Scale-less in Italy but not about to miss our Wednesday Weigh in! Sorry I’m a little late. I’ve been wondering around Venice withe Mom. :)

I must admit I’m not feeling very weight loss focused here on holiday. I’ve been enjoying my time tasting, learning, experiencing. I feel quite full after most meals and I think I’ve eaten more bread in the last 3 days then in the last 3 months!

However, I’m not snacking between meals. I’m not mindlessly munching at the end of the day. I’m not sneaking bites while packing lunch or walking past the pantry.

I’m also walking my butt off an I’ve run twice since I’ve been here!

All in all I think that makes a great weigh in! I’ll get on the scale next week when I’m in home. Honestly, I’m not worried about it right now and I don’t think I should be.

    Wow I am the first person to post this week. This week I managed to lose the rest of the holiday weight that I had put on. Over all in the last two weeks I have lost the 7 pounds that I gained. I am hoping to stick too it and keep up my running and eating healthy. Back to a low sugar, high produce diet with a running program again and it feels great. I wish I was in Italy, and enjoying all their wonderful food and sights. Enjoy Roni! Embrace your holiday and the culture.

    Hi! Italy is wonderfull, but be aware: they use sooooooo much salt EVERYWHERE! Always after a holiday there, if I poke my skin, it leaves a small mark..But it is worth for the amazing food and the “salt-weight” will come right off, when you are back to your normal diet. (First time posting, love your blog!)

    While I have averaged a 2lb weight loss per week over the past two weeks, I’m still frustrated by the small-ish number. I feel like my diet and exercise has been on point…except for on my cheat day. I do a cheat day 1 day per week to keep myself sane, but this past weekend, my cheat day lasted about 36 hours and was absolutely, ridiculously indulgent. I guess that will be my mini-goal for this week – keep the cheat day to an actual 1 day, keep it under control, and still stay motivated to eat clean the rest of the time! HAVE FUN IN ITALY!! make sure you find a place that makes FRESH pasta….so delicious!

    I’ve been feeling super low and unmotivated since the new year. But I started doing yoga and just buckled down and focused on what I’m putting in my body. I started making my own oat milk to prevent a reaction to the carrageenan in my almond milk and I’m feeling better than ever! Now to take my yoga and turn it into cardio on some days.

    Due to medical issues in the family, I’ve been traveling and unable to weigh in for about 10 days. I seem to be maintaining fairly well without obsessing too much, which I am grateful for. I am also grateful that the hospital where I was camped out for the last week (Dad had major surgery) offered plenty of more healthful options than I anticipated. I do need to drink more water this week. Enjoy Italy–one of my favorite places in the world!

    Happy to see the scale moving down again this week. Back in the range I was before the holidays. The week wasn’t without it’s challenges/enjoyments – had beer & snacks at a friends birthday, have enjoyed some chocolates with the kids. But also back to healthy snacking in the evenings (my go to is frozen raspberries!) and soda with frozen berries for evening drinks. Still feels like a treat and doesn’t add too many empty calories. And moving more – feels good! Love reading the updates from Italy – what an amazing experience for you and your mom, Roni.

    I LOVE Italy! Venice and Florence were my favorite. So jealous!! :) I was expecting a huge loss this week because I have been really good, I’ve increased my exercise, and I’ve reduced my daily calories by 300/day and sticking to it. A pound is a pound though! Woot!

    I was hoping you’d post a “weigh-in” today :). Looks like you’re having a great time! I’m so excited for you and think it’s great that you’ve been running still. I was hoping for a bigger loss this week since I knew I was retaining some water last week. I’m so glad to be under 160 again! I’ve been doing WW and meeting my activity goals for each week, but eating all my weeklies and my most if not all my activity points. I know I need to eat only up to about 25% of my activities in order to lose. It’s been a bit of trial and error with how many points I should eat to see consistant loss. I’m hoping I’ve found my happy spot and will keep seeing the numbers go down!

    I think your WI is perfect for traveling! Another small gain for me this week. But I measured out my portions for lunch this week, and have cut myself off from eating after 8pm. Hoping those changes start to ‘kick-in’. I am still motivated, but of course I’d like to see results sooner rather than later.

    all i remember about my time in italy was that i walked my butt off!!! and the food was heavenly. enjoy every minute ; )

    so i’m up .2 this week, but it’s that time of the month this am, so i’m not surprised. these last 5 lbs are going to drive me insane by the time they are no longer part of me i’m sure. this is about the time i would say, “i’m fine where i’m at” and quit, but i’m NOT!!! i’m motivated to keep on going. i took my first snowboarding class this week and had a great workout!! so much fun…a ton more exertional than skiing. can’t wait to go again.

    i’m amazed you’re still keeping your blog up while you’re out of the country…so impressive!!!

    I am still here just focusing on other things than the scale right now. My own trip starts on Sunday and it will be a rough week – so for now I am focused on doing my work well, eat as well as I can and move as much as possible. Everything else will be back in my focus when I return home!

    You definitely have the right attitude about traveling. When I went to Europe this summer I felt the same; experience and do all of the things you can’t do back here….you’ll regret it if you don’t. Kudos to you for even writing a Weigh In Wednesday post from Italy!

    I was down this week, which I am happy about, and feeling like the trend is sticking and sustainable. I will really feel good when I’m under 145 consistently for a few weeks. It seems to be my nemesis number.

    Not a happy camper this week —–up 9 pds. so that is a total of 12 pds for two weeks. This is mainly fluid that I can’t control but it still makes me mad. I go up during the work week and drop on the weekend but I go in cycles where I swing up so high I can’t get down by the weekend. It can take several weeks or a couple of months for my body to get off one of these but in the end I know if I just stick to the plan at the end of this year I will be down on the scale not up!!!! Everyone that gets off Monday–have a good long weekend!

    Don’t worry about your weight while in Italy. When I went there, I ate the way Italians ate – took my time over hours eating supper, ate tons of carbs, had red wine (everything I don’t do at home)…but you know what? I LOST eight pounds that week. I know a lot of it is I did soooo much walking, but it had me rethinking their ways of eating compared to North America. No one rushes when they eat, they take their time and enjoy it and they move a lot.

    It has been a stressful week. We had to put my mom in the hospital with a blood clot in her lungs. She is still at the hospital but doing better. I haven’t had time to exercise and trying to find healthy food at a hospital cafeteria is a nightmare.
    I am just trying to focus on my mom and will try to get back on track when she is out of the hospital.

    On the weigh-in, down .8lbs from last week happy, but more is always great!! Have a little over a week to reach my goal of 132 by Saturday, 1/26/13. Going to visist my sister in Reno & hoping do be down 10 lbs since the last time she saw me in October. I know it’s probably silly, but she’s almost always been the thinner of us & I’d like her to be proud of me. :)

    Oh Italy!!! Enjoy & remember the pleasure of the 1st taste & the 2nd taste – rarely as good as the 10th… But when the 10th IS as good as the 1st – you know you’re in Italy!

    I un- clicked this week (you all know what i mean – hard week) and was temporarily up nearly 3 lbs – scary!
    But i Didn’t then let go like i have in the past – instead i checked in with myself – recommitted & reconnected & headed back to where I want to be when I get pregnant with #2 which is hopefully just around the corner!
