One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

A Low Key Sensational Sunday.

Today I woke up to these two watching The Backyardigans.

I know I say this all the time but they are just too stinkin’ cute I can’t stand it! I am often just awed by their presence.

That is, when they aren’t annoying the crap out of me. One seems to be constantly whining and the other is so absent minded I could scream, but I made them breakfast anyway. :)

We all split a batch of Banana Almond Oat Pancakes made in the waffle iron.

Afterwards it finished our dinosaur excavation,

FINALLY got our calendar sorted,

watched Bean push my new luggage around (Italy in 6 DAYS! HOLY CANNOLI!!)

and started the laundry before it was already lunch time!

I made this…

A Thai Inspired Cucumber Cashew Salad and it was SO good! Click here for the recipe.

Then it was off to the grocery store for me. I left the boys and went alone! Then I came home, dropped off the groceries,

and left them again for a trail run.

Had to make a pitstop for #YogaADay, of course. :)

I got back and found these 2 playing cars.

and someone else wanted to go on a run.

We did a half a mile to the park and then our little workout,

  • 10 pushups
  • 10 dips
  • 10 pull ups
  • Lateral rock wall climbing
  • Relaxing on the swing before we run home

So much fun!

Our reward?

Fresh grapes!

The rest of the day was pretty chill. I made dinner,

cleaned up, and put the boys to bed. Now I’m sipping my sleepytime tea and dreaming of my bed.

‘night. :)

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

Your husband cracks me up how he takes on the form of a slug when on the couch. ROFL He should do posters for “typical male.” But I know he gets up and at ’em, too! Not making fun. The blahhhhh just cracked me up! Haha

Wow – Italy. My husband and I went there on my absolute dream trip in 2008. You’ll love every bit of it. Florence and Ancient Rome are my absolute favorite places on this earth. Soak in every second!

I can’t wait! It’s really starting to sink in that I’m going now!

I know your hubby likes to sleep in, so does that mean the boys got themselves up and were happy watching TV together? That was a milestone with my kids that I relished! The rosy cheeks on those two little guys are just too cute.

The older one does, and the younger one still needs me. So in this case I got him up, and changed. Then he went downstairs to hang with big brother. I went to bathroom and when I came down they looked so cute sitting on the couch together!

We had a sensational Sunday too! I had to smile at your calendar because we just updated ours too. I planned out our dinners for this next week and prepped some breakfast items. I’m trying to break out of a dinner and breakfast rut;-) Those grape looked juicy! Yum!

One word of advice especially in rome.. keep your wallet out of site (not in back pocket) or wear a money belt. We had multiple people try to get pick pocketed in rome on my tour with Rick Steves. Most of it was done on the subway/metro.

Mmm, the cucumber cashew salad looks great! You’re right…your little ones just keep getting cuter. I’ve enjoyed your blog for a long time, but almost never comment, so I thought I’d give you a shout. Congratulations on your upcoming Italy excursion! That’s on my bucket list…Someday, right? I’ve been blogging about my journey since 2010… Thanks for continuing to encourage and inspire!

I always wonder and forget to ask, what time does everyone normally get up on Sunday mornings at your house?

      January 11, 2013

Umm 7ish. Sometimes I get lucky and baby sleeps in until 8ish. But we are normally up and about by 8AM. When I say WE I mean the kids and I. :)
