We’re at the beach!
Did I tell you we were going to the beach? I can’t remember.
Anyway, every year around this time we spend a week at Seaside Heights, NJ. It’s a family tradition, one we inherited from The Husband’s family. Click here to see some pics dating all the way back to 2003!
I started the day with a quick run on the beach and recorded one of my Vacation Running videos…
Last year (on this very same trip) I started the tradition of taking a short video during a run while on vacation. My goal is to try and inspire others to run while they are on vacation, too. Click here to see my whole running on vacation playlist.
The whole running on vacation thing is important to me. It’s kind of a long story but in short I went on a weekend trip YEARS ago (way before I had kids) with a group of people I didn’t really know that well and there was a couple who ran every morning. At the time I thought they were nuts. Actually I’m pretty sure The Husband and I had a conversation about how crazy they were while we were there. I mean WHO runs on VACATION? It’s ludicrous.
But in reality, I was jealous of them. They were fit, active, confident, and doing things that I was simply too insecure to do.
Now I get it.
Anyway, I didn’t mean to hijack my own post. I mean it is SUNDAY! And I took lots of pictures. :)
After my run I cut up one of the fresh cantaloupes I picked up at a farm stand on the way to the beach.
With all the junk we eat on the boards, I try to have some good stuff to snack on at the beach house. Especially with Dad’s influence. *cough* Notice the Captain Crunch in the cereal bowl.
Yeah, that doesn’t fly at home.
After breakfast we embarked.
Six hours on the beach and it was all AWESOME!
It was also exhausting!
After showers and naps we headed back out…
…for dinner at Klees!
Then it was off to the arcade!
One final stroll on the boards…
…before bedtime stories.
Can you believe The Husband actually grabbed the camera and took a picture WITHOUT being asked? It was the highlight of the day for me. lol
Anyway, I had a great day and we still have all week! My goal is to run at least a mile a day while I’m here and get The Husband to take me to see The Conjuring on Friday for my Birthday. :)
