One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

Weekend Quote: Life Doesn’t Wait

10 Comments 2568 views

I’m FLOORED how many people have sent me the link to this blog post from Teresa Porter. It’s called “So you’re feeling too fat to be photographed . . .” and Teresa is DEAD ON.

Life doesn’t wait until you “get thin” enough to capture it. Life is happening . . . it is happening right now and the only moment we are guaranteed is the one we are living.

I’ve been saying this for YEARS! It was the realization I made 8 years ago when I was pregnant with Ryan. We have to stop waiting to live life UNTIL we lose weight. Stop fearing photos. Stop fearing clothes. Stop fearing activities. Stop fearing life.

The fear isn’t going to go away overnight, but the more you push yourself out of your comfort zone, the more you face the camera, the more you accept yourself and your body for what it is RIGHT NOW, the easier it is to reach your goals.

Losing weight is not the prerequisite to living the life you want to live, it’s the result.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

I SO needed to hear this today! I have a 9 month old son that has about 1,345,340,765 of himself and I am in less than 20 of those. Time to get out from behind the camera and document LIFE as it is now.

RIGHT ON. This is SO right!!! This is my theme this year (and ongoing): love yourself first. Change yourself second. Not that they don’t/can’t happen simultaneously, eventually; but that the priorities absolutely must be in order, for this to happen.

I love your positivity and your stateless-dieting approach; both keep me coming back to your blog! Thanks for putting out such practical encouragement.

Love it! Thanks for the reminder. It’s been my mantra the last few weeks.

This is completely true! I know I have been guilty of it over certain periods of my life, and it never solves anything. Great reminder to just live.

This resembles me way too much! I lived a lot of my life hiding from the camera cause I did not like what I saw – I still do at times – I am trying.. Thx Roni!
