I Wanted Something to DIP! (Day 6)

I can’t believe I’m 6 days in. I must admit this eating less processed is HARD, but not impossible. It just take a bit more planning, prep and patience. I can’t tell you how many times I just wanted to open the pantry and grab some pretzels or make a sandwich on BREAD! <–more on that later. This is why a "diet" that makes certain foods off limits isn’t for me. I can’t imagine never having a McDonald’s cone or a slice of pizza ever again. Or how about Birthday cake, brownies —Mmmmm brownies— or Mom’s Christmas cookies! Plus, sometimes, I just don’t feel like cooking! And I refuse to feel guilty about that.

Ok, short, weird, rant over. I am —despite my rambling above— having fun on this challenge and part of me thinks I’m doing so well because I know it’s not permanent. Does that make sense?

Anyway, here’s day 6 of less processed eating…

This morning started with some Quick Banana Pancakes for the kids.

I had one in the morning rush to ward off the hunger pangs. Once little guy was on the bus I had an apple with the almond butter.

Late morning I had one of my nut and oat bars while working on posting the recipe.

While making lunch I snacked on some leftover roasted cauliflower and broccoli.

Lunch was a quick soup I made with a can of white beans and leeks.

The soup was good but while eating I couldn’t help but think it was missing something to dip. That’s when I snuck a peace of Little Bean’s grilled cheese.

Just a few bites was all I needed. Man was it good dipped in the soup!

Dinner was a mish mosh of leftovers. I had spaghetti squash with my sauce and some leftover chicken.

After the kids went to bed I decided to pop some popcorn. I added a sprinkle of cinnamon and powdered sugar for a sweet twist.

It was the best I could come up with to stay out of the pantry.

I’m feeling a little better today but not 100%. I skipped my workout this morning but hopping to make yoga tomorrow.

Oh! and tomorrow is weigh in day! It will be interesting to see how all less processed eating effected the scale!

    I agree – that’s one of the nice things about WW – you don’t have to eliminate any particular food if you want to have it.
