Last night I was awakened by a sound around 1:30 AM. It seems someone decided my cheapo gas grill was worthy enough of being stolen right off my back porch!

I wasn’t particularly attached to the grill. I’m more unnerved at the idea that someone was snooping around outside my house while I was sleeping.

Creepy and makes me want to take self-defense classes!

Anyway, lets move on to this weeks weigh in. I only have a few minutes before heading to the gym with Little Bean. We go to the gym on Wednesdays for yoga and playtime at the daycare. :)

Age: 36

Lost almost all the weight I gained over the lsat 3 weeks.

Trying to eat mostly unprocessed is helping immensely! I haven’t been perfect by any means but the goal has helped me make better decisions and has curbed my night time snack cycle somewhat. I’ve been gnawing on frozen grapes and some nuts instead of chips and such.

Ok, who’s next? I can’t wait to see how everyone did this week!

Down 0.1kg this week. Basically maintaining at the moment. In order to lose some weight I need to stop overeating every single day and
do some exercise. Goal for this week is to eat ‘cleaner’ i.e. no processed crap.

I know it’s my eating. If I would just stop putting junk in even on occasion, then maybe I would go down. I go up 1 or 2 lbs and then down 1 or 2 lbs, but never get down to my goal.

I am extremely excited about my .9 loss! Wooohoooo! This is my second weigh-in and I’m just so happy to see the scale going in a downward direction. I swear that I have gained weight every week prior because I was avoiding the scale. This is just what I needed to remind me that the scale is just a tool that I need to use to hold me accountable. Was I perfect last week? Heck no! But just knowing that I was going to step on the scale again helped me to make a few better food choices. I will take a loss of .5 or .9 every week thank you;-)

Not sure I believe my scale on this one but will see for sure at WW on Saturday. I have been out of town and didn’t track a thing, however, I tried to make the best choices possibly and ran atleast 2 miles each day. I will keep on moving every day this week with bootcamp or runs, since I started a challenge with my friends – 20 minutes of movement every day for the 31 days in October. Join us! #20for31 I am also running my first 15k this Saturday and marathon #1 training starts Monday – big week!

I am in the midst of my highest mileage for marathon training. I am monitoring my weight a few times a week and I’m all over the place. I’m still counting WW point plus and contemplating quitting WW until after the marathon though I like the accountability that comes with journaling my food. I’m eating and using all my weekly points along with activity points on long run days. At best I’m maintaining and that’s fine considering weight gain often occurs during marathon training.

It was Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend and I enjoyed it – beautiful fall weather and good Thanksgiving food. I’m totally okay with the gain as life is meant to be enjoyed, and my favourite thing about holidays is getting together with family and friends, and that often comes with good food! So, up .6 from 2 weeks ago, and overall up just over 2 pounds from the beginning of the challenge. Postive item to report is I’ve been much more active. I have been looking up new recipes to avoid the same-old doldrums in the kitchen this week. A 4-mile walk and carmelized tofu and brussel sprouts are on the agenda tonight. I am trying a new approach–avoiding sugary/greasy junk food not because I’m trying to lose weight, but to reduce my dependence on heartburn medicine. It’s the only change I can make–I go to doctors and they shrug, because I am young, female and at a healthy weight, which is the opposite of their typical heartburn patient.

    • Jessica

How do you make your caramelized tofu? I love tofu in new ways!

    • Dukebdc

Hi Jessica! It’s a new recipe I found on Sparkrecipes:

    Weightloss this week: 2.6

2.6 this week. Even with TOM in full swing right now. A total of 11.5 since we started this. And a waist that’s gone down 4.7 inches since starting this some weeks ago. It’s really amazing how this whole thing has changed me and I can´t thank you enough, Roni. Yesterday I was having a really “off” day, having broken a tooth on sunday, having it repaired on monday (don’t do good with the shots), TOM in full swing yesterday etc. Reasons galore for not going for my swim. But I had decided it was an INo. So I did. And I struggled for every one of the first 10 laps. Then it got easier and at the end I didn’t only feel fabulous, but I had also swum 250 meters more than the last time. I LOVE this feeling of accomplishing things and it’s spreading to other areas of my life. I smile pretty much all the time and great things are happening with my job.
    I am happy :)

This was back to work week after maternity leave for me, so I had to change my weigh in time to much earlier than it has been. I was up 1.6 pounds from last week. I have been weighing in between 8-9 am and this week I weighed in at 5:30 am. I try not to get into scale games, but it threw me for a loop when I was expecting a loss. Age: 51Just what I expected – back to my current setpoint weight. Could have been worse after a salty cracker snack attack last night! So these crackers are in a box, but not too processed. The lower fat version of the original, and just ww flour, veg oil, and salt (the 3 most happy-inducing things in the world). Not only is the taste and that comfy feeling of a tummy full of carbs nice, but I also have a very particular way to eat each cracker. The good part is, it slows me down so I’m not shovelling. The bad part is, it is the most addictive crunch experience ever! I don’t want to ban this product from my house, because a few at lunch with my salad is not a bad food choice. But I need to put it on my no-fly list for being anywhere near my TV-viewing spot on the couch.

My mother inlaw is also staying with us so my diet has changed with her helping with the cooking. You may wonder why I am listing CW? I have lymphedema and it is hard for me to lose weight. This is amazing for me to be going down like this with out a high rebound. This is fall break for me and I have been eating well but I have not been walking as much as I need to SO next weigh-in does not look good for me–ugh! BUT this has been one FUN ride so far–lol.

I didn’t have a great week, I started well, but then fizzled. I did realize something though. I have never weighed what I want to weigh and been drinking as much as I do now. Never. If I want these last 10 to 15 pounds off my body, I have to not drink as much. I would much rather be thin than hungover!! Cheers to water!!

Obviously not losing much (but not gaining either so YAY!!). I think my body has kinda settled here and is comfortable. I’ll have really bad weeks and not really gain much and they have super good weeks and eat right and exercise every day and not really lose much. Hopefully I’ll break past this plateau soon, gonna start mixing my workouts up a bit and see if that helps. Good luck to you all and as always, thanks Roni for keeping us motivated and inspired :)

I am 10 months post-partum and the pounds dropped off while I was breastfeeding. Now that is done, I am back to work and they are creeping back up. Time to start being a little more accountable. Finding time to work out consistently right now is challenging, so I am focusing mainly on portion control and smarter choices and getting exercise in while I can. Thanks Roni for all your inspiration.

Ok, week I’ve been a littel stressed & I’ve had a bad head cold for about a week & a half. Feeling much better now so hopefully I can get back in the swing of things.
I won’t be posting next week because I’ll be out of town visiting my sister & nephews in Reno, NV. So hopefully when I check back in, in two weeks I’ll either maintain or show a loss. Mostly my goal is to maintain, but a loss would be GREAT.
    As always,
    Thanks Roni

I’m struggling BIG TIME right now and need to make some changes. so, first thing…i want to put myself out there..starting my own on-line journal…but, more so want to join this community of yours. :) OK…now what does HW & CW stand for? Highest and Current weight?

    • RoniNoone

Yup! And it’s not a requirement to post that. Some people like to give as much info as possible so others know where they are on their own journeys.

8 months, 1 week in maintenance.

I spent about 3 days one pound over my goal weight. I must say, I feel much better right at goal weight or 1 pound lower. Keeping my carbs around 100 per day and eating paleo/primal. Another week in Jr. Maintainer’s mode. I feel good.
