Wednesday Weigh In!

I’m here! SO sorry for the late weigh-in post. Things are crazy with the conference and end of the school year. I’m trying to get as much done before heading to the school this afternoon to volunteer for the end-of-year party.

Anyway, I DID NOT GET ON THE SCALE this morning, and you know what, it was easy. I didn’t even think about it! I was too distracted by the kids, making breakfast, packing lunches, getting ready for the gym, etc., etc., etc.

It’s amazing how habits are started and broken. All it took was a few days of consciously not getting on the scale — almost forcing myself not to — and now I just forgot.  Just a few weeks ago I was thinking about weigh-in day for, well, days! Now the scale is the farthest thing from my mind.

Maybe it’s just because I’m busy but that’s OK. There really is a freedom that comes from NOT being distracted by the number. At this point I’m just going to take it week by week.

How was your week? Scale or no scale reading — we want to know!

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

i was up 1.6 lbs today, from my start weight at the beginning of may, but i don’t even really trust the scale anymore (am training for the chicago marathon and the stress on my body seems to cause water retention some days). but i’m happiest (and actually, weigh less) when i don’t focus on the scale. have only weighed myself a couple of times this week and don’t plan on doing so again for a bit. being so “results” oriented tends to bring out my binge eating tendencies.

I’ve been toying with the idea of going off-scale, but I’m just not sure that I’m at that point yet. I have gotten away from daily weigh-ins (I was still only recording once a week) — but I think I need that weekly reminder that if I do what I’m “supposed” to do (eat right/exercise) – that the scale reflects that… and when I don’t, well, it shows that too.

But congrats on breaking the habit!

That being said, I’m down 3lbs this week!

    Highest Weight: 294 (in 2003/2004)

    Starting Weight: 279.4 (Jan. 1, 2013 — ish)

    Last week’s weight: 245.0

    Today’s weight: 242.0

I’m really excited about getting closer and closer to the 230s! I literally don’t remember the last time I was in the 230s… probably 8th/9th grade (1998/99).

I am here and I am doing really well. I do take some notice of the scale, as I have some weight I need to lose, but that’s ok. Mostly, I am focusing on getting stronger and feeling better. I was accepted for this amazing online boot camp that has you work with your inner issues, the why’s and how’s etc. and it’s making such a difference!! Looooove it!

Well, this is the first time below 127 in a month. However, in full (and gross) disclosure, I puked my guts out last night. Ugh. (Not pregnant, but a reaction to a dinner ingredient, I think). My stomach is still pretty iffy today, so it will be a light-eating kind of day to keep the barfing away.

Well I have rededicated myself to try–LOL–most of my eating! Last night I ate M&M’s with peanuts (far too many) but I am doing much better today (it is 11:48 here) and I am on track. Going on my walk soon. I have been losing weight but I went up over 20 pds in four weeks so it will take awhile to get that off.

Very happy to be moving in the right direction again, I’d had a few weeks of gains and then maintaining the gains. And better than the loss, I got back to the pool to do laps this morning. It has been far too long – and felt SO good. So here’s to keeping up with moving more!

I’m down from 2 weeks ago which thrills me because in those 2 weeks I went to Hilton Head with my Hunny to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It was a great time away without kids, just spending quality time together. I don’t weigh when I’m away either which always makes it a little interesting weighing when I get back home. But seriously I’m never surprised when I come home that I’ve gained because when I’m gone I EAT OUT!!! That always has extra stuff that comes with it, sodium, fat, wine…unless I’m cooking it myself I can’t expect that it’s going to be totally clean. Summer has a way of making beer taste better, tangary and tonics taste amazing…i gotta keep myself on target (weighing) cause they aren’t free!!!

I forgot yesterday was Wednesday, so weighed today. After being stuck and then gaining last week for no reason, I tried real hard to not let the scale get me down. But it did. I gave myself one pizza lunch of freedom last week, and that snowballed into about 3 more days of… freedom. Then I remembered an inspirational phrase – Don’t let the perfect stand in the way of the good. I had been feeling so good about how I was living, so why was I letting all that go, just because I wasn’t getting “perfect” results on the scale? So I got back on the horse and stopped weighing myself every day. I don’t know if today’s reading is real, or if I’m still on the scale roller coaster, but I’ve got to keep reminding myself that it doesn’t really matter.
