry to tell you it is back up. That is terrible! It is all exactly the same but it has a women’s fitness magazine photo instead of the “eat well live well” so it looks very official. Good luck to you in getting it down! Love your blog!
