A Wednesday Weigh In Shocker!

As I hinted last night I knew the scale would be down this morning but I didn’t think it would be THIS down! I have not seen a number this low since before getting pregnant. I wasn’t really weighing-in regularly back then but I was maintaining around 145. I know the scale isn’t the end all be all in measuring success but for me, right now, it’s matching how I feel. My clothes are feeling a little less snug. I’m waking up with less bloat. I just feel, well, thin. I know. I know. Fat is not a feeling and neither is thin but the truth is I FEEL leaner.

Ok, enough about me! How was your week?!? I have so much to do and catch up on I’m going to have to cut this weeks post short. Check in with everyone in the comments and if you aren’t having a good week don’t walk away. Don’t NOT comment. Comment! That’s why we are here. :)

    4.2 lbs lost in two weeks, NOT TOO SHABBY. I’ve been kicking my own ass into gear with running and yoga and Zumba (if I can find the time) and I’m really starting to feel better about myself, just hope top keep up my momentum.

    I had lost my motivation the past 3 weeks. Had a really BIG Fat Tuesday–felt miserable last night and I’m so glad it is Ash Wednesday for me. I don’t think my weigh-in at WW this Sat. will be good but I am hoping during Lent to get back on the band wagon. I truly need to get through this fourth year because I have never made it before. I believe if I can stay on track for the fourth year all the rest will fall in line–one can only hope!!!!!!!

    Oh, wow!! That’s awesome, congratulations!!

    I am still struggling. A bit of a mess after a rough work trip and the stress that came after plus the family situation is slightly delicate at the moment. But all will be well and I can hear my mojo – just have to make sure it feels welcome enough to come home :)

    way to go! i know for me easy is the key…and being able to refer to the weekly as well as the daily requirements is also a great way to see if i’ve gone overboard on sodium or not gotten enough calcium.

    so i’m up .8 from last week, but it’s also that time of the month so it’s not surprising. i did however see the 120’s on the scale within the past 7 days so that is encouraging. i feel like i have been saying for weeks now “the end is near” and it isn’t yet…arg.

    i’m reading a book “eat to live”, by joel fuhrman, md, and it really has been an eye opener. it has really helped me increase my veggies and fruits, and has made me more aware of some unhealthy choices i make. veggies are such an amazing gift…so i’m making it a conscious effort to keep it interesting and get those servings in! i really feel better than i have ever felt in my 43 years and i know it’s because of what i put into my mouth.

    Stress out-eat junk-feel like junk-eat more junk ’cause you’re sad that you ate junk and feel like junk=gain 1.8 lb. Sigh. Still working on dealing with the stress of work, my husband’s cancer and everyday life without eating from a tub of frosting. One day at a time.

    Does anyone else get weird about entering their weight on a drivers license application? My license was due for renewal, and then of course, I physically lose the darn thing last week. So instead of a quick renewal at the DMV I have to fill out the application declaring it lost, and provide two extra forms of ID since I didn’t have my license to show. (I learned that a certified transcript from school can be used as ID–who knew?) Anyway, I entered a number higher than my current weight on the application. And now I don’t know why–am I giving myself permission to gain weight? Am I hedging my bets in case I DO gain weight? Why do I even care???

    Roni, I am in the same boat as you working on those last few pounds. Can I ask you a question? I am trying to figure out where my calories need to be. I lost my first 120 pounds eating 1500 calories. Now at a smaller size I don’t know how much I should be eating. I try and workout 6 times a week, spin, running, and using the total gym. Any guesses?

    Awesome! Way to go Roni! I am maintaining 136.4, would like to get down to 130ish…continuing to struggle with snacking and eating crap. Not sure what my issues are…maybe someday I will figure it out.

    Awesome! I so know what you mean about “feeling” thinner. I lost 3.9 pounds this week!!!! As someone who’s been at this for a while, that’s a big number! I also feel “thin”…I hope it lasts!!

    FINALLY out of the 160s! A great week!!! Did a little change to my workout and voila! it showed on the scale.

    Nice Job, Roni! That’s exciting and inspiring! This week, I kind of took a “break” from cutting back and just tracked what I ate. I think I needed to relax a bit about it all. I was stressing over everything and beating myself up about going over points and ending up in a bad cycle. This past week, I also started tracking on MFP and WW to see where the calories and points stack up. I’m going to shoot for my calorie goal and see where the points fall this week.
    I finally got back out running after a little over a week off with a sore hip and IT band. I’m so glad I took the time off for it to feel better…usually I’d just keep powering through till I couldn’t anymore…not good. Yesterday’s run was amazing! I was able to make it outside and it was my fastest 4 miles to date at 36:30. I ran perfect negative splits for 9:23, 9:14, 9:03 and then pushed hard to break a 9min/mile and made it in at 8:46 for mile 4! My fastest mile EVER!!! I was grinning ear to ear on the 0.2mile walk back to my house….and am still smiling about it :).

    UGH, i know the scale isn’t everything but it still super gets me down. yesterday i was down .2, i know i didn’t “gain” .8 overnight but it feels tons better to have a loss to post

    i’ve started the couch to 5k training. i do it after my hour of weightlifting, i LOVE working out, but the running is killing my knees. but we’ll see how it goes.

    I had been maintaining for about 4-5 weeks then this week I weighed in at 90KG!!! Up 2KG! I haven’t had perfect eating but I’ve been training for a 7km run so my cardio has been up there. I just KNOW it’s the excess sugar in my diet from cookies, cake etc so no added sugar is my goal for the next 3 weeks. Gotta use the anger to motivate me to get the weight down again.

    I stayed the same for a few weeks.

    I started walking again. It was so cold here in Canada that I took a break. I will go running Saturday morning. Also, i cut most sugar from my diet. This is not easy.

    Great job, I love when you see progress like that, it makes it feel all worth it. I have been away for 2 weeks but I haven’t changed in my weight. I have stuck to my running schedule, but my eating hasn’t been great. I had my sons birthday an my period and so I am happy that I stayed the same and didn’t gain. I have to get my eating in check because I have been a bit slack.

    I’ve been really committed for February, tracking my food, going to hot yoga 5x a week, and it’s so awesome to see the results on the scale. And I agree with Hailey! I’m feeling skinny and it is creating a fantastic feedback loop of making better food choices. I’ve even baked cookies twice in the past week for various reasons and have enjoyed without binging. I track them and build them into my day :)

    Congrats on the loss! I have been peeking in on your MFP diary for food ideas, arent you starving on your 1200 calorie days? I weight 8 pounds more then you and am ready to gnaw my arm off if I eat less than 1500, even when I eat all nutrient dense, healthy foods.

    I’m checking-in but not weighing in. I travelled for work this past week, had a great dinner with friends I’ve had for 30 – 35 years, and good food and drinks the whole time. I know I’m up, know what I need to do to get back on track and am doing it to be back to weighing in next week.     I haven’t commented in a while but THANK YOU for introducing me to MFP. I was doing WW and was doing fine until the new PP+ plan. It has not worked for me. It has been 2 years I have been hopeful that it will eventually kick in for me but it is not working. I didn’t know where else to turn for my tracking so I have been maintaining my weight on WW but I have more to go. MFP seems to have ignited a flame under my fanny. I love it. Of course it has only been 2 days since making the change but I feel so hopeful and motivated again. THANK YOU for being so open and honest it is inspiring!

    YEA!!! Finally a loss again!!! I think my body has been just doing crazy things the past few weeks & not really showing true weights. I know that sounds like an excuse, but REALLY!!! :) Though it’s still just as frustrating, thinking the weight is reflecting whats really going on, but then doubting yourself. WOW, its so easy for me just to give up!! I really have to work on the “all or nothing” attitude, but thanks to Roni who reminds us of that frequently, I can ususally pick myself back up before it gets too out of control!!
    Well today is Valentine’s Day, so dinner reservations have been made, but not planning on going crazy, but @ the same time going to try & enjoy myself without thinking too much about the calories.

    Congrats to you! That’s always a sweet surprise isn’t it? I thought I was working hard and doing well but the scale showed a 2# gain since the day before. I really think it was the (salty) ham and beans I had the night before. I even measured the serving and logged everything on MFP but was a disappointment this morning. :(

    Congrats Roni! That’s awesome.

    I weighed in at 186 which is down four from last week. It tracked everything tips week on MFP, but I think the biggest change I’ve made in the past two weeks is that I stopped adding artificial sweetener to my coffee and stopped drinking diet soda. I has been an amazing change for me!

    Now to get rid of all this valentines day candy!

    Tracking works! It seems so simple but so many of us fight doing it – but really – I would say we are avoiding mindfulness – choosing lack of awareness over true choice. I get tracking may be PITA to some – but I track online w/WW & it takes a couple minutes a day. Why would I stop doing what is working? Seems crazy to me :-) Maybe one day I won’t need to track to maintain a healthy weight – but since I’m just learning about maintenance – I’m going to keep doing what works for weight loss – because i know it will work for maintenance too!

    I’m down 3.6 lbs this week! I haven’t seen 145 since this time last year. I’m down 10 lbs since the new year. I’m giving credit to my 5 a.m. gym visits, my reconnection with strength training, and my growing peace with food. I’ve never had peace with food before. I started my weightloss journey 4.5 years ago and I think (or at least hope) that I’m coming to terms with my food addiction. Only time will tell. For now, I will enjoy the return of my self confidence. Roni, thank you for all you share. It’s always comforting to know I’m not alone in my struggle s and successes.
