One Mom’s Journey from Fat to Skinny to Confident

My Mini-Mudder

This morning I embarked on a running adventure with my 7 year old. I’m not going to go into the actual event details because frankly, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a race to date. THE WORST! But I’m not stopping in to write a review or waste my time complaining. I’d rather focus on the positive.

And there was a lot of positive!

Ryan and I HAD. A. BLAST.

And I have the video to prove it….

He was such a little trooper. Running almost the whole mile, twice! He attempted every obstacle and only bailed on one wall climbing because the height freaked him out.

The mud, however, not a problem.

I decided to stay mostly clean. The adult course was similar to the kids mile and didn’t have the pit until the end. I just didn’t see the point, especially after such a disappointing event. Instead, I ran and then spent the rest of the morning running the kids race with Ryan.

This event may have been a mismanaged, unorganized, cluster. One at which I even insjured myself…

But I still loved it!

I spent a beautful, November morning with my son, outside, being active, talking… bonding. I can only hope Ryan continues to enjoy this as much as I do. He truly is my Motivation Turned Workout Partner, and this post I wrote 3 years ago is truer than ever.

I’d love to hear your story or thoughts on mine.

However, to prevent the massive amounts of spam I was receiving I have turned off comments on any post older than 5 days old. If you'd like to leave me a note regarding this post or anything really try me on twitter (@RoniNoone,) my Facebook page, or even IG (@RoniNoone) I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. I never thought I'd have to do this but it's gotten way out of hand and comment management has become simply too time consuming to manage.

You are an awesome mom Roni !

I have to say I had tears in my eyes at the end of the video. I wish I had done things like this with my kids when they were younger. My “baby” is 23. But because of watching your Color Run video, I asked him to do it with me when I saw one was scheduled a month and a half ago here.

Hopefully I can force myself to keep signing up for stuff like this until I can get myself to the stage you’re at, loving doing it. Several months ago I became a WW drop out –yet again– and put back on the 30 pounds I had lost :(

Can’t believe I let that slide happen until I had gained it ALL back again. But I just want to tell you, that I keep reading your blog daily and find you so inspirational, and I hope to get myself back on track again soon.
A big congrats to Ryan for doing such an awesome job, and how proud he must be of earning that medal.

That is AWESOME!! I loved how he kept saying “Woo!” when he was out of breath.
