Sorry guys! I didn’t forget about you. I just had a busy morning. Normally I weigh in real quick and either get this post up before my workout or after depending on how prepared I am. Sometimes I have lunches made, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I get up late sometimes I don’t. Sometimes the baby sleeps in sometimes he doesn’t.

My point is: It’s a crapshoot.

To compound the typical morning craziness, this morning I volunteered at Little Guy’s school for their Jump-Rope-a-Thon. It was a blast! Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I don’t have a photo because I was too busy jumping!
I was reminded yet again that All the Hard work is Really Worth it! <--that post is almost 5 years old and I still get a tear reading it. So I may be late but have no fear, I will always post, you may just have to hold on to your weigh-ins for a few hours until I catch up. Here’s my scale reading from this morning. 20130130_weighin

Actually up .6 from my DietBet weigh in but that’s nothing. I’ve been pretty much maintaining this weight for a few weeks now which I’m totally ok with. Between my trip to Italy and working out as much as I have been (lots of crossfit – planning on posting about it soon) I’m actually surprised the scale isn’t up a bit more. Note: I tend to increase slightly is weight when weight training.

    I’m up .4 lbs. I’m pretty sure I’m PMS’ing, but who knows, I’m also an IF biotch, who doesn’t really know if this is PMS, that I may in fact be pregnant or I’m just crazy and retaining water, especially since I kicked ass at my workouts and stayed within my points this week.

    I didn’t join the first Diet Bet (saw it too late) but I’m already signed up for the next one. I’m in a different Diet Bet with some girlfriends that ends next Wednesday. I’m almost there and need to get serious, it’s a week away and hopefully I’ll be one of the winners.

    I have really increased the amount of strength training I am doing over the last 2 months. I am also seeing a personal trainer once a week. I used to strength train once or twice a week, but now I’m doing it 3 times a week. A number of people boasted how it sped it up their weight loss. I feel like it’s possibly hindering mine a bit. I’m pleased with how my body looks and notice specific changes since making this change. I have been really frustrated with the scale, but I keep telling myself to “trust the process.” The good news is that I’m basically maintaining. Something has to give at some point. Right?

    The Jump Rope-a-Thon sounds awesome.

    So the scale budged for the first time in a few weeks-woohoo! Seriously, I think my scale only acknowledges gains or losses of close to a pound, because I got the exact same reading several weeks in a row (122.4), and find it hard to believe I didn’t fluctuate even a tenth of a pound during that time. I’ve been slowly sliding into that zone of seeing how much I can get away with while still maintaining within my goal range. Fruits and veggies are down, simple carbs are way up, and I need to get a grip. Regardless of what effect it has on my weight, eating so much junk leaves me tired and grumpy.

    Your post last night was incredibly appropriate for me, so thank you for it. I am discouraged about having set a goal for myself and clearly finding myself not on target to meet it at this stage. I needed to hear what you had to say, because I could seriously see myself falling off the rails at this point without that little reminder. Thank you for it.

    I know that sounds a bit nuts because I did lose this week, but I am still up three and a half pounds from my pre holiday weight, and have lost pretty much the whole month of January playing with three pounds. It’s very frustrating. But I will keep pushing forward. There is no other choice!

    I saw there is more than one Nancy–so I will be Nancyabc.
    I was sick last week but I am still down -2 even though I ate a pound of colby cheese and a half a package of saltines–ugh but that was the only food I ate for 2 and a half days. I had a bad Monday and Tuesday evening but I really plan today not to eat after supper and get back on track. I seem to go a week or so doing well and then have 2-3 days of eating bad in the evening. Haven’t gotten any of the next 10 pds off yet this year but I haven’t given up either so I will keep my goal for 10 more pounds off and see what happens week to week. Everyone have a good week!     I got too lazy to past last Wed, but last week I lost 1.8 (down to 192.2). Well then I went a bit insane (literally it was like i was stir-crazy with the clean eating) and just indulged for 4 straight days and gained 1.2. I’m chalking it up to PMS and am already back to clean eating! here’s to onwards and downwards (scale-wise)!

    Not a surprise. It was a serious stress eating week. While I am quite aware that eating multiple doughnuts, along with 3 times eating out, an enormous cupcake and non-stop snacking are going to make me gain weight (and they won’t actually help the stress either), yet I still do it. Made a choice last night to get on the exercise bike (tantruming like a 2 year old the whole time, ’til I started pedaling), which helped curb the snacking (a little). Trying to improve my sleep too…the stressors aren’t going away, so I’d better find a way to deal with them that doesn’t involve food.

    I have never posted on this site, but I follow it and the weigh-ins every week. I have not been weighing myself weekly (I find I get too discouraged by small or non-existent changes) but I do weigh myself monthly. I began my weight loss journey on August 1, 2012. This morning when I weighed myself, I am down 14.6 pounds! I am so excited and thrilled. I don’t ever remember feeling quite this motivated. Thanks for your story Roni! It is truly inspiring.

    As I suspected last week, my weight was grossly overinflated by water weight and it’s come back down to normal. Yay! My morning weight bounces around SO much right now, between 155-162 and it’s super annoying. I don’t think I can actually achieve a 4% weight loss (6.2 pounds) in 4 weeks but the motivation to try would be nice as that would leave me at done for losing and move me into maintaining. So, I am going to join into the DietBet this time around. Luck to all!

    I expected a gain this week after being totally dehydrated from the stomach flu last week. It’s down a few from two weeks ago, which I count as a positive. I met my 15mile goal (barely) and fit in two strength days that both kicked my bum. My legs are super sore right now. I still need to work a lot on my diet. I’ve been snacking too much and usually snacking on carbs. So, again, my focus needs to be my eating and snacking…doing both less and making some smarter choices.

    Down .2 from last week as of yesterday. I have kept the exercising routine going except yesterday when it was raining. On Sunday I accidentally jog/walked 8.19miles!! Serious accident! I went out with intention to do normal 3-4 mi jog with the dog and it felt so good outside and I went a different direction on the trail than normally and I just kept going thinking that the trail would bend back around. Boy was I WRONG! It was about mile 5 that I thought I should look on a map and see where I was. Had to cut through some trees and a neighborhood I didn’t know existed and saw some ahhh-mazing houses, found a food truck park I didn’t know about and finally made it home. Me and the pup were worn out to say the least! I had hoped for a larger loss with that extra exercising but eh I’ll take .2. I have 3wks to my birthday goal I’ve been working towards and need to lose 6.8 more lbs. Maybe with a miracle I’ll make it!

    OK, starting to get a little frustrated with my stagnant scale. Then I remembered that I did eat a whole box of Girl Scout Tagalongs this week (not at one sitting, but over the course of several snacks and desserts!) With just a little more focus, I know I can get the scale moving in the right direction. I do feel a lot better than I did at the beginning of January!

    so i’m up .2 but that is nothing that concerns me. i feel like these last lbs i keep losing over and over. it’s like down 1, up 1.5, down .3, up .8…arg it’s a bit frustrating, but i feel so good about my energy level, my food choices, my accountability, not to mention how my clothes fit, that i just can’t get too upset about it.

    a nsv the past week was that i ran into 2 separate people who i haven’t seen in about 3 months. they both were so complimentary and wanted to know what i had been doing, that i looked like i shrunk and “you’re so tiny!!!” it felt really good to have others notice my hard work. it’s still hard for me to believe that i’ve lost 22.2!! lbs since the beginning of september 2012.

    I’ve taken a few weeks off from posting, because I’m experimenting with finding the healthiest mindset for me and this whole crazy life-long struggle. I’m trying to make the living and not the measuring be my focus right now, and although the number on the scale is bouncing around a little more, I’m OK with that. Once it gets to be an upward trend (and *sigh* I know that will happen eventually), I’ll start letting the scale rule me again.

    Roni, I weighed in on the Diet Bet, results verified and I made it by just .1 lbs and I watched everything I ate this week so that I didn’t retain water too much, but of course last night I finally used some of my extra WW points, 12 to be exact because I had baked ravioli with lots of cheese, tons of water, and a small piece of chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream…..this morning I was down 1.6 lbs. I really don’t get that? I guess I don’t get the science behind it:(

    I show up exactly 3lbs in the last 2 weeks. SO SAD!! I said the same thing last week, but I really am hoping it’s a “false weight”. I went to visit my family in Reno for a long weekend & actually ate REALLY well while I was there, but it was a lot of “healthy/carby” stuff, ie; the “healthy stuff” off the menu. I do feel pretty bloated & icky this morning, so i’m hoping my weight next week will actually reflect how well I thought I’d done the past 2 weeks. Thinking you’d done well the past 2 weeks & wanting to pat yourself on the back, but then discovering you’ve gained 3lbs is HIGHLY DISCOURAGING!!! :( I’m going to try & stay postive & not start eating everything under the sun.
    I did get up this morning @ 4:15am & ran 3.5 miles on my treadmill before work!!!

    Lost the three pounds I gained last week back off putting me at 250.6 doing much better on the snacking this week, I haven’t been snacking after dinner and I’ve been going to bed about an hour earlier and I feel so much more rested and have so much more energy. Now if I can just get that other 100 pounds off I’ll be happy. :)
